MISCELLANEOUS FUNCTION
REMAINING BATTERY CAPACITY
Before you operate the transceiver outside using a battery pack. it is important
to know how long the battery pack will last.
The battery remaining indicator shows the remaining capacity.

in Medium battery power

l Recharge or replace the batteries.
WIRED CLONE
The steps to active wired clone:
1. Turn on the power of the vice radio, and then connect the two radios with cloning
cable,
2. Press [MONI] key ofthe master radio to turn on the power. while
"CLONE?" appears on the master radio, then release (MONI) key.
3. Press (FUNCI key and then begin cloning. During cloning process, master
radio shows "CLONE"and the red light blinks, while vice radio doesn’t refresh
showing, and green light blinks. Untill the red light of the master radio changes
from blinking to bright all the time, "SUCCESS" will appear on the master radio,
which means cloning successfully.
4. During the data transmission. it "ERROR" appearing on the master radio means
failing to clone, then please check whether the cloning cable connects well or
not. then press IFUNC) key of master radio.
Single I Double stand-by Switching
Press and hold (NB) for 2 seconds. the transceiver will switch to single stand-
by or double stand-by mode.
(* SCAN] Function
A short press means turning on or off reverse frequency, while pressing for 2
seconds means activating Scan feature.
[# LOCK] function
A short press means turning on or pause Stopwatch. while long press means
turning on or oft keypad lock.
1750Hz calling
Press PTT button and MONI key together to make a call, the transceiver will sound
1750Hz testing audio, while releasing the buttons will stop calling.
503 alerting
In an emergency situation, the transceiver can send out ‘hoct.." sound for help
via designated channel or frequency on Band A or B, and meanwhile. the radio

itself makes “hoot..." sound and backlight flashes. The emergency call lasts for
10 seconds every time and the interval is 5 minutes During SOS transmitting,
you can press any key to exit, however, if there is a carrier signal appears, the
transceiverwill get into rewiving, and SOS-CH will continue after signal disappeared.
FM Radio
Turn on FM radio
Under stand-by mode, press (PF1] key to turn on FM radio. (Setting PF1 to
Radio)
Adjust FM radio channels
While FM radio is on, press (* SCAN] key, the FM radio will adjust channels
automaticlly and flash green till a FM radio channel is searched; you can also
have a adjustment on the searched channels by rotating ENC.
Store FM radio channels
When there is a FM radio channel being searched, press (MENU) key, the LCD
displays ‘save’1', then press any numeric key (1-9) to store the searched channel
for future use.
in the transceiver, there are two groups FM radio channels for storage The
transceiver is default to be in the TEAM 1 during storing, you can press (#
LOCK] key to switch over TEAM 1 and TEAM 2.
Callout use of stored FM radio channels
Press numeric key to callout and listen to your stored channel when the FM radio
is turned on.
Optional slgnallng
There are three optional signalings in iP-VU1A; MSK, 2-Tone, 5-Tune; every
optional signal has 8 groups of decoding sets, and MSK and 2 Tone have 10
groups of encoding sets, while there is no limit for 5 Tone encoding groups. Except
5-Tone, the encoding and decoding of these optional signalings can only programmed
by software.
MSK/2 Tone encode manually (PF1 key should be defined as CALL)
While press (PF1] key, the LCD displays “MSK/2T?“, you can press numeric
key 0-9 to callout corresponding calling list to call; if the corresponding calling
list Is not edited, It wlll sound a “D00" Deep.
When 2 Tone is encoding, tone A sends for 1 second and tone B sends for 3
seconds; but ifthere is only tone A setted on the calling list, then tone A will send
for 5 seconds (in trial use, the transceiver is used as group calling).
5 Tone encode manually (PF1 key should be defined CALL)
While press (PF1) key, the LCD displays ‘CALLl----", then input the transceivers
decoding groups contents that you want to call, then press P'I'I' button to start
