GARAGE DOOR TRANSCEIVERWARNINGSCAUTION: Do not use the transceiver withany garage door opener that lacks thesafety stop and reverse feature as required bysafety standards.CAUTION: When programming thetransceiver to a garage door opener orentry gate, make sure the area is clear. This willprevent potential harm or damage as the gateor garage door will activate during the program.CAUTIONThis device may suffer from interference ifoperated in the vicinity of a mobile or fixedstation transmitter. This interference is likely toaffect the hand-held transmitter as well as thein-car transceiver.The door transceiver is located in the rear-viewmirror. It can be programmed to transmit theradio frequencies of up to 3 differenttransmitters, which can be used to operategarage doors, entry gates, home lighting,security systems or other radio frequencyoperated devices.Although this section mainly describes theprocedures for a garage door opener, it equallyapplies to the previously mentioned applications.In some countries, this feature is also known asthe HomeLink® Universal Transceiver. If yourgarage door opener receiver (located in thegarage) is equipped with an antenna, make surethe antenna is hanging straight down.5Garage door opener
PROGRAMMINGE134838With the engine switched off;1. Make sure the ignition system is on.2. Hold the end of the original garage dooropener hand-held transmitter 2 to 6 inches(50 to 150 mm) away from the transceiverin the rear-view mirror, keeping the indicatorlamp in view.3. Using both hands, simultaneously press andhold both the chosen transceiver button onthe rear-view mirror, as shown above, andthe hand-held transmitter button. Keep bothbuttons pressed. The indicator lamp willflash slowly at first and then change to a fastflash. When the indicator lamp flashesrapidly, release both buttons. The rapidflashing lamp indicates successfulprogramming.4. If, after 60 seconds, the indicator lamp doesnot flash rapidly, release both the transceiverand the hand-held transmitter buttons andrepeat the procedure starting with Step 2.Position the hand-held transmitter at adifferent angle and/or distance.5. Press and hold the programmed garagedoor opener button and observe theindicator lamp.•If the indicator lamp illumination iscontinuous, programming is completeand your device should operate whenthe garage door opener button ispressed and held for approximately 1 to2 seconds and then released.•If the indicator lamp blinks rapidly for 2seconds and then illuminatescontinuously, proceed with the followingprogramming instructions for rollingcode device equipment.TO ERASE ALL PROGRAMMINGFor first time programming, make sure theengine is switched off:1. Make sure the ignition is on (but with theengine switched off).2. Press and hold the 2 outer buttons on thetransceiver in the rear view mirror. Keep thebuttons pressed until the indicator lampbegins to flash (this will take approximately20 seconds), then release the buttons.All memories in the garage door opener havenow been cleared.Note: Do not perform this procedure whenprogramming the additional garage door openerbuttons.ROLLING CODE DEVICE EQUIPMENTPROGRAMMINGNote: The assistance of a second person, maymake the following steps quicker and easier.Once the button has been pressed there are only30 seconds in which to complete Step 3.1. At the garage door opener receiver (motorhead unit) in the garage, locate the learn orsmart button/switch.•The name of the button or switch mayvary between manufacturers.2. Press and release the learn or smart button.3. Return to the vehicle and firmly press andhold the programmed garage door openerbutton for 2 seconds and release.4. Repeat the press, hold, release sequencethree times to complete the programmingprocess.The garage door opener in the rear view mirrorshould now activate the rolling code device.6Garage door opener
REPROGRAMMING A SINGLE GARAGEDOOR OPENER BUTTONTo program a device to a previouslyprogrammed button:1. Press and hold the desired pre-programmedgarage door opener button for at least 20seconds, but no longer than 30 seconds,until the indicator lamp begins to flash.2. Without releasing the rear-view mirrorbutton, position the hand-held transmitterapproximately 2 to 6 inches (50 to 150 mm)away from the transceiver in the rear-viewmirror, keeping the indicator lamp in view.3. Carry out Step 3 of Programming.ENTRY GATE/CANADIANPROGRAMMINGThe technology of some entry gates requiresyou to press and re-press (cycle) the hand-heldtransmitter button every 2 seconds duringprogramming.Continue to press and hold the desired rear-viewmirror button while you cycle your hand-heldtransmitter until the indicator lamp flashesrapidly.INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCECAUTIONWe recommend that the programmedtransceiver buttons be erased for securitypurposes when you sell or dispose of thevehicle.For information on the range of availablecompatible products or accessories, or forassistance, you should contact your Land RoverRetailer/Authorized Repairer.If you would like additional information on theHomelink Universal Transceiver, compatibleproducts or to purchase other accessories,contact your Land Rover Retailer/AuthorizedRepairer or you can also contact the Homelinkhelpline on 1-800-355-3515 or on the internetat www.homelink.com.Note: Keep the original transmitter for futureuse or programming procedures if, for example,you purchase a new vehicle.Note: The manufacturer is not responsible forany radio or TV interference caused byunauthorized modifications to this equipment.Such modifications could void the user’sauthority to operate the equipment.7Garage door opener
