Getting Started with Symbio Part Names Where to put your Symbio Because Symbio includes a security camera, you should place it where the camera can see what you want to monitor. On a shelf or on the kitchen counter are great options. Press and hold for about 5 seconds to activate Wi-Fi pairing mode. * The USB terminal is used on the manufacturing line and for aftersales service. Using the Symbio Product Information 1. Plug in your Symbio Safety, compliance, and other important information regarding your Toshiba Symbio can be found on the website at www.TSB-SmartHome.com Plug the included AC adapter into the Symbio and connect to an AC outlet. When you first plug it in, the light ring will be white. When Symbio is ready for the next step, the light ring will start blinking blue. 2. Download the Toshiba Smart Home app Download the Toshiba Smart Home app to your smartphone or tablet from the App Store or Google Play. The app is where you will control most of the features and settings of the Symbio. 3. Start the Toshiba Smart Home app and set it up The setup process will start automatically when you open the app. During the setup, you will be connecting Symbio to the internet. You will need; • Your Wi-Fi password • An Amazon account sign-in * Bluetooth is a trademark owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and used by Toshiba under license. * App Store is a service mark of Apple Inc. * Google Play is a trademark owned by Google Inc. Notes on cleaning Wireless Radio For product available in the USA market, only channel 1-11 can be operated. Selection of other channels is not possible. The device could automatically discontinue transmission in case of absence of information to transmit, or operational failure. Note that this is not intended to prohibit transmission of control or signaling information or the use of repetitive codes where required by the technology. If this device is going to be operated in 5.155.25GHz frequency range, then it is restricted to an indoor environment only. PRECAUTIONS Notes on handling t When shipping the product, the original shipping carton and packing materials come in handy. For maximum protection, repack the product as it was originally packed at the factory. Take care not to give it a shock or shake when carrying. t Do not use volatile liquids, such as insect spray, near the product. Do not leave rubber or plastic products in contact with this product for a long time. They will leave marks on the finish. t The product may become warm after a long period of use. This is not a malfunction. t When the product is not in use, to disconnect the power. t If you do not use the product for a long period, the product may not function properly in the future. Turn on and use the product occasionally. Notes on locating Place the product on a level surface. Do not use it on a shaky or unstable surface such as a wobbling table or inclined stand. When you place this product near a TV, radio, or VCR, the playback picture may become poor and the sound may be distorted. In this case, place the product away from the TV, radio, or VCR. Do not use this product in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty or humid. Do not restrict the air flow of this product by placing somewhere with poor air flow, by covering it with a cloth, or by placing it on bedding or carpeting. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. t For stubborn dirt, soak the cloth in a weak detergent solution, wring well and wipe. Use a dry cloth to wipe it dry. Do not use any type of solvent, such as thinners and benzene, as they may damage the surface of the product. t If you use a chemical saturated cloth to clean the product, follow that product’s instructions. Notes on moisture condensation Moisture condensation damages the product Please read the following carefully: t Moisture condensation occurs, for example, when you pour a cold drink into a glass on a warm day. t Drops of water form on the outside of the glass. Moisture condensation occurs during the following cases: t When you bring the product directly from a cold place to a warm place. t When you use the product in a room where you just turned on the heater, or a place where the cold wind from the air conditioner directly hits the product.
