90-DAY LIMITED WARRANTY EXCALIBUR ELECTRONICS, INC., warrants to the original consumer that its products are free from any electrical or mechanical defects for a period of 90 DAYS from the date of purchase. If any such defect is discovered within the warranty period, EXCALIBUR ELECTRONICS, INC., will repair or replace the unit free of charge upon receipt of the unit, shipped postage prepaid and insured to the factory address below. The warranty covers normal consumer use and does not cover damage that occurs in shipment or failure that results from alterations, accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, wear and tear, inadequate maintenance, commercial use, or unreasonable use of the unit. This warranty does not cover cost of repairs made or attempted outside of the factory. Any applicable implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness, are hereby limited to 90 DAYS from the date of purchase. Consequential or incidental damages resulting from a breach of any applicable express or implied warranties are hereby excluded. Some states do not allow limitations on the duration of LIMITED 90-DAY WARRANTY implied warranties and do not allow exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions in these instances may not apply. Include a letter, detailing the complaint and including your daytime telephone number, inside the shipping carton. If your warranty has expired and you want an estimated fee for service, write to the above address, specifying the model and the problem. NOTE: Please do not send your unit without first receiving an estimate for servicing from EXCALIBUR ELECTRONICS, INC. Contact us before sending your unit. We cannot store your unit! FEATURES - Wide range radio controller specifically designed for outdoor flight. 0 Built-in Ni-MH rechargeable battery that connects to AC adapter for quick and easy charging (helicopter only). 0 Charging indicator light (green) turns OFF when the helicopter is fully charged. CONTROLLER BATTERY AND ANTENNA INSTALLATION 1. Remove the screw on the back of the controller with a philips-head screw driver and pull the battery cover off of the remote. 2. Install 8 "AA" alkaline batteries as shown in the diagram. 3. Replace the battery cover and screw. 4. Screw in antenna. CHARGING THE HELICOPTER 1. Turn the power switch to the Off position 2. Insertthe charger plug of the AC adapter into the charger socket and plug the adapter in a wall socket. Helicopter battery takes about 3 hours to fully charge. Do not over-charge. Keep battery temperature under 45°C/l 13° F while charging to prevent damage. FLIGHT TIPS 0 Fly only in warm weather with no wind 0 Do not fly your helicopter in bad weather or extreme temperatures 0 Do not fly in strong winds or extreme weather such as thunder, lightning, rain snow or ice storm. 0 It is recommended that you operate the helicopter in a wide outdoor space. Allow at least a 30-feet radius range. -The helicopter is designed for OUTDOOR USE ONLY. Never pilot the helicopter near buildings, power lines, people, animals, vehicles, homes, trees or other large objects nearby. 0 Make sure you are not wearing any loose or long hanging clothing. 0 Parental guidance or adult supervision is suggested at all times. - If you are flying helicopter with others, make sure all spectators are behind you. FLIGHT PREPARATION 1. Pull out the controller’s antenna 2. Turn on the controllers power switch, the red LED light indicates power is on. 3. Turn on the Sky Crawler’s power switch and place on the ground in an open area you intend to fly. 4. Make sure you and the controller are at least 30 feet away from the helicopter before operating. 5. Visually confirm the fly area is free from all obstacles, people and animals and it is safe to fly without injury. FCC STATEMENT This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: - Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. - Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. - Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. - Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. HELICOPTER DIAGRAM Below is a basic list of features and parts on the helicopter. Power Indicator Throttle Control Direction Control Power ON/OFF NOTE: When flying your Sky Crawler with other helicopters, be sure to set each device to different channels to avoid interruptions in flight or performance. See back panel for additional precautions. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS IMPORTANT: ALWAYS DISCONNECT CHARGER CORD AFTER CHARGING. NEVER LEAVE CHARGER CONNECTED TO HELICOPTER OVERNIGHT OR FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME. HELICOPTER WARNING: The helicopter blades revolve at high speeds and can cause damage to the user or spectators. Stand away from the helicopter to reduce the risk of getting into the flight path. Warn spectators that you will be flying your helicopter so that they are aware of its position. Before flight, inspect the rotor blades to make certain that the blades are securely fastened to the helicopter. WARNING! - Choking/Cutting Hazard. Small Parts/Sharp Rotor Blades. - Keep hands, hair and loose clothing away from the propeller when the power switch is turned to the ON position. 0 Turn off the transmitter and helicopter power switches when not in use. °The remote charger is built specifically for the helicopters Ni-MH battery. Do not use it to charge any other battery. 0 New alkaline batteries are recommended for maximum performance. ° Parental supervision recommended for flight. BATTERY WARNINGS RECHARGEABLE BATTERY: This helicopter uses an internal Ni-MH rechargeable battery and is not replaceable. If battery no longer stays charged, dispose of battery properly according to local disposal requirements. CONTROLLER BATTERIES: Controller requires 8 ""AA batteries (not included). Please read the important battery safety warning below. 0 Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) and rechargeable (nickel-cadmium/ Ni-MH) batteries. ~ Do not mix old and new batteries. 0 Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. 0 Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the item before being charged (if removable). 0 Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision (if removable). 0 Exhausted batteries should be removed immediately and must be recycled or disposed of properly according to state or local government ordinances and regulations. °The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. 0 Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. 0 Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity (see inside booklet for diagram). 0 Do not dispose batteries in a fire - batteries may leak or explode. CARE AND MAINTENANCE - Always remove the batteries from the wireless radio controller when it is not being used for an extended period of time. °To clean, gently wipe the controller and helicopter with a clean damp cloth. 0 Keep the toy away from direct heat or sunlight. 0 Do not submerge the toy into water. Not for Children under 3 years. Made in China FLIGHT AND CONTROLS Below is a list of basic flight functions on your wireless remote and how they will effect your helicopter. While learning to fly your helicopter, it is best to start with a large open area until you get used to the basic controls. As you master flying the helicopter you can move to more advanced maneuvering. nee-a; Move the throttle control up to increase the speed of the main rotor and the helicopter will rise up. If? Move the throttle control down to decrease the speed of the main rotor and the helicopter will descend. are?“ Move the direction control left and right to change the helicopters direction from left to right. Note that the controls are reversed, to go left, press right on the thumbstick. To go right, press left. SHHGRHIIILBII” WIRELESS OUTDOOR HELICOPTER FLIGHT INSTRUCTION MANUAL Please Read This Instruction Booklet As It Contains Valuable Information On How To Properly Fly And Care For Your Helicopter. HELICOPTER FLIGHT ADJUSTMENTS If your helicopter uncontrollably rotates you may need to adjustthe Potentiometer. To do this stop the helicopter and carefully adjust with a small standard screwdriver (see below). If helicopter rotates counter-clockwise adjust the potentiometer counter-clockwise with a screwdriver. NAB—J Q , If helicopter rotates clockwise adjust the potentiometer clockwise with a screwdriver. TROUBLE SHOOTING Controller Doesn't 0 Power switch may be turned off. ' Turn power switch on. Respond 0 Batteries may be placed incorrectly. 0 Check battery placement 0 Batteries may below 0 Replace batteries. Can't Control Helicopter 0 Remote or helicopter may be turned off. 0 Turn Remote and/or helicopter on. 0 Antenna not extended. ' Extend antenna. 0 It may be too windy. 0 Do not fly in windy conditions. Helicopter Won't Lift 0 Main Rotor Blades are moving too slow. 0 Push the throttle stick fon/vard. 0 Helicopter battery may not be fully - Recharge helicopter battery. charged. Helicopter Lands too Hard or Too Fast 0 You may be pulling the throttle stick back too quickly. Slowly pull back on the throttle stick to acheive a smooth landing. ’If the helicopter blades are obstructed from rotating freely for any reason the product has a safety feature which turns off the motor. Once this happens you must first turn the power switch to the “Off" position and then turn the switch back to the “On" position to operate the product again.
