Failure to observe recommendations included in this manual may be dangerous or cause a violation of the law. The alarm functionality of devices is an additional feature increasing the comfort level of your home automation system. If you want to use professional security service, please contact them to determine what systems can provide a protection of your estate. Compliance with safety standards: The device is designed to be used with Apple HomeKit and is compliant with IEC/UL/CSA 60950-1. In case of the integration with another system, e.g. alarm system, it is required to verify the compliance with additional standards. HomeKit technology Apple HomeKit technology provides an easy, secure way to control HomeKit-enabled accessories using Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. After installing your FIBARO Button, configure it from a compatible app with just a few simple steps to control your home. You can even create your own custom scenes to control your home settings. For example, you can create a scene to automatically turn off the lights, lock your doors, close the garage door, and set the thermostat to the desired temperature in just one step. Controlling this HomeKit-enabled accessory requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 9.3 or later. Controlling this HomeKit-enabled accessory away from home requires a third-generation Apple TV with Apple TV software 7.2.1 or later or a fourth generation Apple TV with tvOS 9.2 or later and an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 9.3 or later 3 #1: Description and features FIBARO Button is a HomeKit-enabled, compact, battery-powered wireless controller using Bluetooth® low energy technology. It allows you to control HomeKit accessories using Automations. Various actions may be triggered with one clicks, two clicks or by holding the button down. With its small design and wireless communication, the FIBARO Button can be conveniently mounted on any surface and in any position or location at home, e.g. beside the bed or under the desk. NOTE Automations require using Apple TV (4th generation) or iPad (iOS 10 or later) set as Home Hub. Main features of FIBARO Button: • compatible with Apple HomeKit technology, • Bluetooth® low energy technology for wireless communication, • detects 3 different actions: 1 click, 2 clicks, hold and release, • battery powered, • easy installation, • may be installed on any surface, • indicates state using buzzer, • many colour variations: black, white, red, green, blue, yellow, orange and brown. Description and features 4 #2: Basic activation 1. Press and turn the button counter-clockwise to open the casing. 2. Remove the battery blocker and check if the battery is placed correctly. 3. Press and turn the button clockwise to close the casing. 4. Pair the accessory (as described in "#3: Pairing the accessory"). 5. Install the accessory in desired location using the attached self-adhesive pad. Basic activation 5 #3: Pairing the accessory 1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device. 2. Go to the Bluetooth® section, and turn the Bluetooth® on. 3. Place the accessory next to your iOS device. 4. Open a HomeKit compatible app of your choosing on your iOS device. 5. Open pairing window in your HomeKit app to detect available accessories. 6. Choose The Button you wish to pair. 7. You can identify it - The Button will triple beep 3 times. 8. Find HomeKit Setup Code on the last page of Quick Start Guide included in the box that looks like this: XXX-XX-XXX 9. Start pairing with your HomeKit app. 10. Point your iOS device’s camera at the Setup Code to scan it or enter the Setup Code manually. 11. If entered Setup Code is valid, the device will complete the setup process. NOTE Remember to keep your HomeKit Setup Code in safe place. You may need it in case of re-pairing. Backup Setup Code is printed on the label of the accessory, but requires entering it manually. 12. Follow instructions displayed in the application. Pairing the accessory 6 #4: Functionality NOTE Automations require using Apple TV (4th generation) or iPad (iOS 10 or later) set as Home Hub. Detecting Button pushes: The Button detect if it was clicked one time, two times, held or released, then reports it to your iOS device. Automations can be created based on the detected action. Battery level measuring: The Button measures battery level every 24 hours and reports it to your iOS device. Additionally, if battery level is below 15%, the accessory will report low level battery status to your iOS device. Buzzer: The Button is equipped with a built-in buzzer that signals status of the accessory, like identification (3 triple beeps) or reset confirmation (long beep). If enabled, the accessory can also respond to actions with sound signals. The accessory will confirm number of performed clicks with the same amount of beeps (e.g. two clicks - two beeps). Holding will be signaled with intermittent tone. Functionality 7 #5: Reset Resetting the Button to factory defaults: Reset procedure allows to restore the accessory back to its factory settings including HomeKit pairing. 1. Click the Button exactly five times. 2. Press and hold the Button for at least 5 seconds. 3. Long beep will confirm resetting. Reset 8 #6: Specifications CAUTION Using batteries other than specified may result in explosion. Dispose of properly, observing environmental protection rules.
