USER GUIDE Supertooth II Independent Hands free Kit with DSP for Bluetooth Cell phones OVERVIEW The SuperTooth is equipped with Bluetooth and Digital Signal Processor that allow wireless communications on devices such as cellular phones. This is designed to be a totally portable wireless handsfree kit which will enable the user to communicate freely without holding the phone. This will work on any Bluetooth cellular phones available provided that they respect the Bluetooth protocol. The Swivel Arm[ 7] which can be adjusted 0º, 55º and 210 º orientations is designed to easily access the microphone in case you change the position of the Sun Visor. A. TURNING ON/OFF THE SUPERTOOTH 1. 2. B. To turn the SuperTooth ON, just flip up the swivel arm [7] at 55º position. The Bluetooth indicator will glow (blue blink). This indicates that the kit is ready (standby mode). Note: At first time use, the user has to pair the SuperTooth with his phone (see Section C). To turn the SuperTooth OFF, just flip down the swivel arm @ 0º position. The Bluetooth Indicator will become red then will turn off after a second. CHARGING OPERATIONS The SuperTooth can be charged in a car using the SuperTooth Saver Charger or at home using SuperTooth Travel charger. 1. Connect the charger’s plug into the Charger Input [4] of the SuperTooth. Charge Indicator Status: Steady Red: low batt Steady Green: fully charged Alternate Red/Green: indicates charging 2. C. When fully charged, disconnect the charger. PAIRING TO THE CELLULAR PHONE( not possible while charging the SuperTooth) Pairing will create a link or connection between the two Bluetooth devices, the SuperTooth and your phone. 1. Bring the cellular phone at about 20cm from the SuperTooth. 2. Ensure that the SuperTooth is OFF. 3. Turn it ON by flipping up the Swivel Arm[7 ] to 55º position. The Bluetooth Indicator [1] will glow (blue blink). 4. Simultaneously press the Reject Button[6] and Pick-Up/Hang-Up Button[9] for approximately 10seconds until you hear a distinctive tone and the Bluetooth indicator LED changes from blinking blue to alternate blinking red and blue. The SuperTooth is now in Handsfree pairing mode. 5. Shortly press Pick-Up/Hang-Up Button[9] for a short-time to access Headset Pairing Mode. 6. Make a device discovery procedure on your phone. 7. Enter “0000” as the passcode. If pairing is successful, the alternating red/blue lights will stop and will change to plain blinking blue. Cell phone keypad tones can be heard on the SuperTooth when they are pressed. Note: If pairing failed, repeat this procedure. The SuperTooth is paired and ready to use. D. ANSWERING/RECEIVING A CALL When the phone is receiving a call, a ring tone will be heard on the SuperTooth only. 1. Just shortly press Pick-Up/Hang-Up Button[9 ] to answer the call. 2. To terminate the call, press the Pick-Up/Hang-Up Button[9]. E. MAKING A CALL Normal dialing 1. Enter the contact number and send. Audio can be heard on the SuperTooth. 2. Press Pick-Up/Hang-Up Button[9] to terminate the call. Voice dialing 1. Shortly press Pick-Up/Hang-Up Button[9] to activate voice dialing. 2. A beep will then be heard on the SuperTooth prompting the user to say the name of the person to call. 3. 4. Say the name. The name will be played back to you. The phone will then place the call automatically. In case the cell phone does not recognize the name spoken, the steps above may be repeated. Press Pick-Up/Hang-Up Button[9] to terminate the call. Redialing (Handsfree profile only) Make a long press on the Pick-Up/Hang-Up Button[9]. Audio will be heard on the SuperTooth. F. AUDIO TRANSFER Audio transfer can be done by flipping up or down the Swivel Arm[7]. G. SETTING THE VOLUME Set the volume using the Volume Control[10]. 1. Turn it clockwise to increase the volume. 2. Turn it counterclockwise to decrease. Note: If the volume set is too high, it can cause feedback (whistling sound), echo, or background noise during calls on some cell phones. H. REJECTING A CALL (Handsfree Profile only) Press Reject Button[6] to reject an incoming call. FCC Notices This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules.
