BlueTone™ BTHF260 user manual 1. Introduction 1.1 Bluetooth Technology Bluetooth is an internationally standardized technology supporting short distance wireless communications. Any two Bluetooth-compatible equipments, such as mobile phone, PDA、PC, headset, mouse, keyboards, printer, etc. can wirelessly communicate with each other via Bluetooth connection. To ensure worldwide compatibility, Bluetooth operates on the globally available ISM (Industrial Scientific and Medical) frequency band. Within 2.4 GHz and 2.48 GHz, Bluetooth transmits data up to either 10 meters (CLASS II mode) or 100 meters (CLASS I mode) using 79 frequency hopping channels. Though line-of-sight is not required, Bluetooth connections could be subject to interferences from obstructions such as walls, human bodies, and other electronic devices. In addition, due to variations on product implementation, it is likely that Bluetooth equipments from different manufactures have interoperability issues. In that case, you may consult with manufactures to check product compatibility. Note that, there could be some restrictions imposing on using Bluetooth devices in some countries. BlueTone™ BTHF260 user manual 2. Using Your Handsfree 2.1 Battery Charging and Usage 2.1.1 Battery Charging This device contains a rechargeable Li-Polymer battery. First-time charging time is about 4 hours. Later-on recharging time is around 2-3 hours. Detailed charging procedures as follows: 1. Connect the car charger to the cigarette lighter. 2. Plug the connector of the charger to handsfree’s charging port to start charging. In screen the icon “ ” will blink during charging. Once the icon turns to “ ”, it indicates the battery is fully charged and you should disconnect the charger from the handsfree and the power outlet. You can also use the removable USB charging cable for charging the Handsfree speaker from your PC. 2.1.2 Battery Information 1. Once fully charged, the battery for handsfree supports continuous talk time up to 6 hours and standby time about 550 hours. 2. When the battery is low, the device beeps once every 20 seconds and there is “Low Power” display in the screen, charge the battery as described above. Note that, over-charging will reduce battery life. If a fully charged battery is left unused, it will lose power over time. Extreme temperature (either too hot or too cold) will also affect its ability to charge, capacity, and lifetime. 2.2 Mounting the Handsfree It is easily to use Sun-visor Clip to fix the Handsfree device on the sun-visor over driver’s seat, or insert the vent mount clip in the vent in the car. It can be more flexible to use the Handsfree in the car or carry out to the office and home. There are two magnets on the backside of the device, and you can attract the Sun-visor Clip or the Vent Mount to them. In order to fix the Handsfree device on the sun-visor better, please clip the sun-visor to the sun visor in your vehicle first, then attract the Sun-visor Clip to the backside of the device. This indicates the handsfree is power on. Switching off: Press and hold the button for 3 seconds until the screen is off, and you will hear 2 power-down tones. This indicates the handsfree is power off. 2.4 Menu Operation 2.4.1 Enter the menu When the device is standby, press the button to enter the menu, and the menu list will display in the screen. BlueTone™ BTHF260 user manual 󳴐 English Press the ╋ button or the ━ button can make page up and page down and to choose one menu item. 2.4.2 Executing the menu item or Entering the submenu In menu, choose one menu item and press the button to select the menu item or enter the submenu. 2.4.3 Exiting the menu In submenu, press the button can back to the main menu. If it is already the main menu, press the button can back to standby status. 2.5 Pairing and Connection 2.5.1 Pairing the Handsfree with bluetooth handset Before making and answering calls, you must pair your handsfree and phone. Paring sets up a unique relationship between your handsfree and your handset. The handset will memorize the handsfree’s unique ID (or passkey). This ensures that a unique and encrypted wireless link between your handsfree and handset will be used during calls. Detailed operation procedures are as follows: 1. Place your handsfree close to your Bluetooth handset, and ensure your handsfree and your handset is power on. 2. Press the button to enter the menu. Choose “Enter Pairing Mode” and press the button, you will hear 2 power-up tones and the icon will display in the screen. This indicates the handsfree has successfully entered the paring mode. 3. Following your phone user guide to active Bluetooth device search on the phone side, on your phone screen you will see a list of Bluetooth equipment found by the phone at the end of the searching process. 4. Select this Bluetooth Handsfree ‘BTHF260’ from the list and initiate pairing following handset’s on-screen prompts. Then enter passkey “0000”and confirm to pair the handsfree with your handset. Once the pairing procedure is completed, you will hear a connecting tone. It indicates that the handsfree device and the handset are paired. Note：The handsfree will remain in the pairing mode for about 2 minutes. If paring cannot be finished within 2 minutes, the handsfree will enter into the standby mode and the icon will disappear. You need to repeat the above steps 2-5 to restart the pairing process. 2.5.2 Delete Paired Information This handsfree can paired with up to 8 Bluetooth equipments. Press the button to enter the menu, choose ‘Delete Paired Info’ then press the button; all paired information has been deleted. 2.5.3 Quit pairing with Bluetooth Equipment When the handsfree in the pairing mode, press the ╋ button or the ━ button, it will quit from pairing mode and the icon will disappear. . 11
BlueTone™ BTHF260 user manual 2.5.4 Connecting/Disconnecting your Handsfree with Bluetooth Equipment When the handsfree communicates with a Bluetooth equipment with Handsfree Profile, the Bluetooth connection between two equipments shall be established in advance. If two Bluetooth equipments have been paired recently, you can simply reconnect them. Connecting your Handsfree with Bluetooth Handset： If the handsfree and the handset have been paired, in order to connect two devices, you can either press the button on the Handsfree to initiate a connection request or follow the handset user guide to find the handsfree and send a connection request. During the connecting, the connecting icon will be displayed on the screen. After connecting, you will hear a connecting tone, and the icon will be displayed on the screen that replaces the connecting icon . Disconnecting your Handsfree with Bluetooth Handset: When a Handsfree connected with a Bluetooth handset, you can press and hold the button for 3 seconds to drop the connection. Or you can refer to the handset’s manual to disconnect from the handset side. After disconnecting, you will hear a disconnecting tone, and the icon will disappear. 2.6 Call Functions 2.6.1 Call Answer Call: Press the button. Reject Call: Press and hold the ━ button for 3 seconds. End Call: Press the button. Redial: Press and hold the ╋ button for 3 seconds. Note：For the product with Two-link version, it must setup the primary device first before redial the call. And the redialed operation is only for the primary device. (Please refer section 5.2 for details) 2.6.2 Adjusting Volume In the talking mode, you can adjust the volume by press the ╋ and ━ button respectively. Meanwhile, the volume setting will be displayed on the screen for about 2 seconds. 2.6.3 Muting an active call You can mute or unmute the Handsfree during an ongoing call by press the button, and then the icon will be displayed on the screen. 2.6.4 Transferring the Call between Handset and handsfree Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to transfer an active call from the handsfree to handset. Press the button to transfer an active call from the handset to handsfree. 2.6.5 Voice Dialing (when supported by the phone) Press and hold the ━ button for 3 seconds to activate the voice dialing feature of your handset, then follow your handset user guide to complete voice dialing. . 12

Please refer to your handset’s user guide for additional details, especially as some phone models do not support voice dialing. Note：For the product with Two-link version, it must setup the primary device first before making the voice dialing. And the voice dialing operation is only for the primary device. (Please refer section 5.2 for details) 2.6.6 Advanced Call Functions If your mobile phone has call waiting/conference functions, this Bluetooth Handsfree supports advanced call features with following operations: 1. A new call comes in, While you are in talk: 1) Press and hold the ╋ button for 3 seconds, to hold active call and accept incoming call. 2) Press the button, to end active call and answer new call. 3) Press the button, to reject the new call 2. When two calls in progress, one is active and the other is on hold: 1) Press and hold the ╋ button for 3 seconds, to toggle hold call and active call. 2) Press the button, to end active call and accept hold call. 3) Press and hold the ━ button for 3 seconds, to make conference. 2.7 AV Mode Functions This product supports AV Mode Functions. Connecting with a Bluetooth-enabled multimedia/music player, the product allows users to enjoy stereo music. 2.7.1 Using the AV music player mode in the handset If your Bluetooth handset with mp3 functionality (the handset must supports AV profile), after paired and connected (please refer section 2.5 for details), the handset can be connected to the Handsfree devices with AV service. Sometimes the connection can happen automatically. If the connection is successful, it will display the icon on the screen. Now, simply start the Media Player in your handset to enjoy stereo music. If the handset can not connect AV service automatically, then you must follow your handset’s user guide to complete the AV connection when using Media Player. 2.7.2 AV Mode Operations Detailed operation procedures are as follows: Play：Press the button. Backward：Press and hold the ╋ button for 3 seconds. 2.8 Pairing/Connecting with Other Bluetooth Equipment 2.8.1 Pairing the Handsfree with Other Bluetooth Equipment In addition to Bluetooth phone, your Handsfree can also pair with other Bluetooth equipment for realizing short distance wireless communications. Similar pairing procedures described in the previous Section can be used. You can follow the user guide of the Bluetooth equipment to complete paring operations on the equipment side. This Handsfree can be paired with up to 8 Bluetooth equipments (including mobile handsets). The corresponding 8 sets of pairing information are recorded by the Handsfree. Each paired equipment can wireless communicated with the Handsfree after setting up a Bluetooth connection. Please check Section 2.5.3 on procedures to set up a Bluetooth connection. 2.8.2 Connecting your Handsfree with USB Dongle Before pairing and connecting, you must ensure the USB Dongle has already connected with PC, and IVT BlueSoleil driver has been installed in PC. Detailed operation procedures are as follows: 1. Press the button to enter the menu. Choose “Enter Pairing Mode” and press the button, you will hear 2 power-up tones and the icon will display in the screen. This indicates the handsfree has successfully entered the paring mode. 2. Start “IVT BlueSoleil”. Click “My Bluetooth—>Bluetooth Device Discovery” on main menu, to search the Bluetooth device in range. 3. In the result of search, right click “BTHF260”, and choose “Pair Device”. 4. Enter passkey ’0000’ and confirm to pair the Handsfree with your computer. 5. After paired, a red “√” will be placed before “BTHF260”. IVT and Handsfree will connect “Bluetooth AV Service” automatically. 6. After connected, Start “Windows Media Player” and configure the speaker interface to be “Bluetooth AV/HS Audio”. 7. Restart “Windows Media Player” and you can listen to the music with Handsfree. At the same time, you can press the button of Handsfree to control “play”,” pause”, choose music and Volume control. (Please refer section 2.7.2 for details ) 8. If you want to use microphone which is in Handsfree, you must disconnect “Bluetooth AV Service”, and connect “Bluetooth Headset Service”. Right click “BTHF260”, and choose “Disconnect—>Bluetooth AV Service”. 9. After disconnected, right click “BTHF260”, and choose “Connect—>Bluetooth Headset Service”. 10. When connecting, you will hear indicating tones on the Handsfree, then press the button to make the connection. 11. After connected, in “Control Panel”，Start “Volume and Audio Device” and configure the record default device to be “Bluetooth AV/HS Audio”. Then you can use Handsfree’s microphone now. . 14
BlueTone™ BTHF260 user manual Notice: When connecting with “Bluetooth AV Service”, you can use Handsfree’s buttons to control the remote device, such as “play”,” pause”, select music, and control Volume up and down; but the microphone can not be used. When connecting with “Bluetooth Headset Service”, you can listen to the music and use microphone together, but Handsfree’s buttons can not be used to control the remote device.. 2.8.3 Connecting with two Bluetooth Equipments together This product can connect with AV player and Bluetooth handset together; you can receive and make phone calls while listening to music Detailed operation procedures are as follows: 1. Pairing and connecting Handsfree with the handset (please refer section 2.5 for details), and the pairing information of the handset are recorded by the Handsfree. 2. Disconnect Handsfree and handset. 3. Pairing and connecting Handsfree with AV player (please refer section 2.8.1, 2.8.2 for details), start to use AV mode functions. 4. Refer to handset’s manual to initiate the connection from the handset side (please refer section 2.5.3 for details). While listening to music, the product will notify the user an incoming call. The on-playing music can be paused if the call is accepted and resumed after call termination. If you want to make a phone call, you can dial a number immediately, and it will switch to call function automatically. . 15
BlueTone™ BTHF260 user manual 3. Phone book Operations 3.1 Download the phone book 3.1.1 Download the phone book from the handset Press the button to enter the menu, and then choose ‘Sync Phonebook’. After press the button, the Handsfree will try to download the phone book from the handset. If the handset supports downloading, it will delete the phone book which has downloaded formerly first, and then begin to download the new phone book. At the same time, the icon will display in the screen till the end of downloading. If the handset does not support downloading, it will display ‘Sync Failed！Unsupported Phone’ in the screen. During downloading, it will end the downloading when the space is full, and display ‘Phonebook Full!’ in the screen simultaneity. (Correlative operation please refers section 2.4 for details.) The phone with multi-connections support, such as W800, K750, D608, can sync phone numbers on the connecting mode. Otherwise the phone must be disconnected first and then sync phone numbers over OPPS. 3.2 Delete the phone book Enter the menu, and choose ‘Delete Phonebook’. Then press the button to delete the phone book. (Correlative operation please refers section 2.4 for details.) Note：For the product with Two-link version, it must setup the primary device first before deleting the phone book. And the operation of deleting the phone book is only for the primary device. (Please refer section 5.2 for details) 3.3 Phone book In standby mode, press the button to enter the phone book. If there is nothing in the phone book, it will display ‘Phonebook is Empty!’ in the screen. Otherwise, it will display the first information of the phone book. Press the ╋ or ━ button to make the page up or down. After choosing an entry, press the button to dial the number. Note: 1. For the product without Two-link version, if the handsfree has not connected with the handset, you can examine the phone book which had already been downloaded for the last time. If the handsfree has connected with the handset, you can examine the phone book for the handset which has connected currently. 2. For the product with Two-link version, it must setup the primary device first before examining the phone book. It is only for the primary device to examine the phone book, and initiate the call. Choose ‘Backlight Time’, and press the button, it will enter the submenu, contents as follows: 󳴐 10 Sec 󳴐 20 Sec 󳴐 60 Sec 󳴐 Always On You can press the ╋ or ━ button to choose the right backlight what you need, then press the button. (For corresponding operations, please refer section 2.4 for details.) 4.2 Brightness Press the button to enter the menu. Choose ‘Brightness’ then press the button to enter the submenu. Vote, you can adjust the right brightness according to the appropriate environment. 4.3 Device Firmware Upgrade This device has the feature of software upgrade. It allows users to upgrade BTHF260 software via USB port. Detailed operation procedures are as follows: 1. Please download the tool which is ‘CSR DFU Wizad’ of PC terminal from our website, and then install it in your PC. 2. Please download the driver of USB and the latest software of BTHF260 from our website. 3. Using the USB cable to connect the handsfree with PC. 4. Operate the menu of BTHF260 to enter the submenu of ‘SW_Version’, then press the ‘╋’‘╋’‘━’ ‘━’‘ ’button in turn to enter the DFU mode, the ‘DFU…’ will be displayed on the screen. (If enter the DFU mode by misoperation, you can double press the button to exit the DFU mode. ) 5. Install the driver of USB in PC after entering the DFU mode. 6. After finish the operation, you can update the software of BTHF260 via ‘CSR DFU Wizad’ which has been installed in PC. Note that, in the process of updating software, the update can not be interrupted, otherwise, it could cause equipment failure at work. . 18

Two-Link Operation (Optional) The Bluetooth Handsfree advanced features support two-link operation that allows two mobile phones to be connected to the Handsfree at a same time. By defining a primary device, the user can easily pair and connect two mobile phones to the Handsfree. Then the operation of the Handsfree is similar to the normal operation with a single mobile phone. 5.1 Connection Initiate a connection from the Handsfree: Press the button to connect most current connected devices Initiate a connection from a handset: Please follow the menu on the handset. Don’t initiate connections from two handset at the same time. 5.2 Setup Primary Device When a handset and the Handsfree device connected with handsfree profile, “Primary Device” option will be displayed on the Handsfree device’s menu. By selecting the menu item and press the button, device names that currently connected to the Handsfree will be listed. Using the ╋ or ━ button to select a device name, press the button to set that device to be a primary device. Press the button does not select the primary device but returns to previous menu. Please refer to the menu operation section for details. Once a primary device is selected, the phonebook in the primary device can be downloaded and viewed as defined in Chapter 3. Meanwhile, all primary functions initiated from the Handsfree, such as Make a Call, Redial, Voice Dialing, Dial from the phonebook, etc., are performed on the primary device. If the primary device does not connect to the Handsfree, but the secondary handset connects to the Handsfree, these primary functions will not work on the secondary handset. In order to make these primary functions work on the secondary phone, you have followed the above procedure to set the secondary handset to be a primary device. Please refer to related sections for operating of these primary functions. 5.3 Conversation When two handsets (two-link) are connected to the Handsfree: 1. If one handset is in conversation, all operations will be the same as a single handset connected. 2. If both handsets are in conversation, the handset that gets into the conversation the last will not be controlled by the Handsfree. Then the voice for this last conversation handset will stay on the handset instead of the Handsfree. The operations on the Handsfree will affect only the handset that establishes the conversation first. Once the first conversation handset is terminated, the Handsfree could gain the control of the remaining handset that is in conversation. Such as you can press the button to transfer an active call from the handset to Handsfree, and etc. . 20

(Please refer section 1.4 and 1.5 for details of key and key press duration definitions.) Note: your handsfree devices can only talk to paired Bluetooth handsets. For handsets supporting HFP only, you also need to establish Bluetooth connection between your handsfree and your phone before making and answering calls. Can't power up the device after charging more than 20 minutes： For the first time, the device should be charged at least 40 minute prior tuning on, It is recommended that the battery should be fully charged before using the device. 3. Can't hear anything on handsfree： you should check the followings  Handsfree is power on  Handsfree has paired with a handset  Handsfree should connected with a handset (except the handset only supports Handsfree Profile）  Handsfree and handset are within 10m  Handsfree and handset should have good single strength 4. Handsfree can not be found when a handset tries to pair with it： Your handsfree may not be in the pairing mode, please refer section 2.4.1 for details. 5. Do the paired handsfree or the paired handset need to be repaired power off： No. Please note that for the handset supports handsfree profile, the handsfree and the handset must be connected first. Refer section 2.5.3 for details. 6. Voice dialing does not work： First check the handset supports voice dialing function; make sure you have recorded the voice tag. Maintenance BlueTone™ BTHF260 is well-designed communications devices, careful maintenance and proper use will extend the product life and keep their elite performance in delivering voice. Following maintenance procedures may be helpful to you：  Always turn off power and keep your device in a safe place when it is not in use  Keep the device dry, away from water, precipitation, humidity, moisture, and various liquids that may corrode electronic circuits. If your device gets wet, turn it off immediately and wait until the device gets dry completely before using it  Keep the device away from dusty and dirty places. Otherwise, the mechanic and electronic parts could be damaged  Do not store the device in high temperatures (above 85 or 1℃85 ) or in direct sunlight. Extreme high ℉temperature could degrade performance, reduce battery lifetime, and wrap or melt the certain plastics.  Do not store the device in too cold place (under -40℃ or 40℉). Moisture could form inside the device when you take it to a warm place. This could damage the internal electronic circuits.  Avoid dropping, knocking, and shaking the device. The mechanical parts and the internal electronic circuits could be broken.  Avoid using hash chemicals, cleaning solvents, and any other strong detergent to clean the device.
