Welcome to the FriedrichLink Firmware Update Tool
Your 2012 Kühl unit(s) must receive a firmware update before downloading the Wi-Fi Configuration Tool or the
Scheduler Application.
This tool makes it easy, by guiding you through the necessary steps to complete a firmware update whether you
have one or multiple Kühl units.
To proceed to the next step of the firmware download, click on the “Download Firmware” button below.

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
•2012 Kühl room air conditioner unit or units (make sure you know the model number for each unit)
•FriedrichLink Wi-Fi Adapter Accessory (sold separately) or properly formatted flash drive and USB to micro-USB cable
•Internet connection (see FAQs for detailed system requirements)

Step 1: Select your 2012 Kühl model number
Select the image or model number of the unit you are updating below:
Model Group 1 Model Group 2
Updating Multiple Kühl Models:
If you have multiple models from Group 1, select Model Group 1 (shown above) and complete remaining steps for 1 unit. For each remaining Group 1 unit, repeat
steps 3 and 4. (Detailed instructions provided later in this tutorial)
If you have multiple models from Group 2, select Model Group 2 (shown above) and complete remaining steps for 1 unit. For each remaining Group 2 unit, repeat
steps 3 and 4.
If you have models from both Group 1 and Group 2, update all group 1 models first (follow “multiple models from Group 1”), then repeat steps 1 – 4 for updating
all group 2 models (follow “multiple models from Group 2”).

Step 2: Download the firmware update to your flash drive
Forthisstep,you’llneedtousetheFriedrichLinkFlashDrive,foundinyourFriedrichLinkWiͲFiAdapteraccessorypackage.(see
imagesbelow).

Step 3: Connect flash drive to Kühl unit
1.OncethefirmwareupdatehasbeendownloadedtoyourFlashDrive,removeitfromyourcomputerandplugitintotheFriedrichLink
microUSBcable.(MicroUSBcableisfoundinyourFriedrichLink WiͲFiAdapteraccessorypackage).
2.Poweronyour2012KühlUnit.
Note:YouKühlunitMUSTbepoweredonpriortoplugginginthemicroUSBcableorthefirmwareupdatewillnotuploadproperly.
3.LowerthefrontpanelofyourKühlroomairconditionerandplugthemicroUSBcable(withflashdrivestillattached)intothemicroUSB
portofyourKühl,asshownbelow.Click“Next” toproceedtothenextstep.

Step 4: Upload firmware update into your Kühl Unit.
InordertoloadthefirmwareupdateintoyourKühl,usethefollowingbuttonsequencedependingonyourKühlmodel:
*Remember–Itiscriticaltousetheproperbuttonsequence,corresponding withyourKühlmodelandfirmwaredownload.
•ModelGroup1:Asshownbelow,presstheSYSTEM,FANMODEandUPARROWbuttonssimultaneouslyfortensecondstobeginthe
update.
•ModelGroup2:Asshownbelow,presstheFANMODE,FANSPEEDandUPARROWbuttonssimultaneouslyfortensecondstobeginthe
update
