POWER SOURCE
AC Operation ' - ,
Check to ensure that the voltage indicated on your set corresponds to the correct
voltage of your area. Model ALR130 for 110 to 130 volt and Model ALR240 for
220 to 240 volt.
Connect the AC plug into the wall AC outlet. 12:00 will flash on the display.
Battery Back up for Clock Memory
Keeps the clock time running in the event of a short AC power failure.
The correct time will show when AC power returns if battery is not dead.
Note: The clock display will not show the time during power outage.
Remove Cover from Battery Compartment located on bottom of unit.
Install a 9 Volt L1022 Alkaline Battery into the battery compartment matching + and -
markings, (Battery provided)
Replace battery as required. Do not leave battery in compartment when unit not in
use. Replacement batteries are available from Global Assistive Devices or from your
distributor.
SETTING THE CLOCK
Slide the SET SWITCH to the TIME position (SET switch is located on side).
To set the Hour: Press and hold the SET/ALM OFF BUTTON (located on the front)
and push the HOUR button until the correct hour shows. (Check that you havesetu
correctly in AM or PM PM indicator light will illuminate when in PM time)
To set the Minutes: Press and hold the SET/ALMOFF BUTTON (located on the
front) and push the MIN button until the correct minutes show.
SETTING THE ALARM CLOCK
Slide the SET SWITCH to the ALARM position. (SET switch is located on side)
To set the Hour: Press and hold the SET/ALMOFF BUTTON (located on the front)
and push the HOUR button until the desired time shows on the display. (Check that
you have set correctly in AM or PM. PM Indicator light will illuminate when set in PM
time.)
To set the Minutes: Press and hold the SET/ALMOFF BUTTON (located on the
front) and push the MlN button until the desired minutes show.
Slide the SET SWITCH (located on the side) back to TIME position to show current
time.
To check the Alarm Set Time, slide the SET SWITCH to the ALARM position.
TO ACTIVATE THE ALARM(S)
Slide the ALARM switch (located on the side) to the ON position. Alarm indicator
light will illuminate. f, _ ,. .. . . , . J .. . , -
When you do not want the Alarm(s) to be activated (example: weekends), slide the
ALARM switch to the OFF position. Alarm indicator light will not be illuminated. The
Alarm Clock will remain set for future use.
To TURN OFF THE ALARM CLOCK
Press the SET/ALMOFF button (located on the front) Alarm(s) will stop.
The Alarm Clock will remain set on standby to be activated again for the preset time.
SNOOZE ALARM
To activate the snooze feature, press the SNOOZE button (located on the front of the
unit). The alarm(s) will activate again in approximately 9 minutes. This may be
repeated.

ALARM/ALERTING OPTIONS
Audible: You can select the Volume and Tone that you require or want by rotating
the dials on the front of the unit, ; _ .
The VOLUME can be set from MIN (no sound) to MAX (loud).
The TONE is adjustable from Low to High to provide you with the optimum results.
Flashing: To have the Halogen light flash, set the FLASH switch (located on the
side) to ON position. Set it to the OFF position if you do not want it to flash.
Vibration: Connect a 12 Volt Bedshaker to the back of the unit marked VIBRATOR.
Place the Bedshaker between your box spring and mattress or under your pillow.

HALOGEN LAMP
To turn on the Halogen Lamp, slide the switch marked LAMP to the ON position.
Turn to OFF for lamp off.
The lamp has an automatic off switch for safety and will turn the lamp off when the
top cover of the unit is lowered below the horizontal position.
The Halogen Lamp has a short circuit protection feature. In the even ofa short
circuit, the lamp will turn off. To restart, switch the lamp to the off position and then to
on after one second.
Lamp uses a 12V/20W Halogen Bulb. When replacement is necessary, follow the
instructions below. Replace only with 12V/20W Halogen Bulb.
How to Replace the Halogen Bulb
Disconnect power to the Unit.
Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws supporting the frame.
Take off the frame and protective glass.
Take out the defective bulb from the bulb socket carefully.
Insert a new 12 volt 20 watt halogen bulb to the lamp socket.
(Do not touch the bulb with your fingers. Use cloth to prevent damage to the bulb.)

TELEPHONE RING SIGNALER
Connect your telephone to the RJ11 jack at the back of the unit. Vlfith the cord
provided, plug one end into the second RJ11 jack at the back of the unit and the
other end of the cord into the wall phonejack ' ~ ‘ ‘
ACCESS 2 will respond to the Telephone Ring with the functions that are set.
Flashing Light and/or Vibrator will be activated.
WIRELESS DOOR ANNOUNCER
Select a Door Knocker or Door Button (purchased separately) and position up to 75
feet away from main unit.

ACCESS 2 will respond to Door Announcer with functions that are set.

LIMITED WARRANTY
ACCESS 2 is warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for One
Year from the date of purchase. This is a limited warranty and does not apply to the
battery, telephone line cord or Halogen Bulb. This warranty does not cover any unit
which has been subject to misuse, negligence or accident. This warranty is void if
the unit has been tampered with, altered or repaired by other than a qualified service
center. At its option GLOBAL ASSISTIVE DEVICES, INC may select to replace the
unit, ratherthan repair it. During the warranty period, return the unit, with dated proof
of purchase, in a secure package, insured and with shipping charges prepaid. N0

CAUTION
Lamp head when 'on‘ is very hot. Do not touch the bulb when it is on.
Use only a 12 V Halogen bulb 20 watt maximum wattage.
Disconnect and allow to cooifor'at least 15 minutes before replacing thebulb. .
Keep lamp away from curtains and any flammable materials.
The appliance should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat
registers, stoves, or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat,
