IN THIS BOX

LABELED “SERVICE”; IT
MUST BE LABELED “USB”
OR DISPLAY THIS SYMBOL:
1. H840 Media Device.
Your H840 Media Device
plugs into any HDMI port
on your TV, and uses your
existing Wi-Fi network to
stream video from the
internet to your TV. The
H840 Media Device is
controlled from devices on
the same Wi-Fi network,
such as smart phones,
tablets, or computers, and
is powered using the USB
cable (#2, included).
2. USB cable. The USB
cable provides power to
your H840 Media Device.
One end plugs into your
H840 Media Device, and
the other end plugs into
either a USB port on your

power supply is optional,
and can be used with the
USB cable to power your
H840 Media Device if your
TV does not have a USB
port.
4. HDMI extender. The
HDMI extender is optional,
and can be used if your
H840 Media Device does
not fit directly into your
TV. The H840 Media Device
app may also recommend
using it to improve your
Wi-Fi reception. Plug one
end into your H840 Media
Device, and the other end
into your TV.
5. HDMI adapter. The
HDMI adapter is not used,
and is only included for
regulatory compliance.

WARNINGS TO USERS
H840 Media Device may get
hot to the touch; this is normal.
Unplug H840 Media Device’s
power source and let it cool
before removing it from your
television.
Use only the cables provided
with your device to plug H840
Media Device into a power
source. Using other cables may
damage H840 Media Device
and/or your television.
Do not expose H840 Media
Device to water or extreme
conditions (heat, cold, dust),
as H840 Media Device may
malfunction or cease to work
when exposed to such elements.
Do not attempt to disassemble
or repair H840 Media Device
yourself. Doing so voids the
limited warranty and could harm
you, your television, and/or
H840 Media Device.
H840 Media Device is an
entertainment device; it is not
designed, manufactured or
intended for use in hazardous
environments requiring fail-safe
performance in which the failure
of H840 Media Device could
lead directly to death, personal
injury, or severe physical or
environmental damage.
H840 Media Device LIMITED
WARRANTY
Google Inc. (“Google”) warrants
the H840 Media Device (which
includes the H840 Media Device
device and the ancillary parts
packaged with it) against defects
in materials and workmanship
under normal use for one year
from the date the H840 Media
Device is first purchased by
an end user (collectively, the
“Limited Warranty”).
This Limited Warranty is
only valid and enforceable
in countries where the H840
Media Device is sold. This
Limited Warranty only applies
to hardware components, and
Google does not provide any
warranty for damage caused by
normal wear and tear, accidents,
misuse (including failure to
follow product documentation
and plugging the device or
other included parts into the
wrong type of port), neglect,
disassembly, alterations and
external causes such as but
not limited to extreme thermal
or environmental conditions
(including but not limited to
moisture and heavy dust).
This Limited Warranty does
not guarantee that use of the
H840 Media Device will be
uninterrupted or error free.
EXCLUSIVE REMEDY: If a
defect arises and you return
your H840 Media Device during
the one-year warranty period,
Google will, in its sole discretion
and to the extent permitted by
law, (1) replace the defective
H840 Media Device with a new
or refurbished device with
functionality at least equivalent
to the defective device; or (2)
refund the user the amount
paid for the H840 Media Device
(not including any shipping or
handling amounts). If Google
replaces any H840 Media
Device, the replaced device
will continue to be warranted
for the remaining time of the
original warranty period. All
returned parts for which you
have received a replacement
will become the property of
Google. To make a warranty
claim, please contact Google
Play Support at http://support.
google.com/googleplay/.
In order to qualify for the
remedy above, you must
provide your name, contact
information, and the serial
number of your H840 Media
Device. In certain situations, you
may also be required to provide
a purchase receipt.
THE LIMITED WARRANTY
WRITTEN ABOVE IS THE ONLY
EXPRESS WARRANTY GOOGLE
PROVIDES FOR THE H840
Media Device, AND THE ABOVE
REMEDY IS YOUR SOLE REMEDY.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT
PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW,
GOOGLE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS
ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND
CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND,
WHETHER STATUTORY OR
IMPLIED, REGARDING THE H840
Media Device, EXCEPT THAT
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS
FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE,
AND NON-INFRINGEMENT
ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO
THE ONE-YEAR PERIOD OF THE
EXPRESS WARRANTY ABOVE.
Some States do not allow
limitations on how long an
implied warranty lasts, so the
above limitation may not apply
to you.
YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND
AND AGREE THAT, TO THE
MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED
BY APPLICABLE LAW, GOOGLE
AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES AND
AFFILIATES (COLLECTIVELY,
“GOOGLE PARTIES”) SHALL NOT
BE LIABLE TO YOU UNDER ANY
THEORY OF LIABILITY (WHETHER
CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING
NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHERWISE)
FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL,
SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR
EXEMPLARY DAMAGES THAT
MAY BE INCURRED BY YOU IN
CONNECTION WITH THE H840
Media Device OR THESE TERMS,
INCLUDING ANY LOSS OF DATA,
WHETHER OR NOT A GOOGLE
PARTY OR ITS REPRESENTATIVES
HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF OR
SHOULD HAVE BEEN AWARE
OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ANY
SUCH LOSSES ARISING. YOU
EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND
AGREE THAT, TO THE MAXIMUM
EXTENT PERMITTED BY
APPLICABLE LAW, THE GOOGLE
PARTIES’ TOTAL LIABILITY IN
CONNECTION WITH THE H840
Media Device OR THIS LIMITED

PAID GOOGLE FOR THE H840
Media Device.
Some States do not allow
the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential
damages, so the above
limitation or exclusion may not
apply to you.
No employee or representative
of Google or its affiliates or
any third party is authorized
to make any modification,
extension or addition to this
Limited Warranty. If any term of
this Limited Warranty is held to
be illegal or unenforceable, the
remaining terms of this Limited
Warranty will remain in full force
and effect.
This warranty gives you specific
legal rights, and you also may
have other rights which vary
from State to State.

NOTICES

technology subject to certain
intellectual property rights of
Microsoft. Use or distribution of
this technology outside of this
product is prohibited without
the appropriate license(s) from
Microsoft.
Content owners use Microsoft
PlayReady™ content access
technology to protect their
intellectual property, including
copyrighted content. This
device uses PlayReady
technology to access PlayReadyprotected content and/or
WMDRM-protected content.
If the device fails to properly
enforce restrictions on content
usage, content owners may
require Microsoft to revoke
the device’s ability to consume
PlayReady-protected content.
Revocation should not affect
unprotected content or content
protected by other content
access technologies. Content
owners may require you to
upgrade PlayReady to access
their content. If you decline an
upgrade, you will not be able to
access content that requires the
upgrade.

NOTE ON INTERFERENCE IN A
RESIDENTIAL INSTALLATION
This device has been tested
and found to comply with
the limits for a Class B digital
device, pursuant to part 15 of
the FCC Rules. These limits are
designed to provide reasonable
protection against harmful
interference in a residential
installation. H840 Media
Device generates, uses and
can radiate radio frequency
energy and, if not installed
and used in accordance with
the instructions, may cause
harmful interference to radio
communications. However,
there is no guarantee that
interference will not occur
in a particular installation. If
H840 Media Device does cause

harmful interference to radio or
television reception, which can
be determined by plugging in,
then unplugging, H840 Media
Device, the user is encouraged
to try to correct the interference
by reorienting or relocating
the receiving antenna and/
or consulting the dealer or an
experienced radio/TV technician
for help.
H840 Media Device complies
with part 15 of the FCC Rules.
Operation is subject to the
following two conditions: (1) the
device may not cause harmful
interference, and (2) this device
must accept any interference
received, including interference
that may cause undesired
operation.
Changes or modifications not
expressly approved by the party
responsible for compliance
could void the user’s authority
to operate H840 Media Device
