mediaHUB HD is a real-time,

MPEG 2 High Definition Encoder
broadcast-quality MPEG 2 High Definition 1080i
and 720P encoder. It was designed for
contribution, distribution and studio applications. HDSDI (SD and HD) video input is standard
along with Composite (SD) and an optional Firewire (SD) video input. Audio support includes
multiple stereo MPEG Layer 2 and Dolby Digital audio encoding with optional Dolby 5.1 and Dolby
E pass-though. Control 9 Pin RS422 (Sony Protocol) devices frame accurately for studio
applications or operate the encoder in a 24x7x365 mode for distribution with constant capture.
MediaHUB HD includes an HD-capable decoder and 750GB
hard drive that provides a frame-accurate capture of files
for studio applications, or provides and
maintains a constant capture of your
broadcast. It can even be
used for High Definition
time-delay applications.
• Studio Applications: mediaHUB HD is a real-time High Definition MPEG 2
video, MPEG and Dolby Digital audio encoder. With the ability to capture High
Definition or Standard Definition video and multiple stereo audio streams in
real-time from tape or NLE. mediaHUB HD allows users to view a live confidence
decode of the video as well as audio track selection while capturing. The decoders advanced scaler provides up and down conversion of the encoded video to
match the decode monitors resolution. When capture is completed, mediaHUB
HD provides review, accept and many transfer options. Transfers can be made
to the local host computer, a remote FTP server and directly to one or many
Adtec or other video servers. mediaHUB HD includes frame accurate control of
professional VTRs over serial RS-422 and VTR’s or NLE’s via the optional standard
definition FireWire module.
• ATSC, DVB and MPEG Distribution Applications: Distribute excellent quality
video and audio 24x7x365 with a constant capture of the distribution service.
The user can define the record duration for each segment of the constant
capture up to a maximum of 23:59:50:29 frames. Constant Capture can be used
in HD or SD mode. Encoder redundancy options include 1+1 or n+1 when using
Adtec’s DTA-3050. The DTA also supports real time dynamic ATSC PSIP and DVB
Table support including EIT.
• Contribution Applications: Set the encoder for SD MPEG 2 422 (422P@ML),
SD 420 (MP@ML) or HD 1080i or 720P and egress the MPEG2 Transport Stream
via ASI or IP, all while maintaining a live decode and constant capture of your
valuable contribution feed.

• Live Program Acquisition: Encode long
form material via schedule or interface via
serial, Ethernet or GPI control.
• Multimedia: Create files that provide the
best quality playback on Adtec and other
high-definition digital media players, servers
or Blue Ray DVD *.
• Ad Insertion and VOD: Encode content
from tape or directly from Final Cut, Adobe
Premier, Sony XPRI, Avid or other NLEs for
analog ad insertion, digital program insertion
(DPI) and video on demand (VOD). Cable Labs
Compliant.
• Studio: Use mediaHUB-HD for real time
encoding of content from NLE timelines. No
need to roll to tape, then encode.
• Time Delay: Capture live - delay and
rebroadcast HD or SD content for time delay
applications.

best on-air look, mediaHUB-HD delivers with excellent quality
Standard and High Definition video.
• Control with accuracy: mediaHUB HD can control VTR
sources from RS-422 and FireWire for accurate mark in/out of
material to ensure that you get what you want
• Encode from NLE: Frame accurately* encode NLE timeline
projects directly to mediaHUB-HD without rolling to tape.
*Some NLEs will not provide frame accuracy.
• Create DPI-ready files: Whether you currently splice local
content into a digital transport stream or you are planning for
DPI in the future, mediaHUB HD can create files that work in
switched SDI, analog ad insertion and Standard and High
Definition DPI ad servers from Adtec or other vendors.
• Encode for the Enterprise: mediaHUB HD interoperates with
Adtec's ad insertion enterprise server, adManage. As a content
management server, adManage provides mediaHUB-HD with a
prioritized list of commercials scheduled for ad insertion. Once the
file is encoded and accepted, the adManage database is updated
with valuable metadata including actual duration, ingest time,
operator and optional expiration date. Compliant with Cable Labs
VOD content standards.
• Confidence decode: Real-time confidence decode of the
material lets you immediately see and hear what you are
contributing, distributing or studio capturing with control to switch
audio channels, abort and re-encode right away. After content is
encoded to file, it can also be reviewed as many times as you
want before final approval and transfer.
• Constant Capture: Automatically capture files in user defined
segment lengths for archival.
• Monitor: SNMP monitoring, front panel LED and LCD visual
alarms, and event logging are standard.
