SNMP Setup ASCO 5140 Quad-Ethernet Module SNMP Master Configuration Using iReasoning MIB Browser These are details for configuring the SNMP Master in the ASCO 5140 QuadEthernet Module (QEM) by using the iReasoning Master. The iReasoning MIB browser software is a free SNMP Master available from: www.cnet.com or www.ireasoning.com Refer to the 5140 QEM Installation Manual 381333-417. GETting Data Procedure 1. Download and install iReasoning MIB browser software. 2. Open the iReasoning MIB browser software. See Figure 1. 3. Open communication settings. Figure 1. iReasoning MIB browser software. 4. Enter the IP Address of the 5140 QEM in the Address textbox (see the 5140 QEM About page). 5. Click the Go button. The software will connect to the 5140 QEM. 6. Bring the 5140 QEM MIB file into the iReasoning session by uploading it. This is done by right clicking on the MIB Tree icon in the SNMP MIBs window or by clicking on the file dropdown box. Select the 5140 QEM MIB file to be uploaded. The MIB file is available from ASCO Power Technologies. It must be copied to the computer that is running the iReasoning software. The 5140 QEM MIB file is: SNMP2ASCO72EEVER.mib 7. After successfully uploading the file, the screen shown in Figure 2 appears. Figure 2. MIB file uploaded successfully. Click the MIB Tree icon (Figure 2) to present the ASCO Power Technologies devices. Click a device to list the accessible objects or registers that are available for reading. Figure 3 shows the Group G ATS Name. Right click the object and select Get to read the value of the register from the 5140 QEM. 9. Select Get Next (repeatedly) to read the next available registers from a device, as shown in Figure 4. Figure 3. Use GET to read the value of the register. TRAPping Data Procedure The 5140 QEM traps data by recognizing when Alarm states or Status Registers have changed. The list of Alarms that the 5140 QEM monitors is shown on the Configuration Webpage in the ALARMS Configuration page. 1. On the Configuration webpage of the 5140 QEM enter the IP address of the computer that is running the iReasoning software. Both devices should be on the same subnet or the Gateway Address in the Ethernet Module window on the 5140 QEM’s Configuration Webpage will need to be entered accordingly. 2. In iReasoning MIB browser software select the Trap Receiver Tab to be able to review traps sent from the 5140 QEM to the iReasoning computer. Figure 4. List of available registers from a device.
