Wireless Repeater

1、 Product Specification
This device as a complement of wired LAN (local area network)
achieved the wireless access function of the wired LAN network,
plug‐and‐play. Suitable environments: Hotels, School
dormitories, House, Apartments, Buildings
Note: COMFAST mini repeater has two shape, please find
the corresponding description of the product according
to your item appearance.
WPS/Reset button:
WPS/Reset button is at the bottom of This device beside LAN/WAN
port. When power is on, press and hold the WPS/Reset button for
2 seconds, you will enable the WPS function, press and hold the
button for 10 seconds and release, then it is restoring the factory
value function the device will restore to factory settings.
Warning:
1.Please remove the device if it's the thunderstorm weather to
keep from lightning strikes
2.Keep away from heat source and keep ventilation.
3.Please pay attention to waterproof when it is in storing,
transporting and operating environment.
2、 Introduction of 3 Application Modes
2.1 AP Mode(Access Point)
This device as a complement of wired LAN(Local Area
Network),achieved the wireless access function of the wired LAN,
plug‐and‐play. Under this mode, the RJ45 wire port is being used
as LAN port, computer can connect with This device through wired
or wireless way. you have to set your computer' s IP address
manually if you want to log in the setting page.
2.2 Repeater Mode
This device is used for extending the wireless signal's
coverage of existing AP or wireless router. Under this mode, the
RJ45 wire port is being used as LAN port, computer can connect
with this device by wired or wireless signal. You should set your
computer's IP address manually or press the reset button for
restoration(note: after restoration, it is router mode by default,
the computer must through wireless way log in the setting page)
Application environments: Duplex houses, Large‐area places.
2.3 Router Mode
This device has wireless router function, its wired RJ45
port used as WAN port, it can connect with ADSL modem by web
cable, computer will get sharing network by connecting with
This device through wireless way.
Under this mode, the RJ45 wired port as WAN port, only through
wireless way the computer can connect with This device, device's
DHCP server is enabled by default, we suggest making the IP
address and DNS address acquired automatically.
Application environments: House, Apartments
Note: In most cases, the network of holes or school dormitories
adopt dynamic IP addressing, at this time, computer/wifi mobile
phone/pad only need make their IP address and DNS address
acquired automatically. In a few cases, the network is fixed IP
address, need make the computer/wifi mobile phone/pad's IP
address and DNS address same as the address which the network
administrator specified.
3、 Check network IP address(Windows 7 or XP)
Windows 7
1.Click"Start‐Control Panel‐Network and Internet‐Network and
sharing Center‐Change adapter settings‐Wireless Network
Connection", right click the wireless Network Connection, choose
"Properties"
2.Double click "Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)".
3. If your computer's IP address, sub net mask and default gateway
were set manually, please revise them to "Automatically get the IP
address and" Obtain DNS server address automatically then click
"OK", previous interface also click "OK"
Windows XP
1.Right click the "My Network Places" on the desktop and choose
"Properties"
2.Right click the "Wireless Network Connection" and choose
"Properties"
3.Double click "Internet protocol(TCP/IP)"
4.If your computer's IP address sub net mask and default gateway
were set manually, please revise them to "Automatically get the IP
address "and" Obtain DNS server address automatically", then
click "OK", previous interface also click "OK"
4、 Wireless Network Connection(Win 7 and XP)
Windows 7
1.After the installation of the wireless adapter, bottom right corner
will appear icon, click this icon.
2.From the pop‐up network list, please select the network which is
to be connected, This device default SSID name is "COMFAST"
select it and click "Connect"
3.In the first use, it will appear tips as below picture, please select
"connect to the network without setting up the network", then click
"OK"
4.When it shows “connected”, means that your computer has
successfully accessed the wireless network
Windows XP
1. After the installation of the wireless icon, click this icon
2.From the pop‐up network list, please select the network which is
to be connected, This device default SSID name is ”COMFAST”,
select it and
3.When the up right corner appears ”Connected’ mark, means that
the computer has successfully accessed the wireless network.
5、 The Product Log in Interface
1.Open a web browser,type”192.168.10.1",hit”Enter”,language
select” English”, and fill the” User name” and” Password”(all is
”admin” by default),then click” Log in”.
2.After log in in the This device setting page, there are 3 working

6、 AP mode settings
1.Choose ”AP” mode as shown below:
2.Wireless SSID is the name of the wireless network, you can keep
default name, but suggest change to other name; Channel you can
select from 1 to 13 or Auto; Encryption recommended using
WPA/WPA2;key need type more than 8 letters or numbers
3.Click”APPLY” button, set up waiting for 20 seconds, then plug web
cable into the RJ45 wire port of This device, wireless hot spot
created successfully, at this time, laptop/mobile phone/pad etc.
devices can search out the SSID name which you set up, type the
key to connect and get the Internet.
7、 Repeater Mode
1.Choose”Repeater”mode as shown below, search and select the
SSID which you want to repeat and set up the” Repeater SSID”
(default name is “COMFAST”)an “Pre‐shared key”(note: pre‐shared
key is same as the key of the SSID which you want to repeat)
2.Click”connect”,set up waiting for 20 seconds, laptop/mobile
phone/pad etc. devices can search out the Repeater ”SSID”, type
the key to connect and get the Internet.
8、Wireless router mode
1.Choose"Router" mode as shown below, WAN Access Type default
type is "DHCP .Client(dynamic IP)"
2.PPPOE dial up setting: WAN Access Type choose PPoE, type the
User Name and Password which provide the SSID, Channel, Encryption
and key, click the "APPLY", set up waiting for 20 second.
3.Static IP setting: WAN Access Type choose Static IP, and type
the basic network parameters by ISP(Inter Service Provider), fill
up the SSID, Channel, Encryption and Key, click "APPLY", set up
waiting for 20 seconds.
Attention: Please choose WAN Access Type first before settings of
router mode.
9、 FAQ
1. If I forget the log in name and password of the device , what
should I do(how to reset the router)?
A. If you forget the log in name and password of the device, the only
way you can do is do factory reset to the device, then the log in name
and password will be restored to their default values. At the bottom
of the device there is a Reset button, when power is on, press and
hold the button for 10 seconds, after the indicator LED has blinked
3 times rapidly, release the button and finished the Reset operation.
2. What if i can't open the administrator page of device in browser?
A. Please make sure the IP address of your computer is in the same
network segment as the IP address of the device administrator page
you typed in browser: for example, if your device default log in IP
address is 192.168.10.1, then the IP address of your computer
should have been 192.168.10.x(x is any integer between 2 and 254):
B. Please make sure your browser setting is "Never dial a
connection" and disable proxy; Here is the steps of configuration
(suppose you use IE): Click "Tools"‐"Internet Options"‐"Connections",
choose" Never dial a connection"; Click "Lan settings", remove the
option of "Proxy server".
C. Try change another computer to log in: If all the 3 hints above
can't help you, please do the Factory Reset Operation to the device
and log in again.
3. Why my laptop can't search out the signal of Wi‐Fi SSID?
A. If your laptop has network adapter built‐in, please make sure the
Wi‐Fi function is enabled(we recommend you connect the laptop
vendor or read the laptop user manual);
B. At device manager interface, check whether the driver of network
adapter has been installed successfully;
C. Check whether the wifi service has been turned on, right click the
icon" my computer" on your desktop, choose manage. In "Computer
Management" wizard, click"Services and A applications",then on the
page of "Service", find the item "Wireless Zero Configuration" and
check its Status value.
D. Please make sure you've enabled the wifi capability and enabled
SSID broadcast.
E. Get closer to the router and try search again, Avoid the factor
of obstacles which reduce the intensity of signal;If the hints above
can't help you, please chick out whether another wireless network
adapter can connected to the router. If it still don't work, please do
the factory reset operation to resource the parameters back to their
default values.
4. What if i forget the security password?
A. Use network cable to connect the compute and the device, log in
device administration page and check the wireless security settings
B. Do the factory reset operation to the device, restore the
parameters back to their default values.
