Besides the basic calling function, the phone will provide you with diversified and practical functions, such as the smart Chinese-English input method, business-card phonebook, personal 64-chord incoming call ringtones, incoming call photo, clock/alarm clock, camera, music player, video player, U-disk, Memory card(T-flash card), recorder, calculator, function of timely powering-on/off, to-do list, GPRS access to network, MMS, hand-free call and so on for your convenient work and leisure activities. Indicate the main battery capacity. The more bars are, the more sufficient battery capacity is. The alarm clock is activated; the icon will not appear if the alarm clock is deactivated. The keypad is locked. This icon will appear if the keypad is not locked. There is unread message, the icon will not appear if there is not unread message or the memory capacity is not full. There is unread MMS, the icon will not appear if there is not unread message or the memory capacity is not full. There will be two states shown if you power the phone on without SIM card inserted: “Inserting SIM card” ―show that there is no SIM card, but you can call 112 numbers. “Unlock” ― if you set the phone lock and SIM card password. After the SIM card is inserted, the phone will automatically check whether the SIM card is available or not, the screen will display the prompts in sequence as follows: 1. “Input phone lock password” ―if you set the phone lock. 2. “Input PIN” ― if you see the SIM card 16 User's Guide password. 3. “Limited to emergency call (limited to calling 112)” ―show that the other network is registered onto and only 112 numbers can be dialed out. 4. “Search” ― the phone will search until the appropriate network is uplinked. 3.2 Installation and Pull-out of Battery (Please secure that the phone is powered off) Pulling out battery according procedures as follows: Firstly, pull out the outer cover of the battery downwards; And then, pull out the battery by lifting the lower end of the battery. Installing the battery according to the procedures as follows: When at installation, clamp the upper end of the battery in the socket, push the lower end of the battery till the battery cannot be pushed, finally, push the battery 17 User's Guide cover onto the socket till hearing the “click” sound. 3.3 Installation and Pull-out of SIM Card This version is a mono-standby phone which can be inserted with SIM card. Power off the phone, and remove the battery and other external power supply. Insert the SIM card with the metal end towards inside and metal surface downwards in parallel. When you want to pull out the SIM card, firstly power the phone off, remove the battery and pull out the SIM card from socket. 3.4 Installation and Pull-out of Memory Card The phone supports the T-Flash card (otherwise purchased), which is a multimedia memory card used to multiple the memory of the phone. The T-flash card is small and should be pulled out and installed 18 User's Guide carefully and prudently in order to avoid in damaging. Note: if the T-Flash card is not a type of plug and play, the prompt will not pop up. T-Flash card is installed as follows: 1. You will see the slot for card after opening the rear cover and pulling out the battery. 2. Open the cover outside the slot for the T-Flash card outwards, align and insert the T-Flash card in the slot with the T-Flash chip in the slot till it cannot be pushed. 3. Finally cover the slot for the T-Flash card 3.5 Use Method of USB&Data Cable This version supports the USB interface. You can connect your phone with the PC via the USB&data cable, copying or moving the files amid the phone and PC, or browsing the images, record files and video files saved in the phone via the PC. The USB& data cable is used as follows: inserting one terminal of it in the USB interface of PC and connect the other 19 User's Guide terminal of it to the Charge/USB&data Cable Interface at the right side of the phone. 3.6 Web Camera This version supports the Web Camera function and you can perform as follows: First, if windows 98/2000/XP operating system is configured in your PC, please install the web camera driver firstly as follows: Place the driver dist in the PC, power the phone off, insert the USB&data cable in the interface at the right side of the pone, select Web Camera in the popped USB setting menu, press OK , pop up the dialog box of Guide for Newly Found Hardware, press Next, set up the designated position as the driver disk by selecting the default value, press Next to finish, and then you can enter in the web camera. 20 User's Guide 3.7 Charging Battery 1. Insert the adapter in the power supply. 2. Insert the connector of the adapter in the Adapter/USB data cable port at the right side of the phone. And this time, the battery capacity indicating icon at the left-up corner of the phone screen can flash. 3. If the phone is powered off at charging, the screen will display the charging animation which means the phone is at charging state. 4. If the power is still used when the battery capacity is insufficient, it will take a long time for the charging indication icon to be shown on the screen. 5. When the charging indication icon at the right-up corner of the phone screen does not flash and displays that the battery is charged fully. If the phone is charged when powered off, the icon of full battery capacity will display on 21 User's Guide the phone screen. Generally, it takes 2-3 hours for the charging process. 6. During the charging, the heated battery, phone and adapter are normal. 7. After finishing charging, please disconnect the AC power supply socket and phone with the adapter. Caution: It is not recommended to insert USB line and charger at the same time; The battery of this version is charged by approximately 50% capacity and can be used after being unpacked. Please use the battery after thoroughly using up the battery capacity and charging the battery fully for the first time; and use it after thoroughly using up the battery capacity and charging the battery fully, thus the battery will attain the optimal use status easily after this procedure is repeated for three times. 22 User's Guide 3.8 Use Earphone When you insert the earphone in the earphone socket on the side of the phone, the phone will automatically be switched to the earphone mode. With the configuration of the self-answering call, you can answer the incoming call via earphone. 3.9 Security Password 3.9.1 PIN PIN (Personal Identical Number) can prevent the other persons from using your SIM card without your approval. 3.9.2 PIN2 When you enter in the Call Toll and Fixed Dial, please contact with the network operator in order to 23 User's Guide determine whether your SIM card supports such functions. If the PIN 2 is wrongly input for successively 3 times, the PIN 2 will be locked and can be unlocked by inputting the PUK 2. The PIN 2 may be supplied along with the SIM card. 3.9.3 PUK The PUK (Personal Unlock Key) is required to input if the locked PIN is to be unlocked. 3.9.4 Phone Password You can set the password for your phone in order to prevent the phone from being used illegally. When this function is selected, you should input the phone password at each time of powering the phone on and then you can dial in or dial out. The subscriber can cancel the phone password, but the subscriber cannot prevent the phone from being used illegally. Input the phone password, delete the 24 User's Guide wrongly-input numbers with the touch pencil and finish the input by pressing the OK key. For example, if your phone password is set as1122, you can input 1122. Providing that you forget your phone password, you should contact with your detailer or the local authorized maintenance &service center, which will unlock your phone password. 25 User's Guide Guidance for Quick Use 4.1 Calling Function You can conduct the emergency call service at any country where the digital GSM network is utilized if you are within the coverage of the network (you can know by checking the indicating bar of network signal strength at the up-left corner of the phone screen). “Emergency Call only “will display on your phone screen if your network supplier does not provide the roaming service at the present area in telling you that you can conduct the emergency call only. You can make an emergency call even if the phone is not inserted the SIM card if you are within the coverage of the network. 4.1.1 Dial The information bar at the up-left corner of the 26 User's Guide display screen shows the network signal strength (wherein, 4 information bars indicate the maximum information signal). A move within a small range can enhance the signal strength effectively because the calling quality is greatly subject to the barriers. Please press the key of switching both SIM cards to dial under the dual-card mode before dialing. Dial in ways as follows: Directly dial the number to make a call: enter in the dialing window. Click the numerical keys with the touch pencil or press the corresponding numerical keys to input the phone numbers to be dialed in the cursor-inputting box. And then click the dialing icon with the touch pencil or press the dial key to dial out. Dial the number listed in the phonebook: Under the stand-by mode, press the right soft key to enter the phonebook menu, and then click the Option button or press the left soft key to select it, viewing the contact info. Press the dial key to dial out. Dial the number in the call log: under the stand-by 27 User's Guide mode, press the left soft key to enter the main menu, and then press the navigation keys to select the Call Log, then enter in the Missed Call, Dialed Call and Received Call window in the call log, select the log with the touch pencil, enter in the Call Option window and directly click the Dial button with the touch pencil to dial out directly. 4.1.2 Status of Dialing input any numerical key, entering the dialing status while the signal and battery capacity indicators are displayed and a flashing vertical line prompts the location of the cursor. When inputting and dialing, you can perform: Press the dial key with the touch pencil to dial the input phone number to activate SIM card 1 or dial phone number with SIM card 2 . 28 User's Guide 4.1.3 Status of Dialing out Under the dialing window, press the dial key to enter the status of dialing out after inputting the phone number. If the phone number is not listed in the phonebook, the phone number of the opposite party will display, or otherwise the name will display. If the phone number is saved in the phone, the type (phone/home/office ), E-mail, big head icon for incoming call and group will display. During the dialing out, press the end key to hang up the present call during the dialing course. 4.1.4 Answering Incoming Calls When there is an incoming call from the opposite party, the phone enters the incoming call window, rings or vibrates based on the present ring settings. 29 User's Guide 4.1.5 View Missed Incoming Calls You can select the Call Log in the main menu window, click the Call Log with the touch pencil or press the left soft key to select it, select a missed cal to view it under the call log list. 4.1.6 Dial Domestic Calls You can dial out simply: input the phone number with the numerical keys (please affix the district number if you dial the domestic phone number), and then press the dial key or click the Dialing icon with the touch pencil to dial out. If you need to alter the phone number, you can cancel a number or character previous to the cursor with the touch pencil or move the cursor to the position of the character or numbers to be removed to delete or alter it with the left and right navigation keys. You can click Delete button with the touch pencil or press the right soft key to select it, 30 User's Guide modifying the character or number. The screen will display that the phone is under the dialing-out and will display the call status information if the opposite party hangs up the phone. Please press the end key to terminate the call after the call is ended. Dial the domestic call: district number + phone number +Dial Key. 4.1.7 Dial Fixed Extension Telephone Some fixed extension phone cannot be dialed out directly. You are required to dial the telephone exchange firstly and dial the extension phone secondly. If you interpolate the character “P” for pause between the telephone exchange and the extension phone when you input the phone number, the phone will finish all the dialing procedures and dial the extension phone out for you automatically. The character “P” is input as follows: under the dialing window, input the character 31 User's Guide “P” by pressing “*” for three times after the phone number is input. Dial the fixed extension phone as follows: District number + telephone exchange number + “P” + extension phone number + Dial Key 4.1.8 Dial International Calls Under the dialing window, input “+” by pressing “*” key for two times and display the affix “+” of the international long-distance call. This allows you to dial out from any country when you do not know the international call affix of the local region (such as, 00 for the international call affix of China). After input the affix, input the integral phone number with the country code. Dial the international call as follows: “+” country code + integral phone number + Dial Key 32 User's Guide 4.1.9 Call Option Under the calling window, click the Option with the touch pencil or press the left soft key to select it to enter in the call option window. The call option can be discovered only during the call, furthermore the functions, such as Incoming Call Forward , Call to Many, Call Hold , Call Waiting and so on, require the support of the network, so please contact with your network supplier for these functions. You can operate under the call option menu as follows: Pause: temporarily stoop a call in the Call To Many operation. End: end the current call. New call: temporarily stop a call and dial a new call in the Call to Many. Phonebook: enter in the phonebook menu. SMS: enter in the SMS menu. Recorder: record the call. Mute/Recovery: open or close the mute mode. 33 User's Guide DTMF: send the DTMF signal Distorted voice: Set the call voice mode; the opposite party will hear the alternated voice based on the setting Note: 1. some menu options can only pop up under the specific conditions or are required the support of the local network. 4.1.10 Adjust Volume Press the up & down left side key to tune up the volume of the microphone. 4.2 Input Text The phone has 7 input methods in total, respectively, Smart English Lower Case Letter, Smart English Capital Letter, English Capital Letter, English Lower Case Letter and Number in addition to the handwriting input method. Under the text input window, click the input method icon at the bottom of the screen with the 34 User's Guide touch pencil or press the “#” key to select from the different input methods. You can click to move the cursor for the editing position with the touch pencil at the editing area where the cursor flashes. The functions of the following 4 commonly-used icons are: : input a space character; : evoke the handwriting input keypad; :evoke the punctuation keypad; :line feed; Hereinafter the input methods are introduced. 4.2.1 Handwriting Input Method Under the window, handwrite to input the Chinese characters, capital and lowercase English letters and numbers. Click the input method at the bottom of the screen with the touch pencil to select the corresponding input method. The displayed characters by handwriting are the characters shown by the icon. 35 User's Guide 4.2.2 Smart English Capital Letter Input Method Click the ABC icon with the touch pencil or press the # key to select the Smart Capital English Input Method. You can get the wanted capital English letters by pressing the corresponding numerical keys to input the English letters according to the word sequence or handwrite to input the capital English letters. This input method will analyze the input English letters automatically and display the right words automatically, speeding up the input. 4.2.3 Smart English Lowercase Letter Input Method Click the abc icon with the touch pencil or press the # key to select the Smart Lowercase English Input 36 User's Guide Method. You can get the wanted lowercase English letters by pressing the corresponding numerical keys to input the English letters according to the word sequence or handwrite to input the lowercase English letters. This input method will analyze the input English letters automatically and display the right words automatically, speeding up the input. 4.2.4 English Capital Letter Input Method Click the ABC icon with the touch pencil or press# key to select the Capital English Input Method. You can get the wanted capital English letters by pressing the corresponding numerical keys to input the English letters according to the word sequence or handwrite to input the capital English letters. 37 User's Guide 4.2.5 English Lowercase Input Method Click the abc icon with the touch pencil or press the # key to select the Lowercase English Input Method. You can get the wanted capital English letters by pressing the corresponding numerical keys to input the English letters according to the word sequence or handwrite to input the lowercase English letters. 4.2.6 Number Input Method Click the 123 icon with the touch pencil or press the # key to select the Number Input Method. You can input the wanted numbers or handwrite to input the numbers. 38 User's Guide 5.1 Functional Menu File Management Under the main menu window, click File Management Icon with the touch pencil or press the left soft key to select it, entering in the file management window. In the file management menu, you can view the data saved in the T-Flash card. After the T-Flash card is inserted, there are 3 operating window pertaining to the file: Open, New and Formatting. Please confirm the store path when opening the folder. Total capacity: T-Flash card-based extension capacity Ring file: mp3/midi/amr/wav Image file: BMP, GIF and JPG Video file: AVI,3GP.MP4 Graphics file: support setting the graphics file as wallpaper. Ringtone File: set the incoming call ringtone. 39 User's Guide 5.2 Phonebook With the phone, you can use the business card phonebook. The phone can save 300 phone numbers and the quantity of the saved phone numbers in the SIM card is depended on the SIM card. The IP dialing function is supported. Under the main menu window, click the Phonebook with the touch pencil or press the up and down navigation keys to select it, enter in the phonebook window to perform: 5.2.1 Add New Contact Under phonebook window, click the Add button with the touch pencil or press the left soft key to select it. After selecting the store position with the up and down navigation keys or the up and down left side key, press the Edit menu to enter in the window of inputting the name and phone number, select the Finish menu in the option menu and press the OK button after finishing 40 User's Guide input. And then, if selecting NO button, not save the input information and return to the phonebook window; if selecting the Yes button, save the input information. Now you can enter in the detailed contact info window if it is a phone number saved, and you can continue to edit other info entries under the detailed contact info window. Under the detailed contact info window, after finishing inputting all the information, click the Finish button with the touch pencil or press the left soft key to select it, click the Yes button with the touch pencil or press the left soft key to select it, saving the added contact. Click the NO button with the touch pencil or press the right soft key to select it, not saving the added contact and returning to the phonebook window. 5.3 Entertainment and Games From the standby interface, press the left soft key or the OK key of the directional keys and then choose Entertainment and Games to enter the interface. Under Games menu, there are two or three 41 User's Guide color-displayed dynamic games (the content varies with the model). Background sound effects, sound effects and vibration can be set for the games. ¾ After entering into a game, in light of the prompts on the screen, you can start a new game, inquire the rank of top scores, or get to know the rules through Help. ¾ Pause is allowed in the middle of playing and confirmation is required before exit. The game automatically pauses if there is an incoming message or call. ¾ Press the right soft key to pause. ¾ The right soft key can also be used for upgrade, win, game-over and rank. Different sound effects are applied to indicate win, game-over, gaining or loosing scores, or getting listed. Java:Through Java, you can set some programs to expand the function of the phone, such as chat, game ,electronic book, stock software ,etc . The phone only support jar and jad format(some software need both of them) game ,electronic book, stock software ,etc . With the MMS service, you can send the message containing images, voices and texts. When you are sending MMS, your addressee should use a phone with MMS function to see your MMS. Create MMS Select Create MMS and input the related MMS: ¾ Addressee: set the phone number or E-mail of addressee. ¾ Copy to: set the phone number and E-mail to be copied to. ¾ BCC: set the phone number or E-mail to be copied to secretly. ¾ Subject: set the MMS subject. ¾ Edit: edit the MMS; the subscriber can add the text, image, voice and attachment, or add new page before, add new page after, add bookmark text, preview, interval(s).
