Including a Device Into the Network
1. Select a group into which you wish to include the node using SELECT and/or SELECT .
Including a node into the network automatically includes it in the selected group.
2. Press the include/delete button by inserting a paper clip. The green LED will light solid and the
channel LED(s) will turn off.
3. Press SELECT . The green LED and the channel LED(s) should turn on solid.
4. Press the Learn button on the device you wish to include into the network within 10
seconds.
5. The Green LED should flash and then turn off, indicating the devices was successfully
included.
Controlling a Group of Devices
1. Select the group you wish to control using SELECT and/or SELECT . A group may contain
one device or multiple devices, and every device that is a member of the selected group
will be controlled.
2. Press Open, Close, or Stop to control the device(s) in the selected group.
Deleting a Device From the Network
1. Press the include/delete button. The green LED will light solid and the channel LED(s) will turn
off.
2. Press SELECT . The red LED on the top right of the remote will light solid.
3. Press the Learn button on the device you wish to delete from the network within 10
seconds.
4. The Green LED should flash and then turn off, indicating the devices was successfully
included.
Including a Device In a Scene
1. A device must be a part of the Z-Wave network before it can be included in a scene. Operate
the device, either manually or using the Open/Stop/Close buttons, to the position it should
move to when the scene is activated. Repeat for each device to be included into the scene.
2. Press and hold the Scene button corresponding to the scene number into which the device is to
be included.
3. Press SELECT to place the remote in Scene Include mode.
4. Press the Learn button on each device being learned, one at a time.
5. Press the Stop button on the remote or wait for the 10-second timeout to exit Scene Include
mode.
Deleting a Device From a Scene
1. Press and hold the Scene button corresponding to the scene number you wish to delete the
device from. A device may be included in multiple scenes, and can only be deleted from one
scene at a time.
2. Press SELECT to place the remote in Scene delete mode.
3. Press the Learn button on the device to be deleted. Unlike Scene Include mode, the remote will
exit Scene Delete mode as soon as the device has been deleted.
Resetting to Factory
1. Press the include/delete button. The green LED lights solid and the channel LED(s) turn off.
2. Simultaneously press and hold BOTH SELECT buttons for 5 seconds or until ALL LEDs on the
remote light solid. Note that if a group LED turned on, or if the red LED at the top right of the
remote turned on, the buttons weren't pressed "simultaneously" enough and you are in either
include or delete mode. Wait for the mode to time out and try these steps again.
3. Release the select buttons within 5 seconds of the LEDs lighting solid.
Error Indication
Both the green LED and the red LED on the top of the remote will simultaneously blink 3 times.
NOTE
The Forest IMS Motor is a Z-Wave enabled device and is fully compatible with any Z-Wave enabled
network. Z-Wave enabled devices displaying the Z-Wave logo can also be used with Forest IMS
regardless of the manufacturer. Forest IMS can also be used in other manufacturer’s Z-Wave enabled
networks and all listening devices act as repeaters, regardless of vendor.
