Electro-Technical Course Description C o u r s e C o n t e n t • D escribe the product, its usage, and its interactions • K now how to locate useful and necessary information in the user manual and associated documentation • E xplain the main systems of the product (mechanical, hydraulic, electric, and control systems) • E xplain the subsystems of the product (structural, hydraulic, and control systems) • Explain safety issues related to the equipment • Explain the normal start/stop procedure • Explain the emergency procedures and systems Who Should Attend? Personnel who will perform electrical maintenance and repair of the equipment as well as personnel designated to oversee electrical maintenance of the equipment should attend this course. Prerequisites Before participating in this course, each student should have basic product and electric knowledge. It also is required that participants have basic PLC knowledge. Goals and Objectives • E xplain safety issues related to the maintenance of the equipment • P erform inspections as described in the user manual • P erform maintenance as described in the user manual • Use electrical diagrams to troubleshoot • U se overall system understanding to solve potential problems with the equipment • B e familiar with PLC programs for the machines and use the applicable programs to solve potential issues with the equipment Participants in this course will obtain knowledge about construction, overall system understanding, and the purpose of the equipment. Participants also will gain an understanding of the operating procedures in order to perform maintenance in a correct, efficient, and safe manner, as well as obtain a general understanding of the machine’s electrical system.
