Land Pride offers new commercial
mower with 90-inch cutting width
LAND Pride’s new FDR3690 Rear Discharge Grooming Mower is designed for
commercial use, with a 90-inch cutting width and 6 free-swinging, medium-lift
blades.
The rear discharge keeps clippings off landscaped areas, and directs clippings
and other debris toward the ground. Blade tip speed is 16,500 fpm.
The unit is designed for long-lasting service with a durable 3/16-inch deck,
four 13-inch semi-solid tires, a Double-V Powerband belt, and an optional front
roller. The driveline is a Category 4, with a quick-coupler. The hitch is a fl oating
three-point Category 1 and is quick-hitch compatible. The tapered deck allows
users to get close to trees or other obstacles, and the medium-lift blades produce
a fi nely groomed lawn every time.

Sukup makes squaring elevator
legs easier with new system
SUKUP Manufacturing Co. has taken some of the hair-pulling frustration out of
building bucket-elevator legs with a new patent-pending system of squaring
plates and alignment pins.
The plates and pins work together to hold pieces in place during construction,
eliminating the need for “third hands” by those doing the building. The squaring
plates are fastened to the top and bottom of every pair of legs. The plates hold
the legs fi rmly in place, eliminating the twisting that commonly occurs without the
use of these reinforcements.
The alignment pins are mounted to the squaring plate on the upper section, so
the worker can guide the pins into holes in the lower plate with relative ease. The
system comes standard on all Sukup bucket elevators, and ensures a straight-on
connection before the sections are bolted together.
For more information, call 641-892-4222.
ELEVATOR SQUARE: Squaring plates and aligning pins make Sukup’s new
system for building legs for bucket elevators a “must-have” for precise construction.

Agronomists across the country agree that phosphate
is a critical crop nutrient for both corn and small grains.
Unfortunately, it is also the second-most frequently deficient
nutrient in crop production.
Proper phosphate fertility helps crops establish quickly by
enhancing early plant development. Phosphate also provides
plants with energy to help fight disease during a long
growing season.
The challenge with fertilizer P is it quickly becomes tied
up with other minerals in the soil, and once it is bound to
other minerals it becomes largely unavailable to the crop. In
fact, only 10 to 30 percent of P fertilizer is actually used in
the year it is applied, while 30 to 50 percent may never be
recovered.
Rather than adding more phosphate, my recommendation to growers is to use a
Novozymes biofertility product that is designed to improve the efficiency of their
existing phosphate fertilizer program. JumpStart
®
is a biofertility product that
provides better access to soil and fertilizer phosphate.
The active ingredient in JumpStart is the patented, naturally occurring soil fungus
Penicillium bilaii. P. bilaii grows along plant roots, thriving on secretions from
the roots. As the fungus grows and multiplies, it produces organic compounds that
break the bonds holding phosphate to the soil, making it more available to the
plant. The results are higher crop yields – as much as 6 percent higher in corn and 9
percent higher in winter wheat – and better return on current and past investments
in phosphate fertilizer.
I look forward to answering any questions you might have about our biofertility
products. Please contact me at jnnv@Novozymes.com or call 402-768-1346.
