The SuperLoader 3A incorporates Quantum’s revolutionary
technology developed specifically as a storage solution for
professional video environments with file-based workflows.
By leveraging standard video industry formats and proven
IT industry standard tapes and drives, Quantum is expanding
its line of digital storage solutions. The Quantum
SuperLoader 3A accommodates 1 or 2 magazines, each
holding 8 data cartridges for a total of 16 cartridges, all
housed within a two rack-unit enclosure. Individual tape
cartridges can be loaded or removed from the convenient
front “mail” slot, or complete magazines can be removed
for loading, unloading or shelf-storage in convenient
3.2TB modules.
The SuperLoader 3A includes a gigabit Ethernet interface
and a built-in FTP server, so it can be network attached
and visible to every workstation. The SuperLoader 3A
storage system is also “MXF-aware” which enables direct
access to metadata and allows subclip access to content
by timecode. Each tape has its own file system and
directory and can be freely moved between SuperLoaders,
stand-alone drives and even video facilities. With this
standard file system and MXF-aware file support, this
ProVideo technology delivers a new level of transparent
cross-platform and cross-application storage solution.
