•DO NOT use near water.
•DO NOT place furniture on cord.
•NEVER place the baby’s unit or its adapter in the crib or playpen, or
within the child’s reach.
•DO NOT hang this monitor near or on a crib. The cord can present a
strangulation hazard.
•Always keep the unit out of children’s reach.
•DO NOT use this monitor if it is broken or missing parts.
•This product is designed and intended to be used solely to monitor the
actions of a sleeping child.
•DO NOT use this monitor with products that warn the user: “NEVER
LEAVE CHILD UNATTENDED”.
•This product does not replace responsible adult supervision of a child.
•You should check your child regularly as this product will not detect
your child’s quiet activities.
•This product is not intended to be used as a medical monitor, and its
use should not replace adult supervision.
•Make sure the Parent’s and Baby’s units are functioning properly, on the
same channel, and within reception range of each other.
•It is essential to check the sound reception regularly.
•Your adapters are equipped with polarized alternating current line plugs
(a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into
the outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to
insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug
should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your
obsolete outlet. Most building codes currently require
polarized electrical outlets. Do not defeat the safety purpose
of the polarized plug.
1. Read and observe all warnings on the product and in this
Owner’s Manual. Pay special attention to information marked
“WARNING” and “IMPORTANT”. This information can affect your
child’s safety. Keep this Owner’s Manual nearby for quick and easy
reference.
2. Avoid placement near water or moisture. Do not use baby’s
unit outdoors. Do not use your monitor near a bathtub, shower, sink,
laundry tub, swimming pool, wet basement, or other locations where
water or moisture may result in electrocution.
3. Allow for proper ventilation of the adapters and the
monitors. Do not place your monitor on or under a rug, bed, sofa,
blanket or similar object that blocks its ventilation. Do not place it in a
built-in installation such as a bookcase or stereo cabinet. These may
impede the air flow through the ventilation openings.
4. Remove the batteries from the monitor components and
unplug the AC adapters if the monitor will not be used for a
long period of time.
5. Avoid placement near heat sources. Do not use your monitor
near a radiator, stove, heat register, or other appliance (including
amplifiers and TVs) that produce heat. Heat can damage the case or
components.
6. This monitor can be operated by batteries (Parent’s Unit uses three
AAA batteries and Baby’s Unit uses one 9 Volt battery) or by the
Evenflo AC adapters provided. The Evenflo AC adapters provided
must be plugged into standard household outlets (120V AC outlet).
Do not use extension cords.
7. Protect the AC adapter cords. Route cords so they are not walked
on or pinched by items placed upon them.
8. Do not immerse any component in water. Clean the monitor
with a dry cloth.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The Evenflo Constant Care 1500 Secure Sound Monitor should
not be used as a replacement for adult supervision of children.
Please note that any modification of the transmitter or
receiver will violate FCC compliance and can void the user’s
authority to operate this monitor set.
9. Do not use near fluorescent lights, appliances with motors,
televisions, fans or other machinery. These items may interfere
with the quality of your unit’s transmission or reception.
10. Adapter must be removed from either the transmitter or
receiver for battery operation. In case of power outage, the
batteries will not act as a backup if the AC adapters are engaged.
11. Do not use the monitor if:
• Either adapter cord has been damaged.
• Objects have fallen or liquid has been spilled into any of its
components.
• It has been exposed to rain or water.
• It has been dropped or something inside is damaged.
• If any parts are missing or broken. Call Evenflo’s Parent Link at
1-800-233-5921 for instructional literature or product
information if needed.
12. Refer to the Troubleshooting Chart in this Owner’s Manual
before returning your monitor for servicing. You may be able to
solve the problem on your own in very little time.
13. If service is required due to a possible defect, and the monitor
is still under warranty, see Limited Warranty for instructions.
This product should be serviced only by qualified service personnel at
Evenflo Company, Inc. when:
• An AC adapter or its plug has been damaged.
• Objects have fallen or liquid has been spilled into the Transmitter
