Page 4 of 67 pages Document # E.0015.16.03 406984 1 Control Panel Description The Control Panel consists of an RF transceiver, a micro-controller, a non-volatile memory, a power supply, a user interface, a siren, a buzzer, a tamper switch and a battery. The Control Panel is composed of the following principal parts: • Mounting plate. • Control Panel unit with keypad, display, electronic assembly, siren, speaker, microphone, 4 LEDs and battery compartment. • 6 NiCd size AA batteries. • Wall mounted AC adapter (120 VAC to 9 VAC insulation transformer) The complete Control Panel and keyboard and an exploded view of the Control Panel are shown below.
Page 5 of 67 pages Document # E.0015.16.03 406984 1.1 FCC Compliance & Statements 1.1.1 FCC Part 15 Compliance Statement The FCC Wants You to Know This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: a) Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. b) Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. c) Connect the equipment to an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. d) Consult the dealer or an experienced radio technician. Instructions concerning human exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields. To comply with FCC Section 1.307 (b)(1) for human exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields, implement the following instruction: A distance of at least 20cm. between the equipment and all persons should be maintained during the operation of the equipment.

On the bottom of this equipment is a label that contains, among other information, a product identifier in the format US: AAAEQ##TXXXX. If requested this number must be provided to the telephone company. b. Facility Interface Codes (“FIC”): 02LS2. Service Order Codes (“SOC”): 9.0Y c. Screw terminals are used to connect this equipment to the premises wiring and telephone network must comply with the applicable FCC Part 68 rules and requirements adopted by the ACTA. It is designed to be connected to a compatible modular jack that is also compliant. For shared telephone line (premises telephones and security system) RJ31X junction box must be used at the telephone company cable entrance into the premises. d. REN - NA e. If the IA-CP1 Control Panel for security systems causes harm to the telephone network, the telephone company will notify you in advance that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. But if advance notice isn't practical, the telephone company will notify the customer as soon as possible. Also, you will be advised of your right to file a complaint with the FCC if you believe it is necessary. f. The telephone company may make changes in its facilities, equipment, operations or procedures that could affect the operation of the equipment. If this happens the telephone company will provide advance notice in order for you to make necessary modifications to maintain uninterrupted service. g. The control panel includes telephone line monitor that gives an alarm in case of the telephone line failure. i. Connection to party line service is subject to state tariffs. Contact the state public utility commission, public service commission or corporation commission for information. j If your premises has specially wired alarm equipment connected to the telephone line, ensure the installation of this IA-CP1 Control Panel for security systems does not disable your alarm equipment. If you have questions about what will disable alarm equipment, consult your telephone company or a qualified installer.

Page 12 of 67 pages Document # E.0015.16.03 406984 2 Installation Procedure 2.1 Battery Installation Remove screw to open Control Panel battery case cover. Insert 6 NiCd AA batteries. Replace screw. 2.2 RJ31X Connector Open the RJ31X connector to reveal eight screws. Cut the main telephone cable. Connect the red strand of the main telephone cable (Net Ring) to the red wire inside the RJ31X connector. Connect the green strand of the main telephone cable (Net Tip) to the green wire inside the RJ31X connector. Connect the yellow strand of the main telephone cable (Telco Ring) to the yellow wire inside the RJ31X connector. Connect the black strand of the main telephone cable (Telco Tip) to the black wire inside the RJ31X connector. Plug the short cable into the RJ31X connector. Connect the red strand of the main telephone cable (Net Ring) to the Net Ring terminal on the terminal block (see Section 1.4 below). Connect the green strand of the main telephone cable (Net Tip) to the Net Tip terminal on the terminal block (see Section 1.4 below). Connect the yellow strand of the main telephone cable (Telco Ring) to the Telco Ring terminal on the terminal block (see Section 1.4 below). Connect the black strand of the main telephone cable (Telco Tip) to the Telco Tip terminal on the terminal block (see Section 1.4 below). 2.3 Connectors J5 and J7 Connector J5 (marked on the Control Panel PCB) is an RJ11 connector. Connect it to the X-10 units in the system.

Connect it to the system computer (if any). 2.4 Connector J9 (Terminal Block) Connect the first GND terminal to the ground for the wired zone. Connect the WIRED ZONE terminal to the wired zone. Connect the PGM-1 and PGM-2 terminals to the PGM units in the system. Connect the EARTH terminal to the earth for the PGM units in the system. Connect the 9V AC-1 and 9V AC-2 terminals to the 9V mains transformer. Connect the second GND terminal to the ground for the 9V mains transformer. The remaining terminals (Telco Tip, Telco Ring, Net Tip, Net Ring) are already connected (see Section 1.2 above). Check all connections. Plug 9V mains transformer into 110V mains. System opening screen will be displayed. Proceed to Section 2 below.
Page 14 of 67 pages Document # E.0015.16.03 406984 3 Programming Procedure 3.1 General The functions performed by the Installer are implemented by means of the four keys at the top of the Control Panel and the numeric keypad. These functions are viewed from the Installer Menu, accessible from the Main Menu. 3.2 Installer Programming Functions To access the Main Menu, press OK at top of Control Panel when system is disarmed and opening screen is displayed. Screen will show: MAIN MENU 1: USER From this menu, press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to access the Installer menu. Screen will show: MAIN MENU 3: INSTALLER Press OK at top of Control Panel. An ENTER ID prompt will be displayed and an "Enter ID" voice prompt will sound. Enter your Installer ID. Note: The Installer functions can only be implemented by the system installer. If an ordinary User or Master ID or an incorrect code is entered for any Installer function, an INCORRECT ID prompt will be displayed and an "Incorrect ID" voice prompt will sound. After 1 second, an ENTER ID prompt will be displayed and an "Enter ID" voice prompt will sound. (After three incorrect ID entries, the system will respond with an INCORRECT ID prompt and an "Incorrect ID" voice message, followed by an ACCESS DENIED prompt and an "Access Denied" voice message, and access to the system from the Control Panel will be denied for a preprogrammed interval of time.)

If a pause of more than the number of minutes determined for the Installer Dialog timeout (INST. DLG. T/O) in Section 3.2.2 below (default: 20 minutes) occurs, the installation will be terminated and the opening screen will again be displayed, without saving the installation data. Note: At any point in any Installer function, pressing OK at top of Control Panel will move one level downward in the menu structure; pressing ESC at top of Control Panel will move one level upward in the menu structure. 3.2.1 Zone Options From the Installer menu, when you have entered your Installer ID, screen will show: INSTALLER MENU 1: ZONE OPTIONS There are many sub-functions within the Zone Options function. Before the first sub-function, it is necessary to define the zone for which the sub-function options are being programmed. In other words, when the system is first set up, the entire Zone Options function must be repeated for each zone. To define the zone, press OK at top of Control Panel. Screen will show: ZONE PROGRAMMING 1. Zn. Def. To define the zone (Enter Zone #), press OK at top of Control Panel. Screen will show: ENTER ZONE # 1 FRONT DOOR To confirm Zone 1 as the zone now being programmed, press OK at top of Control Panel. To change the default, key in the desired number on numeric keypad and press OK at top of Control Panel to proceed to next sub-function: Zone Enable. Screen will show:

To change the default from Enable to Disable, press OK at top of Control Panel (if Disable is displayed, press OK at top of panel to change to Enable) and then press DOWN key at top of Control Panel to proceed to next sub-function: Zone Type. Now press ESC key at top of Control Panel twice to return to Zone Programming menu and press DOWN key to proceed to next sub-function (unless a custom label is desired for this zone). If a custom label is desired for this zone, press ESC key at top of Control Panel once, and press DOWN key at top of Control Panel. Screen will show: 02: CUSTOM LABEL FRONT DOOR ↵ Press OK at top of Control Panel. The "F" in FRONT will blink. Using the numeric keypad like a cellular telephone keypad, change the "F" to the desired letter. The "R" will then blink. Repeat until the entire desired custom label has been keyed in. (To skip a letter, press DOWN key.) Now press OK at top of Control Panel. Now press ESC key at top of Control Panel to return to Zone Labels menu and press DOWN key to proceed to next sub-function: Zone Attributes. Screen will show: ZONE PROGRAMMING 3. Zn. Attributes Press OK at top of Control Panel. Screen will show: ENTER ZONE # 1 FRONT DOOR To select zone attributes for this zone, press OK at top of Control Panel. If the Control Panel receives no information from the sensor within a predefined time, screen will show: PU NOT FOUND Disconnect sensor from battery or mains and reconnect, and try again. If the same error message appears, replace the sensor. When zone enrollment is complete, proceed to Place Test as described below. 3.2.11 Place Test From the Enroll Zones menu as shown in Section 3.2.10 above, press DOWN key at top of Control Panel. Screen will show: INSTALLER MENU 11: PLACE TEST Note: This operation refers to the sensor for which Section 3.2.10 was just performed. Sections 3.2.10 and 3.2.11 must be performed for all sensors the first time the IntegrAlarm system is installed, and (under normal circumstances) need not be performed thereafter. When zone enrollment and place test are complete, proceed to the remaining Installer Menu options listed in Section 3.2.12 below. 3.2.12 Others From the Place Test menu as shown in Section 3.2.11 above, press DOWN key at top of Control Panel. Screen will show: INSTALLER MENU 12: OTHERS Press OK at top of Control Panel. Screen will show: OTHERS MENU 1: CLEAR EVENT LOG This option is used when the Event Logger is full. Press OK on top of Control Panel. Screen will show: DEL EVENTS OK To clear Event Logger, press OK at top of Control Panel. Events will be deleted and Others Menu will again be displayed. If clearing of Events Logger is not desired, press ESC at top of Control Panel twice to return to Others Menu and press DOWN key at top of Control Panel twice to reach the next sub-option, Factory Definitions. If OK is pressed, screen will briefly show: PLEASE WAIT… SAVING DATA Screen will then return to original display. This concludes the IntegrAlarm installation and programming process.
