Hydraulic/Mechanical Maintenance Course Description C o u r s e C o n t e n t • D escribe the product, its usage, and its interactions • K now how to locate useful and necessary information in the user manual and associated documentation • E xplain the main systems of the product (mechanical, hydraulic, electric, and control systems) • E xplain the subsystems of the product (structural, hydraulic, and control systems) • Explain safety issues related to the equipment • Explain the normal start/stop procedure • Explain the emergency procedures and systems • E xplain safety issues related to the maintenance of the equipment • Explain the maintenance that operators perform • P erform inspections as described in the user manual Who Should Attend? Personnel who will perform hydraulic or mechanical maintenance on the equipment or personnel designated to oversee maintenance of the equipment should attend this course. Prerequisites Before participating in this course, each student should have basic product knowledge as well as an understanding of hydraulics. • P erform scheduled maintenance as described in the user manual • Use flow diagrams to troubleshoot • U se overall system understanding to solve potential problems with the equipment • E xplain the equipment’s lubrication chart and usage • U se the information in the user manual and documentation to store and preserve the equipment Goals and Objectives Participants in this course will gain knowledge about the construction, overall system understanding, and purpose of the equipment. During the course, participants will acquire an understanding of how to operate the equipment in order to perform maintenance, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting in accordance with the instructions contained in the user manual.
