Introduction
About minifring
minifring is a mobile internet service and part of the fring community that
enables you to access & interact with your social networks on-the-go. Developed
especially for J2ME devices that don’t support voice over IP calling, minifring
offers the same fring user experience including multi-IM chat and presence
(contact availability indicators) with all fring, Skype®, MSN® Messenger, Google
Talk™, ICQ and Twitter friends using your handset’s internet connection rather
than costly cellular airtime minutes or SMS.
minifring leverages packet technologies to pass chat and data over 3G/GPRS or
WAP internet access points configured in the handset.

Once you've installed minifring, its main screen displays your contacts names and
their presence status (e.g. whether they are online, offline or ‘away’ on
Skype/Google-Talk/MSN/ICQ). From the main contact list you can also navigate
between your contacts, find their presence status and initiate concurrent chat
sessions with them.
To sum it up, you'll not only make the internet from your mobile vastly more
useful, you can also save money.
This guide will help you get started.
