POWER CORD PROTECTION: The power supply cord should be routed so that it is not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against it. Pay particular attention to the cord at the plug, convenience receptacle, and at the point it exits from the Monitor. NOTE: Do not place adapter under a window where a child might use it to step on and reach something that might be dangerous. CLEANING: Use a dry cotton cloth to keep the Monitor free of dust. Do Not Use Water. NON-USE PERIODS: The power cord of the Monitor should be unplugged from the outlet when unused for a long period of time. Battery should be removed from Parent Unit. CHANNEL SELECTION The Monitor can broadcast over two preset factory frequencies or channels (an on Parent Unit and an: on Baby Unit). Use setting “I" making sure that both units are set to "I”. It should be facing the baby's head as close to the crib as possible, but out of baby‘s reach. The Parent Unit should be placed at least 10 feet / 3 meters away from the Baby Unit. The Baby Unit operates on household electricity with the AC Adapter only. The Parent Unit will automatically convert to AC operation when used with the AC Adapter. It is not necessary to remove the battery during AC operation. The Parent Unit will automatically switch back to battery power when disconnected from the AC Adapter. AC ADAPTER The AC Adapter should be used whenever possible on the Parent Unit to save battery life. This Is done by inserting the AC Adapter (315) into the AC Adapter Jack (3:3). Then simply plug the AC Adapter into a nearby standard household outlet. BATTERY USE ‘ To place battery into the Parent Unit, remove the screw from the Battery Compartment (#4 on the Parent Unit). Rotate Battery Compartment Cover out and away (rorn the Unit. Insert a 9 volt alkaline battery by snapping the battery contacts into the corresponding connectors on the battery clip. Make sure that it is secure. Replace the Battery Compartment Cover and tighten screw. To obtain maximum partorrnance, ALWAYS use alkll a type batteries In this monitor. POWER NDICATOR The power in'dlcator (3:9 on the Parent Unit and $311 on the Baby Unit) is a green LED that indicates that the unit is on and functioning. Low battery power is indicated by the red LED (”3 on the Parent Unit), which signals when the battery needs to be replaced. VOLUME INSTRUCTIONS Volume can be easily adjusted to any desired listening level by rotating the Volume Dial ($2). so you can be sure to hear your baby at all times. The sounds are transmitted through the wide range speaker ($6). ANTENNA Both Units contain an antenna that requires no adjustment. Slide your fingers up the antenna to straighten it. A CAUTION ~ When using battery, check battery indicator regularly. Red LED indicates the battery is low. DO NOT rely on Parent Unit when battery is low.
