Transmitter Battery Installation 6. Hovercraft Battery Installation Ensure that the battery is fully charged before use. The included 9.6V Vehicle Battery is NOT charged prior to shipment, please charge for 8 hours (first two full charges) out of the box. fig.1 7. Air Curtain - Alkaline batteries are recommended. - Do not use rechargeable batteries. - Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. - Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. - Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity. - Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy. - The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. - Please keep this information for future reference. - Remove batteries from the product before extended storage. - Do not dispose of battery in fire, battery may explode or leak. Battery Compartment A. Forward /Braking Left Joystick: Up Right Joystick: Up - Forward 1. Turn OFF the Hovercraft. 2. Open the battery compartment cover by loosening the screw (fig.1), using a Philips Screwdriver (not included). 3. Plug in the battery pack’s white connector with the receptacle indicated in (fig.2). The white connector can only be inserted in one direction. 4. Replace the battery compartment cover (fig.3). 5. Turn ON the Hovercraft. The power switch is placed on top of the Hovercraft (Page. 8). 6. When not in use, turn the power switch OFF and remove the battery pack. C. Spinning Left Joystick: Up Right Joystick: Down - Spin Right Left Joystick: Down Right Joystick: Up - Spin Left Driving Tips 1. OPERATING ON LAND – Operate on flat, smooth surfaces. Operating on rough or broken ground, loose sand or rocks may damage the Hovercraft’s Air Curtain. 2. OPERATING ON WATER – Operate on calm, smooth water. The Hovercraft operates best on water clear of debris and vegetation. Ensure battery is fully charged before water operation for best results. Do not play upside down on water to prevent mal-function. 3. OPERATE ON SNOW – The Hovercraft operates best on compacted snow and ice. Page 2: Proper Use - Precautions and Care 1. Handle carefully, DO NOT drop it. Store in cool dry place and away from direct heat sources. Do not leave in direct sunlight for long periods as damage may occur. Suspension Blower Note: When replacing Transmitter battery: 1. Turn OFF the transmitter. 2. Open the battery compartment cover (back of transmitter) by loosening the screw (fig.1), use a Philips Screwdriver (not included). 3. Place the 9V (6F22) battery (included) in the battery compartment, please follow the polarity indicated (fig.2). 4. Replace the battery compartment cover (fig.3). 5. Turn ON the transmitter. Red LED light indicates that the transmitter is on and functioning. CAUTI ON – ELECTRICALLY OPERATED: NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN UNDER 8 YEARS HANDLE WITH Support 3. Batteries are the foremost issue experienced with radio controlled vehicles, due to either weak batteries or batteries that have been installed incorrectly. Weak batteries – the vehicle exhibits slow response, slow speed or unpredictable behavior. Issue – No response or slow movements - Ensure that the ON/OFF switch is in the “ON” position - Ensure that fresh alkaline battery is in the transmitter and has been installed correctly, sometimes giving it a nudge or reinserting the batteries may solve the issue. - Is the Rechargeable Battery Pack installed correctly in the vehicle? - (+) and (-) contacts in the Transmitter Battery Compartment MUST be aligned correctly with the (+) and (-) contacts on the Alkaline Battery. - (+) and (-) contacts in the Vehicle Battery Compartment MUST be aligned correctly with the (+) and (-) contacts on the Vehicle Battery Pack. - Are all battery contact points touching? Please ensure that the contact points are neither rusty nor dirty. Issue – Erratic or Unpredictable Behavior - If the vehicle moves by itself or exhibits reduced transmission range, please ensure that there is no external interference in the area. To do this, take the vehicles away from any power lines, tall buildings or radio towers to reduce radio interference. Issue – Short Battery Life Ensure that the battery is fully charged. The included 9.6V Vehicle Battery is NOT charged prior to shipment, please charge for 8 hours (first two full charges) out of the box. Subsequent charges will only require 4 hours. If the Battery Pack is Hot or Warm Please DO NOT recharge, allow the Vehicle Battery Pack to cool down before recharging, otherwise, it will reduce the life of the Vehicle Battery Pack. Damaged Vehicle Battery Pack Please DO NOT recharge if the Vehicle Battery Pack appears to be damaged or leaking. When NOT in use Always unplug Vehicle Battery Pack Charger from the power outlet. Always remove any batteries from the Transmitter and the Vehicle. Battery Safety Precautions DO NOT dispose any type of batteries in fire, leakage, explosion and personal injury may occur. Dispose of Rechargeable Battery Packs properly. DO NOT take apart Rechargeable Battery Packs. DO NOT use the Battery Charger other than instructed in this Owner’s Manual. Adult supervision strongly recommended when charging batteries. DO NOT attempt jumps or crashes with this vehicle as this may dislodge the battery connections. ECHO TECHNOLOGIES warrants to the original consumer that this product will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for thirty (30) days from the date of purchase. The included 9.6V Vehicle Battery is NOT charged prior to shipment, please charge for 8 hours (first two full charges) out of the box. 1. Vehicle requires a 9.6V Rechargeable battery pack (included). 2. To charge the 9.6V Rechargeable battery pack, first plug the charger into a household standard power outlet. 3. Attach the battery pack’s white connector to the battery charger’s matching connector. 4. Flashing green light indicates battery pack is charging. Green light keep on indicates the battery is fully charged. 5. Allow the battery pack to charge for a minimum of 8 hours on the initial two charges. Subsequent charges will only require around 4 hours.Please unplug the battery charger once the battery is fully charged. 6. A full charge will last approximately 15 minutes of continuous play, depending on terrain and driving style. 7. If the Hovercraft slows down during play, this may indicate low battery power, therefore it would be necessary to recharge the battery. 8. Wait at least 10 minutes until the battery pack has cooled down before charging. 9. Recharging a warm battery pack will greatly reduce the life of the battery pack. 10. If you leave the battery pack charging for too long, the battery pack may cause burns or fire. 11. If Battery Pack and/or Charger are wet, thoroughly dry before charging. Battery Charger for use by children-Instruction - CAUTION: Only allow children at least 8 years old to use the battery charger. Give sufficient instruction so that the child is able to use the battery charger in a safe way and explain that it is not a toy. - Instruct the child not to try and recharge non-rechargeable batteries because of the danger of explosion. - Examine the battery charger regularly for damage, especially the cord ,plug and enclosure. If the battery charger is damaged , it must not be used until it has been repaired. Special Note: 1. Ensure that the charger's voltage meets your local standards. 2. Because of its unique design, other battery chargers will be unable to charge your RC Hovercraft battery pack.To charge your battery pack, use only the RC Hovercraft battery charger. 3. Please remember to monitor anything that is charging. Do not place flammable materials next to or anything that covers the battery pack. 4. Do not overcharge the battery pack, if the battery pack feels hot to the touch, please stop charging. 5. After repeated charging, the charging time may increase. 6. When using or charging the battery, please stop using the battery if you experience, an odd smell, sudden heat, deformation, discoloration or other abnormalities. 7. Battery charger for indoor use only. ATTENTION PARENTS:The Battery Charger & Battery Pack need to be periodically examined for potential hazards.
