What is VMware vCloud Suite?
VMware vCloud Suite is a package that includes VMware’s market-leading
vSphere® Enterprise Plus hypervisor with VMware’s hybrid cloud management
platform, VMware vRealize® Suite. VMware’s new portable licensing units allow
vCloud Suite to build and manage both vSphere-based private clouds as well
as multi-vendor hybrid clouds.
VMware vCloud Suite contains these integrated products:
• VMware vSphere: Industry leading server virtualization platform.
• VMware vRealize Suite Cloud Management Platform
– VMware vRealize Automation™: Self-service, policy-based infrastructure
and application provisioning and lifecycle management for virtual, physical,
and public cloud environments.
– VMware vRealize Operations™: Intelligent performance, capacity,
and configuration management for multi-vendor environments.
– VMware vRealize Business™ for Cloud: Automated costing, usage
metering, and service pricing of multi-vendor virtualized environments.
Best Management for the Software-Defined Data Center
The vRealize Suite Cloud Management Platform (CMP) is the management
control plane for the Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC). Native
integrations across VMware technologies makes vRealize Suite the best choice
for organizations building out a hybrid cloud based on VMware virtualization
technologies.
Seamless integration across vRealize Suite management products allows
advanced hybrid cloud management capabilities, across private and public cloud,
such as sophisticated placement mechanism, capacity and costing, and so on.
VMware vRealize cloud management products are also natively integrated
with VMware SDDC: VMware vSphere, VMware NSX® and VMware vSAN™.
NSX constructs such as virtual routers, load balancers and firewalls can be
embedded in a service templated (Blueprints) created in vRealize Automation,
and instantiated and changed on demand in the context of the running
application, based on business needs.
