Charging the A03071 DeviceNOTICETo prevent corrosion, thoroughly dry thecontacts on the A03071 device and thesurrounding area before connecting thecharging clip.You should fully charge the battery beforeyou use the device for the first time.Charging a fully depleted battery takesabout two hours.1Snap the device À onto the chargingclip Á.2Plug the power cable into a powersource.The status LED is solid red when thedevice is charging.3After the status LED turns solid green,remove the charging clip from thedevice.Turning On the A03071 DeviceHold the power key until the statusLED turns green and the devicebeeps.Installing Backup BatteriesThe A03070 unit uses three AA batteries (notincluded). You should install backupbatteries in the A03070 unit to maintain anactive signal during a power outage.NOTE: Use NiMH or lithium batteries forbest results.1Turn the D-ring counter-clockwise, andpull up to remove the cover.2Insert three AA batteries, observingpolarity.3Replace the battery cover, and turn theD-ring clockwise.Quick Start Manual 3

Mounting Location Considerations• The A03070 unit should be approximately1.5 m (5 ft.) above the ground whenmounted.• The A03070 unit should be near a powersource.• The A03070 unit should be away frommetal structures, appliances,microwaves, and wireless routers forideal operation.• You must leave enough cable length toreach the power source.
