It will not alert you to your child’s silent activities.When using the monitor, you must still provide the supervision necessary for the continued safety of your child. This productis not designed or intended for use as a medical monitor. Always be sure that both the transmitter and receiver are workingproperly and are within range of each other.•STRANGULATION HAZARD. Keep the adapter cords out of the reach of children. Do not use with extension cords. •DO NOT place the Nursery Unit or its cord within your child’s reach. Do not put the Nursery Unit inside a crib or play yard. •Use ONLY with 110-120 volt AC electrical outlets.•Protect the AC adapter cords. Place them so they are not walked on or pinched by furniture or other items. •Allow for proper ventilation when units are in use. Do not cover the Nursery Unit or Parent Units with any object suchas a blanket. Do not place it in a drawer or in any location which would muffle the sound or interfere with the normal flow of air. •DO NOT immerse any part of the Nursery Unit, Parent Units, or docking station in water. Clean only with a dry cloth. •DO NOT place unit near water and moisture. Do not use the Nursery Unit outdoors. Do not use the Nursery Unit near possiblewet areas, such as a bathtub, shower, wash basin, sink, laundry tub, swimming pool, wet basement, etc. •Keep Nursery Unit away from heat sources, such as fireplaces, radiators, stoves, and TVs or other appliances. Parent Unit• The Parent Units are shipped with rechargeable batteries alreadyinstalled. The battery must be plugged into the Parent Unit before theunit will be ready for use. If the need to replace the rechargeable batteries should occur, remove the battery door cover on the ParentUnit with a key or flat blade screw driver. Lift the battery out of thecompartment, and carefully unplug the battery from the unit.Nursery Unit•Turn the unit over, and use a key or flat blade screw driver to removethe battery door.•Place 3-AAA (1.5V-LR03) batteries into the battery compartment. Notethe proper orientation of the batteries. •Place the battery door back on the unit.•Please remove a dead battery promptly. A dead battery left in the unitmay leak, damaging your unit. •Do not attempt to recharge a non-rechargeable battery. •Arechargeable battery CANNOT be recharged by plugging the ACadapter into the Nursery Unit. •Remove the batteries from the unit if it is no longer being used or willbe stored for an extended period of time.•The Parent Unit(s) can use either the rechargeable batterythat comes with the unit or standard 120 volt AC household current. The NurseryUnit uses 3-AAA (1.5V-LR03) batteries or standard 120 volt AC household current. • To use AC adapters, plug the connector on the cord into the AC adapter jack on the side of the Parent Unit (under the rubber cover) and the back of the NurseryUnit. If using the docking station, plug the AC adapter jack into the back of thedocking station. The Parent Unit may now be placed in the docking station. Then plug adapter into a standard wall outlet. •Use ONLY the Graco adapters included with the unit. Do not use these adapters with other equipment under any circumstances. • If units do not work, check that AC adapters are plugged into working outlets. •When electricity is off (from a power failure, etc.), the Nursery Unit will operate on 3-AAA (1.5V-LR03) batteries. If the PowerLED is not lit, turn the power off and then back on to the Nursery Unit. A green LED indicates that the batteries are fine. A redLED indicates that the batteries are low. If the LED does not light at all, then replace the batteries. The Parent Unit will operateif the rechargeable battery is charged.• In case you are experiencing some interference, the channel on the Nursery Unit can be changed by pressing the “ch” button on the side of the unit. The Parent Unit will automatically scan all of the available channels until it locks on to theNursery Unit. If you are still experiencing interference, press the channel button on the side of the Nursery Unit up to 6times until a good channel is found.Battery InstallationUsing AC AdaptersSelecting Channels3+-+-+-
Low Battery IndicationParent Unit•When the battery is low in the parent unit, the LED bar on the side of the unit will change from green to red and you willhear a series of 3 audible beeps every 5 seconds. If operated too long on a low battery, you may also experience a poor signal and the connection LED on the front of the parent unit may change from green to red and you will begin to hear acontinuous audible beep from the Parent Unit.•You may either turn off the unit, plug in the A/C adapter or place the unit in the docking station to recharge the batteries.Nursery Unit •When the batteries are low in the Nursery Unit, the power LED will change from green to red. You may also experience apoor signal and the connection LED on the front of the Parent Unit may change from green to red and you will begin tohear the Parent Unit beep.•You may either turn off the unit, plug in the A/C adapter or replace the batteries.Out of Range Indication•If the Parent Unit begins to lose the signal from the Nursery Unit, the connection LED (bottom Sound Light LED) will changefrom green to red. Additionally, a continuous audible beep will be generated to warn the user that the connection to theNursery unit has been lost.•Immediately move the Parent Unit closer to the Nursery Unit to regain connection.•Once connection has been re-gained, the connection LED will change from red to green and the audible beep will stop.***Note: It is not uncommon for the Parent Unit to occasionally lose and regain connection with the NurseryUnit in environments that have a significant amount of obstructions.Setting Up the Baby Monitor4***NOTE: It is very important that the steps below be followed for first time power-up.1. For optimum operation, it is best to charge the batteries in the Parent Unit for at least 16 hours prior to use. DO NOT turn onpower while the unit is charging for the first time.2. Place the NurseryUnit within 10 feet (3 meters) of your baby.Plug an AC adapter into the jack on the back of the NurseryUnit.Plug it into a working 120 volt AC outlet.3. Aim the NurseryUnit toward your baby. Check that there are no walls or large objects that could block sound transmission. 4. Place the Parent Unit within five (5) feet (1.5 meters) of the NurseryUnit and turn on the Parent Unit using the On/Off switchon the side of the unit. All of the Sound Light LEDs will illuminate, and the bottom LED will be red. You will also hear a singleaudible beep.5. Turn on the Nursery Unit using the On/Off switch on the side. The green power light should come on.6. Within a few seconds, the Parent Unit will lock on to the Nursery Unit and the top four (4) green LEDs will shut off. Asecond later, you will hear a series of beeps and the connection LED should change from red to green. Your monitor is nowready for use. 7. If the top four (4) LEDs do not shut off, power off the Parent Unit and the Nursery Unit and repeat steps 4 and 5 above.8. If the connection LED on the Parent Unit does not change from red to green and the unit begins to beep, press the channel “ch” button on the NurseryUnit. Within a few seconds, the Parent Unit should lock in on the NurseryUnit and the connection LED should change from red to green. You may hear an audible beep during this process.9. If the Parent Unit is still unable to lock in on the NurseryUnit (connection LED will be red and the unit will beep), power downboth the Parent Unit and the NurseryUnit. Wait for 10 seconds then hold the volume down button on the Parent Unit whilepressing the On/Off switch. When the unit powers up, you will hear a single beep and all of the soundlights will illuminate.Release the volume down switch and within 2 seconds you will hear two beeps and all of the Sound Light LEDs will stay lit andthe bottom LED will be red.10. Repeat steps 5 & 6 above.11. Repeat same set-up procedure if your system has two Parent Units.
It is VERY IMPORTANT to test the system when first set up, and at regular times thereafter. Test the units if yoususpect they may have been damaged or have not been used for a long time. 1. If two adults are present, have one take the Parent Units to different locations, trying various volume settings, while theother speaks into the Nursery Unit. 2. If only one adult is available, place a ticking clock, radio, or other sound-producing device near the Nursery Unit to test it. 3. When testing, keep the level of your child’s sounds in mind, and adjust the volume accordingly. 4. If there is sound interference, switch the Nursery Unit and the Parent Units to the other channel setting.•Some units come equipped with a Parent Finder feature. This feature will allow you to locate a misplaced Parent Unit aslong as the Parent Unit is powered on and within range of the Nursery Unit. • To activate, press the “PF” button on the side of the NurseryUnit (the NurseryUnit needs to be ON).•The Parent Unit will generate an audible beep every second and the soundlights will flash on and off.•Once the Parent Unit is located, the audible beep can be shut-off by pressing any button on the Parent Unit.Most problems have a simple solution. First, check that:•Power is turned ON for both units •Both units are plugged in (or batteries are fresh in NurseryUnit and fully charged in Parent Unit) •Electrical outlet works •Volume is turned up on Parent Unit •Parent Unit is in range of the NurseryUnitNo Sound•Battery dead or weak — replace or use AC adapter. • AC adapter not properly connected — check the connections. •Nursery Unit covered or blocked — remove the obstruction.Weak Sound•Nursery Unit too far from baby — move closer. •Large objects blocking the signal — tryrepositioning NurseryUnit. •Volume setting too low — turn it up.Testing the SystemOperationTo Listen To Baby•Turn on Nursery Unit using the ON/OFF switch.•Turn on one or both Parent Units using the ON/OFF switch.•Adjust the volume on the Parent Unit by pressing the Volume Up/Down buttons. Note that the Sound Lights LEDs illuminate as the volume button is pressed up or down to provide a visual feedback for the volume level. The unit will beeplouder or softer depending on the volume level.•The Sound Lights on the Parent Unit will illuminate as your child (or other objects) make noise near the Nursery Unit. Pleasenote that the Sound Lights and volume control on the Parent Unit are independent of each other. With the volume turned allthe way down, the Sound Lights will still illuminate as your child (or other objects) make noise near the Nursery Unit. Parent Finder FeatureTroubleShooting5Static•Interference from other electrical equipment —eliminate cause of static (TVs, mixers, computers, fans, fluorescent lights, light dimmers, etc.) •Parent Unit too far from Nursery Unit — move themcloser. •Significant amount of obstructions between Parent Unit and Nursery Unit such as walls, ceilings & buildings. Try moving the Nursery Unit to another part of the room.•Change channel on NurseryUnit.Shrill Sound (Feedback)•Nursery Unit and Parent Unit too close together — move them farther apart. • Volume set too high — lower the volume.DO NOT ATTEMPT to modify the unit. Any modifications to the transmitter and/or receiver can void theoperator’s authority to operate the equipment.

Unidad para padres•Las Unidades para padres se envían con pilas recargables instaladas. Lapila debe estar instalada en la Unidad para padres antes de que launidad esté lista para su uso. En caso de que ocurra la necesidad decambiar las pilas recargables, saque la puerta de las pilas de la Unidadpara padres con una llave odestornillador plano. Saque la pila del compartimiento y desenchufecuidadosamente la pila de la unidad.Unidad del dormitorio•Devuelta la unidad y use una llave o destornillador plano para sacar latapa de las pilas.•Ponga 3 pilas tamaño AAA (1,5V-LR03) en el compartimiento de laspilas. Note la orientación correcta de las pilas.•Ponga la puerta de las pilas de nuevo en la unidad. •Por favor, saque la pila descargada inmediatamente. Una piladescargada en la unidad podría perder y dañar a la unidad.• No trate de recargar pilas que no son recargables.• Una pila recargable NO PUEDE recargarse enchufando el adaptador decorriente alternada en la Unidad del dormitorio.•Saque las pilas de la unidad si ya no la usa más o si la guardará duranteun período largo de tiempo. •Las Unidades para padres pueden usar la pila recargable que viene con la unidad o la electricidad estándar de la vivienda de120 voltios de corriente alternada. Instalación del monitor del bebé***NOTA: Es muy importante que los pasos que siguen se observen durante la primera instalación. 1. Para un funcionamiento óptimo, es mejor cargar las pilas en la Unidad para padres por lo menos durante 16 horas antes deluso. NO la encienda mientras la unidad se carga para la primera vez. 2. Ponga la Unidad del dormitorio dentro de una distancia de 10 pies (3 metros) de su bebé. Enchufe un adaptador de corrientealternada en el enchufe trasero de la Unidad del dormitorio. Enchúfelo a un tomacorriente energizado de 120 voltios de corrientealternada. 3. Oriente la Unidad del dormitorio hacia su bebé. Verifique que no haya paredes ni objetos grandes que pudieran bloquear latransmisión del sonido. 4. Ponga la Unidad para padres dentro de una distancia de cinco (5) pies (1,5 metros) de la Unidad del dormitorio y encienda laUnidad para padres usando el interruptor de encendido y apagado del costado de la unidad. En unos pocos segundos, la Unidad para padres se comunicará con la Unidad del dormitorio y se apagarán los cuatro (4)diodos electroluminiscentes verdes de arriba. Un segundo después, escuchará una serie de sonidos y el diodo de conexióncambiará de rojo a verde. El monitor está ahora listo para el uso. 7. Si los cuatro (4) diodos electroluminiscentes de arriba no se apagan, apague la Unidad para padres y la Unidad del dormitorio yrepita los pasos 4 y 5 anteriores. 8. Si el diodo electroluminiscente de conexión en la Unidad para padres no cambia de rojo a verde y la unidad comienza a sonar,oprima el botón del canal “ch” en la Unidad del dormitorio. Dentro de unos pocos segundos, la Unidad para padres encontraráa la Unidad del dormitorio y el diodo electroluminiscente de conexión cambiará de rojo a verde. Podría escuchar un sonidodurante este proceso. 4
Es MUY IMPORTANTE probar al sistema cuando lo instala por primera vez y periódicamente en adelante.Pruebe las unidades si sospecha que podrían haber resultado dañadas o no han sido usadas durante un tiempo largo. 1. Si hay dos adultos presentes, haga que uno lleve las Unidades para padres a lugares diferentes, probando varios niveles delvolumen mientras el otro habla en la Unidad del dormitorio. 2. Si solamente hay un adulto disponible, ponga un reloj que suene, radio u otro dispositivo que produzca sonidos cerca de laUnidad del dormitorio para probarla. 3. Mientras hace la prueba, mantenga el nivel del sonido de su niño en mente y ajuste el volumen lo necesario.4. Si hay interferencia con el sonido, pase la Unidad del dormitorio y las Unidades para padres a otro canal. Prueba del sistemaFuncionamientoPara escuchar al bebé•Encienda la Unidad del dormitorio usando el interruptor de ENCENDIDO/APAGADO. •Encienda una o ambas de las Unidades para padres usando el interruptor de ENCENDIDO/APAGADO. •Ajuste el volumen en la Unidad para padres oprimiendo los botones para subir y bajar el volumen. Note que los diodoselectroluminiscentes indicadores de sonido se iluminan a medida que se oprime el botón para subir o bajar el volumen paraproporcionar una indicación visual del nivel del volumen. La unidad sonará más alta o más baja según el nivel del volumen. • Las luces indicadoras de sonido de la Unidad para padres se iluminarán cuando su niño (u otros objetos) hacen ruido cercade la Unidad del dormitorio. Por favor, note que las luces indicadoras de sonido y el control del volumen de la Unidad parapadres son independientes. Con el volumen totalmente bajo, las luces indicadoras de sonido se iluminarán cuando su niño(u otros objetos) hagan ruido cerca de la Unidad del dormitorio. 59. Si la Unidad para padres todavía no puede comunicarse con la Unidad del dormitorio (el diodo electroluminiscente deconexión será de color rojo y se escuchará a la unidad), apague la Unidad para padres y la Unidad del dormitorio. Espere 10segundos y luego oprima el botón para bajar el volumen en la Unidad para padres mientras oprime el interruptor deencendido y apagado. Cuando la unidad se encienda, escuchará un solo sonido y todas las luces indicadoras de sonido seiluminarán. Libere el botón para bajar el volumen y dentro de 2 segundos escuchará dos sonidos y todos los diodoselectroluminiscentes indicadores de sonido seguirán encendidos y el diodo electroluminiscente de abajo tendrá color rojo. 10. Repita los pasos 5 y 6.11. Repita el mismo procedimiento de instalación si su sistema tiene dos Unidades para padres.•Algunas unidades vienen equipadas con una función de Búsqueda de padres. Esta función le permite ubicar a la Unidadpara padres siempre que la Unidad esté encendida y dentro de la distancia de la Unidad del dormitorio. •Para activarla, oprima el botón “PF” en el costado de la Unidad del dormitorio (la Unidad del dormitorio debe estarACTIVADA). •La Unidad para padres generará un sonido cada segundo y las luces indicadoras de sonido destellarán. • Una vez que ha encontrado la Unidad para padres, el sonido se apagará si oprime cualquier botón en la unidad. La mayoría de los problemas tienen simple solución.Primero, verifique que: •La electricidad esté ENCENDIDA en ambas unidades. •Ambas unidades estén enchufadas (o que las pilas están cargadasen la Unidad del dormitorio y totalmente cargadas en la Unidadpara padres) •El tomacorriente está energizado •El volumen está alto en la Unidad para padres•La Unidad para padres está dentro de la distancia requerida de laUnidad del dormitorioNo hay sonido•La pila está descargada o con poca carga – cámbiela o use eladaptador de corriente alternada.•El adaptador de corriente alternada no está conectado correcta-mente – verifique las conexiones.•La Unidad del dormitorio está cubierta o bloqueada – saque laobstrucción.Bajo sonido•La Unidad del dormitorio está demasiado lejos del bebé – muévalamás cerca.•Objetos grandes bloquean la señal – trate de poner la Unidad deldormitorio en otro lugar.•Volumen demasiado bajo – súbalo.Solución de desperfectosEstática•Interferencia de otros equipos eléctricos – elimine lacausa de la estática (televisores, mezcladores,computadoras, ventiladores, luces fluorescentes,potenciómetro de luces, etc.)•La Unidad para padres está demasiado lejos de laUnidad del dormitorio – muévala más cerca.•Una cantidad significante de obstrucciones entre laUnidad para padres y la Unidad del dormitorio, comoparedes, techos y edificios. Pruebe mover la Unidad deldormitorio a otra parte de la sala.•Cambie el canal en la Unidad del dormitorio. Sonido agudo (retroalimentación)•La Unidad del dormitorio y la Unidad para padres estándemasiado cerca – sepárelas más. •Volumen fijado demasiado alto – baje el volumen. NO INTENTE MODIFICAR LA UNIDAD. CUALQUIER MODIFICACIÓN AL TRANSMISOR Y/O RECEPTOR PUEDECANCELAR LA AUTORIDAD DEL OPERADOR PARA USAR EL EQUIPO. 6
