ALARM PERMITS
State Law now requires you to register your alarm and obtain a Alarm Permit for your home or business.
Most of the larger cities have complied with the ordinance because this is a new source of reoccurring
revenue and a way of lowering the false alarm rate by holding alarm companies and home and business
owners to be more responsible. In the past there was no higher authority holding alarm companies
responsible for correctly installing alarm systems, and the subscriber had to deal with the false alarms
that poor installations caused.
Second, the police were dispatched on every alarm that came in, subscriber error or not. Now alarm
company technicians receive better training and monitoring companies are trained to call the location
first. In Oklahoma, police will always respond if there is a person on site of where an alarm is coming
from. Some police departments may not respond to a alarm at your location if you don't have a permit
on file. If you look under Customer Support and in alarm permits we do have links to most of the cities
we deal with. We do try to keep this list up to date. If you don't see the city where you live listed, then
you should contact your city hall and ask about where and how you can get your alarm permit. Please
advise use of any links you find to cities we don't have listed and we will include in our list of permits.
To check for your city go to OUR Customer Support and chose Alarm Permits.
