• Locate the battery compartment on the back of each walkie-talkie.
• Loosen the screw in the battery compartment door with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the battery compartment door.
• Insert one 9V (6LR61) alkaline battery into each walkie-talkie.
• Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the screw with a Phillips
screwdriver. Do not over-tighten.
Hints:
- We recommend using alkaline batteries for longer life.
- When sound becomes faint or walkie-talkie does not work, it’s time for an
adult to replace the batteries!
BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION
Batteries may leak fluids that can cause a chemical burn injury or ruin your
toy. To avoid battery leakage:
• Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types: alkaline,
standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).
• Insert batteries as indicated inside the battery compartment.
• Remove batteries during long periods of non-use. Always remove
exhausted batteries from the toy. Dispose of batteries safely. Do not
dispose of batteries in a fire. The batteries may explode or leak.
• Never short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type, as recommended.
• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging.
• If removable, rechargeable batteries are used, they are only to be charged
under adult supervision.

• Slide the power switch on top of each walkie-talkie to the position to turn it
on or to the position to turn it off.
• Turn the mission dial to choose one of six different missions.
• Press and hold the top (mission) talk button to transmit a message from
Billy Blazes™ or Rocky Canyon™ about the chosen mission to the other
walkie-talkie.
• Press and hold the bottom (normal) talk button to use like a regular walkietalkie and transmit your own messages. Speak directly into the microphone
below the mission dial.
