Update to Installation Instructions

The original USB-485M installation instructions were documented using Windows 7 on a 32-bit PC.

Windows 8 and Windows 10 provide a much simpler USB-485M driver installation procedure:

1) Insert the mini-CD into the PC’s CD drive.

2) For Windows7, Windows8, or Windows10 PCs, double-click the folder named

“USB-485M_Drivers_Win_7_8_8.1_10”.

(if using an earlier version of Windows, double-click the folder

“USB-485M_Drivers_Win_XP_Server 2003_Vista_7_8_8.1”)

3) For 64-bit machines, double-click the file CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe.

For 32-bit machines, double-click the file CP210xVCPInstaller_x86.exe.

4) Follow the prompts to install the appropriate USB-485M driver. The Installer will

reference the chip-set manufacturer: Silicon Laboratories, Inc.
