Inserting Batteries
Forcing the cover open can cause damage.
Please follow the procedure below to open the cover.

Slide the bottom cover
halfway.

* The cover locks in this position.

With the cover unlocked,
slide the cover some more.

Unlock the cover by sliding
the lock down in the
direction of the arrow.

* Release fingers from lock and it springs
back to the locked position.

Lift the cover to
open it.

Close the cover.

* The cover slides only to the position in
the photograph.

Insert the batteries.

* Be sure the positive and negative
terminals are oriented correctly.

Demo Songs
The SD Memory Card has demo songs recorded on it.

• See “Playing back” on p. 42 in the Owner’s Manual for details on playing the demo
songs.
• With the demo songs on the SD Memory Card, the recording time is reduced by the
space occupied by the demo songs.
• The demo songs
g will be deleted if the SD Memory
y Card is formatted.
You may want to create a backup of the demo songs on a PC.

SD Memory Cards that can be used on the R-09

• The R-09 supports SD memory cards of 64 MB to 2 GB.
• Some memory card types or memory cards from some manufacturers may not
record or play back properly on the R-09.
