A graphing calculator may be used as a learning aid. Only approved scientific
calculators will be permitted on exams.
Math 150 with a grade of C or better PLUS satisfactory placement score or

Course Content. This course develops the techniques of single-variable calculus begun in Calculus I
and introduces series and series representations of functions. Topics include techniques of integration,
convergence of series, power series, and polar and parametric curves. See the Calendar for a detailed
listing of sections in the text.
Course Objectives. To acquaint the student with appropriate techniques to evaluate integrals,
applications of integration, the analysis of plane curves, convergence tests for series, and the
representation of functions using power series.
Requirements and Grading. Grades will be determined on the basis of the following:

Quizzes will be given frequently and cannot be made up. Homework will be assigned daily and, unless
otherwise specified, is due on the next class day. Late homework will not be graded. The lowest 20% of
quiz and homework grades will be dropped. Exams can only be made up in exceptional circumstances
(such as documented illness) as approved by the instructor. It is in your best interest to get approval for
make-up exams in advance when possible. Hour exams are tentatively scheduled for February 10, March
7, April 7 and April 25.
Grades will be based on an 89% A, 78% B, 67% C, 56% D scale. Attendance is required and will be
recorded daily. Three or more un-excused absences will be grounds for lowering the student's grade.
Regular attendance, consistent homework and regular review of earlier material are essential for
successful completion of the requirements of the course. Working together with your classmates on
homework can be helpful when the end goal is to increase each individual's independent proficiency in
the material.
Withdrawal. The last day to withdraw from the course without a grade is Sunday, January 26. The last
day to withdraw from the course with a grade of W is Sunday, March 30. You should be aware that the
grade INC (incomplete) cannot be used as a withdrawal and can only be assigned to students who are
passing the course and for reasons beyond their control cannot complete all class assignments. See the
