This gives you the ability to continuewith your daily activities throughout the house or yard and at the same timemonitor your baby.The Pare n t ’s Unit (Receiver) remains with you wherever you go to pick up thesounds that are transmitted from the Baby’s Unit. It conveniently clips to yourbelt or easily stands on a table.Both units are completely portable or AC powered. The AC Adapter allows thereceiver and transmitter to be plugged into any standard electrical outlet for usewith your household electricity. Fe at u r es and Co m po n e nt sWATER AND MOISTURE: The Nursery Monitor should not be used near water, for example, near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchensink, laundry tub, in a wet basement, near a swimming pool, etc.V E N T I L AT I O N :The Nursery Monitor should be placed so that its location or position does not interf e r e with proper ventilationfor the unit. For example, it should N E V E R be situated on a bed, sofa, rug or similar surface that may block ventilation.H E AT: The Nursery Monitor should be kept away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other appliancesthat produce heat.AC POWER SOURC E : The Nursery Monitor should be connected only to the AC Adapters supplied with the unit.P O WER CORD PROT E C T I O N : The power supply cord should be routed so that it is not likely to be walked on or pinched byitems placed upon or against it. Pay particular attention to the cord at the plug, convenience receptacle, and at the point itexits from the AC adapters.C L E A N I N G : Use a dry cotton cloth to keep the Nursery Monitor free from dust. DO NOT USE WAT E R !NON-USE PERIODS: The power cord of the Nursery Monitor should be unplugged from the outlet when unused for longperiods of time. Follow these instructions to operate your Clear Connection Rechargeable Monitor. Reference the illustrations provided onpages 2 and 3 for the location of all features described in these instructions. Ba b y’s Un i t :STEP 1 Remove screw from battery cover on Baby’s Unit (Transmitter) and remove cover.STEP 2 I n s e r t a 9-volt battery into the battery compartment by snapping the battery con-tacts into the corresponding connectors on the battery clip in the unit.  (Figure 1)No te : The low battery indicator illuminates when the batteries need to be re p l a c e d .STEP 3 Replace the battery cover and insert and tighten the scre w.STEP 4 Plug the adapter into an electrical outlet, then plug the round end of the adapter into the Baby’s UnitNo te : If you experience a power failure, the Baby’s Unit (Transmitter) will automatically switch to battery power. The unit will re v e r t to AC power when power is re s t o re dSTEP 5 Set the On/Off switch to “On” position. Power on indicator should be illuminated.STEP 6 Set the Baby’s unit to setting “A”. If you experience static or noise interf e r ence, switch both units to setting “B”. For best results, place the Baby’s Unit on a table near the crib. Itconnects to the AC Adapter Jack in the Baby’s Unit, and plugs into any standardelectrical outlet in your home.Caution: This adapter was made with a specific design for Safety 1st ClearConnection Rechargeable Monitor. Low battery indicator will illuminate when it is time to re c h a r ge the battery. Place the receiver in battery stand making sure it is seated pro p e r l yWe recommend that you re c h a r ge the battery overnight. The receiver will operate while re c h a rg i n g .The AC Adapter should be used on the Baby’s Unit whenever possible to increase the life of the batteries. Unit will automati-cally convert to AC operation when used with the AC Adapter. It is not necessary to remove batteries during AC operation.Unit will automatically switch back to battery power when disconnected from the adapter. Pa re n t’s Un i t : Initial Ch a rg i n gIt is very important that you place the Pare n t ’s Unit (Receiver) with the unit turned “Off” in the charging stand. Al l o w bat te r yto charge for at least 4 hours be fo r e first use. This will ensure that your battery is fully charged. The green LED light on thec h a r ging stand will illuminate when the receiver is placed into it and the charging contacts are engaged. Using the Pa re n t’s Un i t :STEP 1 Place the Pare n t ’s Unit at least 10 feet from the Baby’s Unit. STEP 2 Place the charging stand in a location where the Receiver will remain in high use, for example, bedroom, kitchen, etc.STEP 3 Plug the charging stand into electrical outlet. STEP 4 When the Receiver is in the charging stand, the battery will continue to charge during normal operation. STEP 5 Tu r n the Pare n t ’s Unit “OFF” and leave unit in charging stand when not in use. This will allow the battery to receive a complete charg e .No te : If you experience a power failure, the Pare n t ’ s Unit (Receiver) will automatically switch to battery power. The unit will re v e r t to AC power when power is re s t o re d .STEP 6 Set the Pare n t ’ s Unit to setting “A”. If you experience static or noise interf e r ence, switch both units to setting “B”.No te : C o n f i r m the Pare n t ’s Unit and Baby’s Unit are set to the same setting (A or B). Adjust the volume so you can hear yourbaby at all times.LED Sound Level Light Indicato r sThe three (3) LED’s in the center of the Pare n t ’s Unit light up to display the sound level coming from your baby. These soundlevel indicators are preset in the factory and are not affected by the volume setting. This feature allows you to see the re l a t i v evolume level of your baby’s sounds. It is most effective if you are in a noisy environment and may not be able to hear thesounds clearly. The louder the sound, the more LED’s will light up.  Using the AC Ad a p te rRe c h a rging the Bat te r yReplacing the Re c h a r geable Bat te r yThe Parent's Unit (Receiver) re q u i r es 1 Ni-Cad re c h a r geable 3.6volt,300 mAh battery pack. To ensure that you are purc h a s i n gthe proper replacement battery pack, we recommend that you bring the existing battery pack with you to re f e rence. It is criti-cal that the connector on the end of the battery pack is identical to the connector on the enclosed battery pack. (Figure 4)STEP 5 S c r ew the battery door back on to the Parent's Unit (Receiver). Ensure that the door is securely fastened.STEP 6 Place the Parent's Unit (Receiver) in the charging stand with the unit turned "OFF". Al l ow the bat te r y to charge for at least 4 hours prior to use.Figure 2 Figure 3

Even though you may hear your baby’s sounds, proper use of this systemre q u i r es that both units must be on the same channel. If the units are on diff e rent channels, the signals from the Baby’s Unit may still be strong enough to be picked up by the Pare n t ’s Unit, but there will be a lot of static.•When unit is not in use, remove AC Adapter and be sure the power dial is “Off ” .•Use your Baby’s Unit AC Adapter when you will be in the same location for most of the day. Use of the adapter provides maximum power to the unit and provides additional antenna length.•When using the AC Adapter with household electricity, make sure the outlet has power.  Some electrical outlets are p o w e r ed through a wall switch in the room. If the Baby’s Unit is plugged in and turned “On”, the power indicator light should be lit. If it is not, try turning the wall switch in the room “On”.
