Close all doors, windows, and other outside openings to the room. The effectiveness of the dehumidifier depends on the rate at which new moisture-laden air enters the room. 2. Place dehumidifier in a location that does not restrict airflow through the front of the unit or out of the louvers on the left side of cabinet. 3. A dehumidifier operating in a basement will have little or no effect in drying an adjacent enclosed storage area, such as a closet, unless there is adequate circulation of air in and out of the area. It may be necessary to install a second dehumidifier in the enclosed area for satisfactory drying. 4. The dehumidifier must be installed on a level floor that will support it with a full bucket of water. 5. There should be a minimum of 12 inches clearance around the dehumidifier. How It Works When the unit dehumidifying is started, the fan begins coils. The coils condense to or draw pull moisture-laden moisture through the side louvers into the room as dry, warm air. Moisture is collected in a bucket on the front of the dehumidifier. The unit is designed If the unit is switched before doing to operate between air across removed is fitted correctly from 41°F (5°C), and 96°F (35°C). off and needs to be switched on again, wait three so. To begin operating the dehumidifier, follow these steps: 1. . . Plug the power cord into a properly grounded 110/120 volt AC outlet. Note the POWER indicator will flash slowly. To turn the unit on press the ON/OFF button. The digital readout will indicate the room's relative humidity. The factory setting is 60%. If the room is below this the unit will not operate. Press the CONT button to place the unit in continuous dehumidifying mode. Pressing the CONT button, the unit will continuously dehumidify at the unit's lowest Relative Humidity (25%). In this mode the • & • buttons will be disabled. The CONT indicator will light in this mode. Use this feature when first using the unit for three or four days. When the sweating and dampness odors have stopped, press the CONT button again and use the HUMIDITY buttons to provide a "dryness" to suit your comfort. !_u_E_i_ ty e "_(_' _" 4. 5. The HUMIDITY • button raises the humidity setting. The maximum setting is 80%. The HUMIDITY • button lowers the humidity setting. The minimum setting is 35%. 6. Press the FAN button to change the fan speed to either HIGH or LOW. The indicator lights will show the setting you have selected. The High Fan should be selected for faster moisture removal. 7. Pressing the ON/OFF button at any time will shut down the unit, and the power indicator will go out. REMOVING 1. WATER Emptying the Bucket: a.
