Definition
ENERGY STAR
Partner
An organization that signed a Partnership Agreement with EPA
to manufacture or private label ENERGY STAR qualified
products.
Brand
An identifier assigned by the manufacturer or private labeler to a
product or family/series of products for sales and marketing
purposes.
Model Name
An identifier assigned by the manufacturer or private labeler to a
product or family/series of products for sales and marketing
purposes.
Model Number
A distinguishing identifier, usually alphanumeric, assigned to a
product by the manufacturer or private labeler.
Additional Model
Information
This column includes for the qualified model or family, family
members, additional model names, model numbers and other
identifying information associated with a product or family/series
of products for sales and marketing purposes. Other identifying
information includes, but is not limited to, SKUs, UPC codes,
retail numbers, and/or descriptions of models included/not
included in the reported Model Family.
Ceiling Fan Size
The diameter (in inches) of a ceiling fan tip to tip.
Airflow Efficiency-
Low
The ratio of airflow divided by power at a specific residential
ceiling fan setting expressed in cubic feet per minute/Watt (CFM/
watt) at low speed.
Airflow Efficiency-
Medium
The ratio of airflow divided by power at a specific residential
ceiling fan setting expressed in cubic feet per minute/Watt (CFM/
watt) at medium speed.
Airflow Efficiency-
High
The ratio of airflow divided by power at a specific residential
ceiling fan setting expressed in cubic feet per minute/Watt (CFM/
watt) at high speed.
Motor Warranty
Qualifying products shall provide a warranty of at least 30 years
for the motor of qualifying residential ceiling fans.
Components
Warranty
Qualifying products shall provide a warranty of at least one year
for all other components (that is, other than motor) of qualifying
residential ceiling fans.

Notes:
Qualifying ceiling fan models must come with a minimum 30-year motor warranty;
one-year component(s) warranty; and 2-year light kits warranty.
Residential ceiling fan airflow efficiency is defined on a performance basis: CFM of
airflow per watt of power consumed by the motor and controls. The motor, blades,
and controls are treated as a system, which allows for multiple approaches to reach
a given efficiency level. Efficiency is measured on each of three fan speeds (low,
medium, high) and must meet the minimum requirements outlined in the table
above.
