Failure to properly use this child restraint increases the risk
of serious injury or death in a sharp turn, sudden stop or
crash. Your child’s safety depends on you installing and
using this child restraint correctly. Use ONLY forward facing.

Even if using this child restraint seems easy to figure out on
your own, it is very important to READ, UNDERSTAND AND
FOLLOW THE OWNER’S MANUAL.
The manual should be stored in the slot below the recline
lever.
You must also read your vehicle owner’s manual.
Your child’s safety depends on:

1. Inserting the harness straps in the proper slots for
your child.
2. Properly securing your child in the child restraint.

3. Selecting a suitable location for the child restraint in
your vehicle.

4. Properly routing and securing the vehicle seat belt or
properly using LATCH.

2.1 Register Your Child Restraint

Please fill in the above information. The model number
and manufactured in (date) can be found on a label
underneath your child restraint. Fill out the prepaid
registration postcard attached to the seat cover and
mail it today.
Child restraints could be recalled for safety reasons.

3.0 Important Information
3.1 Warnings

• DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THIS CHILD RESTRAINT
UNTIL YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND THE
INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL AND IN YOUR
VEHICLE OWNER’S MANUAL. DO NOT let others
install or use the child restraint unless they understand
how to use it.

• FAILURE TO PROPERLY USE THIS CHILD
RESTRAINT INCREASES THE RISK OF SERIOUS
INJURY OR DEATH IN A SHARP TURN, SUDDEN
STOP OR CRASH. Your child can be injured in a vehicle
even if you are not in a crash. Sudden braking and sharp
turns can injure your child if the child restraint is not
properly installed or if your child is not properly secured in
the child restraint.

• PLACE THIS CHILD RESTRAINT IN A FORWARD
FACING POSITION ONLY.

• NEVER PLACE THIS CHILD RESTRAINT IN A
VEHICLE SEATING LOCATION THAT HAS A FRONT
AIR BAG. If an air bag inflates, it
can hit the child and child restraint
with great force and cause serious
injury or death to your child. Refer to
your vehicle owner’s manual for
information about side air bags and
child restraint installation.

• According to accident statistics, CHILDREN ARE SAFER
WHEN PROPERLY RESTRAINED IN REAR VEHICLE
SEATING POSITIONS RATHER THAN FRONT
SEATING POSITIONS. For a vehicle with a front
passenger air bag, refer to your vehicle owner’s manual
as well as these instructions for child restraint installation.
• NEVER LEAVE YOUR CHILD UNATTENDED.

• WARNING: Use vehicle belt (not LATCH connectors) for
installations with children weighing more than 48 pounds
(21kg). NOTE: that some vehicle manufacturer’s have lower
maximum weight ratings for LATCH anchors, so you must
consult your vehicle owner’s manual or call the vehicle
manufacturer to confirm the limits on your vehicle’s
LATCH anchors.

• NEVER LEAVE A CHILD RESTRAINT UNSECURED IN
YOUR VEHICLE. An unsecured child restraint can be
thrown around and may injure occupants in a sharp turn,
sudden stop or crash. Remove it or make sure that it is
securely belted in the vehicle. If not using LATCH, make
sure LATCH connectors are properly stored on back of
seat. See page 32 for LATCH storage.
• REPLACE THE CHILD RESTRAINT AFTER AN
ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND. An accident can cause
damage to the child restraint that you cannot see.

• STOP USING CHILD RESTRAINT AND THROW IT
AWAY after the date molded into the bottom of the child
restraint. “DO NOT use this car seat after December
(Year)”

• DO NOT MODIFY YOUR CHILD RESTRAINT or use any
accessories or parts supplied by other manufacturers.

• NEVER USE CHILD RESTRAINT IF IT HAS DAMAGED
OR MISSING PARTS. DO NOT use a cut, frayed or
damaged child restraint harness, LATCH belt or vehicle
seat belt.

• THE CHILD RESTRAINT CAN BECOME VERY HOT IF
LEFT IN THE SUN. Contact with these parts can burn
your child’s skin. Always touch the surface of any metal or
plastic parts before putting your child in the child restraint.

• THIS CHILD RESTRAINT CONFORMS to all
applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards
and is certified for use in motor vehicles and Aircraft.

3.2 Height and Weight Limits
TO AVOID SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH DO NOT
USE THE CHILD RESTRAINT FOR A CHILD
LARGER OR SMALLER THEN THE WEIGHT AND
HEIGHT RANGE LISTED BELOW.

Your child MUST meet ALL requirements:
• WEIGHT: 20 to 50 lbs (9 to 23 kg)
• HEIGHT: 48 inches (122 cm) or less
• At least one year old and can
sit upright unassisted
• Top harness slots are AT OR
ABOVE child’s shoulders.
• The child’s ears are below
top of child restraint.

**Vehicles are now (or can be) equipped with tether anchor
points behind some seats. A tether anchors the top of the
child restraint to the body of the vehicle. When used
properly with the vehicle seat belt or LATCH, a tether
helps reduce injury in a sudden stop or crash.

***United States Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards
have defined a new system for installing child restraints in
vehicles. The system is called LATCH. LATCH may ONLY
be used IN PLACE of vehicle belt if vehicle is
equipped with LATCH anchor points. Please refer
to vehicle owner’s manual for LATCH locations
in vehicles.

5.0 Using Child Restraint
Harness
5.1 Positioning the Harness Straps

FAILURE TO PROPERLY ADJUST THE HARNESS
STRAPS FOR YOUR CHILD INCREASES THE RISK
OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IN THE EVENT OF
A SHARP TURN, SUDDEN STOP OR CRASH. Snugly
adjust the belts provided with this child restraint around
your child. A snug strap should not allow any slack. It lies
in a relatively straight line without sagging. It does not
press on the child’s flesh or push the child’s body into
an unnatural position.

seat forward, so you will
have access to the back

b) From the side of the seat,
pull the harness and metal
junction plate out and
remove straps from metal
junction plate Ì.

c) Pull strap ends through
slots Í and reinsert them in
the correct slots Î as
determined in step 4,

Check that the straps
are not twisted.

d) Reassemble straps onto
metal junction plate exactly
as shown Ï. Check that
straps are completely within
the slots and that they are
not twisted.
e) Check that the straps
are inserted at the same
level and that they are not
twisted. A twisted belt may
keep the harness from
working properly. Pull on
harness to make sure it
is secure.

6. Harness Adjustment
Loosen the harness
straps by lifting the
harness release lever on
the front of the seat while
pulling the straps out
at the shoulders as
shown Ê.

Tighten the harness straps
by pulling the adjustment
strap on the front of the
seat Ë.

Child Restraint, page 15.)
REMEMBER to check
the shoulder straps as
your child grows and move
them to the next position
when necessary. The
harness straps must go in
the slots even with or just
above the shoulders.

5.2 Securing Your Child in the Child Restraint
FAILURE TO PROPERLY SECURE YOUR CHILD IN
THE CHILD RESTRAINT INCREASES THE RISK OF
SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IN THE EVENT OF A
SHARP TURN, SUDDEN STOP OR CRASH.

In a crash, the child restraint provides NO protection
for your child unless the harness straps are properly
secured. Follow these instructions carefully to properly
secure your child.

• ADJUST THE HARNESS SYSTEM SNUGLY EVERY

TIME you place your child in the child restraint.

• Avoid bulky clothing.

1. Place child in child restraint
with child’s back flat against
back of child restraint.
2. Place harness straps
over child’s shoulders, insert
the two buckle tongues into
the harness buckle on the
crotch strap. Make sure that
you hear each tongue click
into the buckle.
DO NOT use the child restraint
if the buckle tongues do not
latch in place. Call Graco at 1-800-345-4109 Ì.
CHECK that straps are not twisted.
CHECK that harness is securely latched by pulling
up on straps.
DO NOT use child restraint if harness does not
latch.

6.0 Child Restraint Location
6.1 Vehicle Seat Requirements

IMPROPER PLACEMENT OF THE CHILD RESTRAINT
INCREASES THE RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH. Some seating positions in your vehicle may not
be safe for this child restraint. Some vehicles do not
have any seating positions that can be used safely with
the child restraint. If you are not sure where to place the
child restraint in your vehicle, consult your vehicle
owner’s manual or call Graco Children's Products Inc.,
1-800-345-4109.

• Children are safer when properly restrained

in rear vehicle seating positions. Whenever possible
secure the child restraint in
the center position of the
seat directly behind the
front seats.
• The vehicle seat must face forward.

6.2 Vehicle Seat Belt Requirements
MANY SEAT BELT SYSTEMS ARE NOT SAFE TO
USE WITH THE CHILD RESTRAINT. THE VEHICLE
SEAT BELT MUST BE DESIGNED TO HOLD THE
CHILD RESTRAINT TIGHTLY AT ALL TIMES.

Pay careful attention to these systems; some of the
seat belts that are not safe to use look very much
like seat belts that are safe to use. If you are unsure,
consult your vehicle owner’s manual or call Graco
Children's Products Inc., 1-800-345-4109.

6.2.1 UNSAFE Vehicle Belt Systems

DO NOT USE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING
SYSTEMS TO SECURE THE CHILD RESTRAINT.

LATCH can be used IN PLACE OF the following unsafe
belt systems if your vehicle is equipped with LATCH
anchor points. NEVER USE unsafe belt systems. Please
refer to the vehicle owners manual for LATCH locations.
• Lap Belts with Emergency

Locking Retractor (ELR)
This lap belt stays loose and
can move until it locks in a
crash or sudden stop.

• Combination Lap/Shoulder

Belt with Retractor
Each strap has a retractor at
one end and is attached to
the latch plate at the other
end.

• Passive Restraint -

Lap or Shoulder Belt
Mounted on Door

• Passive Restraint -

Lap Belt with Motorized
Shoulder Belt
DO NOT use vehicle belts
that are attached to the door
in any way or that move
along a track to automatically
surround the passenger when
the door is closed.

• Lap Belts Forward of Seat

6.2.2 SAFE Vehicle Belt Systems

THE FOLLOWING BELT SYSTEMS CAN BE USED
WITH YOUR CHILD RESTRAINT, IF the seat location
meets all other requirements of these instructions and
those in your vehicle owner's manual. LATCH can be
used in place of the following vehicle belt systems if your
vehicle is equipped with LATCH anchor points. Please
refer to vehicle owner’s manual for LATCH locations and
section “7.3 With LATCH” page 27-29 for installation
instructions.
• Lap Belts - Manually Adjusted

When buckled, the belt is tightened manually by pulling
on the excess belt.

• Lap Belts with Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR)

The automatic locking retractor will not permit the lap
belt to lengthen once it is buckled. Tighten the belt by
feeding the belt back into the retractor while pushing
down hard on the child restraint.

• Combination Lap/Shoulder Belt with Locking

Latch Plate
Once it is buckled, this type of belt has a latch plate
that will not allow the lap portion of the belt to loosen.
Belt is tightened by pulling hard on the shoulder
portion of the vehicle belt while pushing down on
the child restraint.

• Combination Lap/Shoulder Belt with Sliding

Latch Plate
This belt has a latchplate that slides freely along the
belt. Belt is tightened by pulling hard on the shoulder
portion of the vehicle belt while pushing down on the
child restraint.

7.0 Securing the Child
Restraint in Your Vehicle
FAILURE TO PROPERLY SECURE THE CHILD
RESTRAINT IN THE VEHICLE INCREASES THE
CHILD’S RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IN
THE EVENT OF A SHARP TURN, SUDDEN STOP OR
CRASH.
Carefully follow these instructions and those in your vehicle
owner’s manual to be sure your child restraint is properly
located, positioned, and held tightly at all times.

7.1 With a Vehicle Lap Only Belt

Before beginning, make sure that LATCH is stored. See
Section 8.1, Storing LATCH and Tether, page 32. If
your vehicle is equipped with tether anchor points,
remove the tether clip from the storage bar, otherwise
make sure that the tether is stored.
1. Place the child restraint
firmly against the back of a
forward-facing vehicle
seat.
2. NEVER place the vehicle
belt over the armrest of
the child restraint.
Recline the child restraint
and thread the vehicle belt
through the belt path.
3. Buckle the vehicle belt Ê.
The vehicle belt should not
be twisted or turned.

4. Tighten vehicle lap belt
Push down hard with your knee
or free hand in the middle of the
child restraint Ë. Then pull and
tighten the vehicle lap belt.

to tighten the belt for your
seat belt system, see

Requirements, pp. 18-21, or
your vehicle owner’s manual.
5. If you are using tether to hold seat
in place, secure it now. See Section
7.4 Using the Tether, page 30.
6. Safety Check for Secure
Installation
Perform this test every time you
drive with your child.
Holding the child restraint near
the vehicle belt path, TWIST AND
PULL the child restraint forward and to
both sides to make sure the
vehicle belt does not lengthen
or loosen and the child
restraint does not easily
move Ì. The child restraint
should not move side to side
or forward more than 1 inch
(2.5 cm).
If child restraint is loose or
not secure, repeat procedure
OR find another location for
the seat, see Section 6.0 Child
Restraint Location, pp. 17-21.

7.2 With a Vehicle Lap/Shoulder Belt

When using an approved combination lap/shoulder belt,
this child restraint is equipped with a lock-off that is
used to secure the shoulder portion of the belt so it will
not loosen or shift during use. You must use the
lock-off provided on the child restraint whenever you
are using a combination lap/shoulder belt to secure
your child restraint.

Before beginning, make sure that LATCH is stored. See
Section 8.1, Storing LATCH and Tether, page 32. If
your vehicle is equipped with tether anchor points,
remove the tether clip from the storage bar, otherwise
make sure that the tether is stored.
1. Place the child restraint
firmly against the back of
a forward-facing vehicle
seat.
2. NEVER place the vehicle
belt over the top of the
child restraint.
Recline the child restraint
and thread the vehicle belt
through the belt path.
3. Buckle the vehicle belt Ê.
The vehicle belt should not

5. While pulling the shoulder
portion of the lap/shoulder
belt, lay the shoulder belt
inside the opened lock-off
Ë and snap the lock-off
over the shoulder belt Ì.
Two lock-offs are provided
to allow for the seat to be
installed on the right or left
side of the vehicle seat.
Only use one lock-off at
a time. NEVER try to use
both lock-offs when
installing the child
restraint.
DO NOT try to close the
lock-off over anything but
the shoulder portion of the
vehicle lap/shoulder belt. If
any other part of the belt is
in the way then try another
seat location.

6. If you are using tether to
hold seat in place, secure
it now. See Section 7.4
Using the Tether, page 30.
When not using the tether,
hook it on the tether
storage bar on the back
of the seat.

7.3 With LATCH

Newer vehicles have one or more seating positions with
LATCH anchorage systems. If vehicle is equipped with
LATCH, the vehicle lower anchor points may be visible at
the vehicle seat crease. If not visible, they may be
marked with the symbol below Ë.

See your vehicle owner’s manual for exact locations,
anchor identification, and requirements for use with
a child restraint.

LATCH is defined as anchorages 280mm (11 inches)
between anchor points. Graco does not recommend
using the LATCH system in the center position if the
spacing is greater than 280 mm (11 inches) unless
recommended in your vehicle owner’s manual.

Check vehicle owner’s manual for vehicle top tether
anchor locations. They may be identified using one of the
anchor symbols as shown above Ì or Í. ONLY use
LATCH on a child restraint in a seating position
recommended by vehicle manufacturer.

7.4 Using the Tether

All LATCH seating positions have tether anchors. If you
want to use the tether, check your vehicle owner’s
manual for the location(s). If your vehicle is not equipped
with a tether anchor, it may be possible to install one.
Contact your vehicle dealership for the proper anchor
location and installation. You may purchase a tether
anchor parts kit by calling Graco Customer Service at
1-800-345-4109.

1. Airlines have some restrictions about the use of
child restraints.
2. Install your child restraint on an airplane in the
same way it is installed in an automobile with a lap
belt using recline position 2. (see Section 7.1, With a
Vehicle Lap Only Belt, pp. 22-23).
3. Check that the airplane seat belt holds the child
restraint securely in place at all times.

CONTINUOUS USE OF CHILD RESTRAINT
MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO VEHICLE SEAT. Use
a child restraint mat, towel or thin blanket to protect
upholstery.
METAL AND PLASTIC PARTS: clean with mild soap
and cool water. NO BLEACH OR DETERGENTS.
HARNESS STRAPS AND LATCH STRAPS may be
spot cleaned or replaced. DO NOT IMMERSE THE
STRAPS IN WATER. Doing so may weaken the
straps. NEVER iron the harness straps.
IF HARNESS STRAPS have cuts, fraying or become
badly twisted, you must replace the straps.
BUCKLE AND HARNESS ADJUSTER may be
cleaned with a damp cloth.
NEVER LUBRICATE THE BUCKLE. If buckle or
harness adjuster sticks or will not remain tight, check
for foreign objects such as food, dirt, etc. Remove
objects with tweezers and/or clean with a cotton swab.
If you cannot get the harness to remain tight with the
buckle securely locked, do not use this child restraint.

NEVER USE A SECOND-HAND CHILD RESTRAINT
or a child restraint whose history you do not know.
SEAT COVER may be cleaned with a damp sponge
using mild soap and cool water. If necessary, cover
may be removed for cleaning. DO NOT use child
restraint without seat pad.

To Wash Seat Pad

1. It is not necessary to remove the harness to remove
the seat pad. Simply unbuckle the harness clip and
buckle, open the seams near the harness slots on the
seat pad and gently lift the pad over the adjustment
button cover. Push the crotch strap through the slot.
Some models may have elastic straps that will need to
be removed before the seat pad can be lifted off the
seat.
DO NOT USE child restraint without the seat cover.
2. Machine wash cover in cold water on delicate cycle
and drip-dry. DO NOT USE BLEACH.
Reverse the process to reinstall the seat pad. MAKE
SURE that the harness is going through the seat pad
slots that line up with the slots in the seat back.

aumenta el riesgo de lesiones serias o la muerte en una
curva cerrada, parada repentina o accidente. La seguridad
de su niño depende de que usted instale y use este
sistema de seguridad para niños correctamente. Úselo
SOLAMENTE orientado hacia adelante.
A pesar de que el uso de este sistema de seguridad para
niños parezca fácil de descifrar, es muy importante LEER,
ENTENDER Y SEGUIR EL MANUAL DEL PROPIETARIO.
El manual deberá guardarse en la ranura debajo de la

3.2 Limitaciones de peso y altura

**Los vehículos ahora vienen equipados (o pueden estar
equipados) con puntos de sujeción del anclaje detrás de
algunos asientos. Un anclaje sujeta la parte superior del
sistema de seguridad para niños a la carrocería del
vehículo. Cuando se usa debidamente con el cinturón de
seguridad del vehículo o el LATCH, el anclaje ayuda a
reducir las lesiones en una parada repentina o accidente.

***Las Normas Federales de Seguridad para Vehículos
Automotor de Estados Unidos han determinado un nuevo
sistema de instalación de sistemas de seguridad para
niños en los vehículos. El sistema se denomina LATCH.
El LATCH debe usarse SOLAMENTE EN LUGAR del
cinturón del vehículo si el vehículo está equipado

5.0 Uso del arnés del sistema
de seguridad para niños
5.1 Colocación de las correas del arnés

NO AJUSTAR DEBIDAMENTE LAS CORREAS DEL
ARNÉS DEL NIÑO AUMENTA EL RIESGO DE
SUFRIR LESIONES SERIAS O LA MUERTE EN
CASO DE UNA CURVA CERRADA, PARADA
REPENTINA O ACCIDENTE. Ajuste apretadamente
los cinturones provistos con este sistema de seguridad
alrededor de su niño. Una correa tensa no deberá
estar floja. Se mantiene en una línea recta sin doblarse.
No aprieta la carne del niño ni empuja el cuerpo del
niño en una posición que no sea natural.

seguridad para niños NO ofrece protección a su
niño a menos que las correas del arnés estén
debidamente aseguradas. Cumpla estas instrucciones
detenidamente para asegurar debidamente a su niño.

• AJUSTE EL SISTEMA DEL ARNÉS

APRETADAMENTE CADA VEZ que coloca a su

• Evite usar ropas abultadas.

PARA NIÑOS. EL CINTURÓN DE SEGURIDAD DEL
VEHÍCULO DEBE HABER SIDO DISEÑADO PARA
RETENER AL SISTEMA DE SEGURIDAD PARA
NIÑOS DE MODO AJUSTADO EN TODO MOMENTO.

Preste mucha atención a estos sistemas ya que
muchos de los sistemas de cinturones de seguridad
que no son seguros se parecen mucho a los que no
presentan peligro. Si no está seguro, consulte su
manual del dueño del vehículo o llame a Graco al
1-800-345-4109.

6.2.1 Sistemas PELIGROSOS de cinturones
de vehículos

NO USE NINGUNO DE LOS SIGUIENTES SISTEMAS
PARA SUJETAR EL SISTEMA DE SEGURIDAD PARA
NIÑOS.

El LATCH puede usarse EN LUGAR de los siguientes
sistemas de cinturón peligrosos si su vehículo está
equipado con puntos de anclaje LATCH. NUNCA USE
sistemas de cinturones peligrosos. Por favor, consulte el
manual del propietario del vehículo para identificar las
ubicaciones donde debe instalarse el LATCH.

6.2.2 Sistemas SEGUROS de cinturones
de vehículos

LOS SIGUIENTES SISTEMAS DE CINTURONES
PUEDEN USARSE CON SU SISTEMA DE SEGURIDAD
PARA NIÑOS, SI la ubicación del asiento cumple todos
los otros requisitos de estas instrucciones y las del
manual del propietario del vehículo. El LATCH puede
usarse en lugar de los siguientes sistemas de seguridad
del vehículo si su vehículo está equipado con puntos de
anclaje LATCH. Por favor, consulte el manual del
propietario del vehículo para determinar las ubicaciones
del LATCH y la sección “7.3 LATCH” en las páginas 27
a 29 para obtener instrucciones sobre la instalación.
• Cinturones de la falda – ajustados manualmente

Cuando se activa la hebilla, el cinturón se ajusta

• Cinturones para la falda con retractor con traba

automática (Automatic Locking Retractor, ALR)
El retractor de seguridad automático no permitirá que
el cinturón de seguridad para la falda se extienda una
vez que esté en la hebilla. Ajuste el cinturón pasando
el cinturón por el retractor mientras empuja con fuerza
el sistema de seguridad para niños hacia abajo.

• Combinación cinturón para la falda y el hombro

con placa de cierre con traba
Una vez que esté trabado en la hebilla, este tipo de
cinturón tiene una placa de seguridad que no permitirá
que la parte del cinturón de seguridad para la falda se
afloje. El cinturón se ajusta tirando con fuerza de la
parte del hombro del cinturón del vehículo mientras
empuja con fuerza el sistema de seguridad para
niños hacia abajo.

• Combinación cinturón para la falda y el hombro

con placa de cierre deslizante
Este cinturón tiene una placa de seguridad que se
mueve libremente a lo largo del cinturón. El cinturón
se ajusta tirando con fuerza de la parte del hombro
del cinturón del vehículo mientras empuja con fuerza
el sistema de seguridad para niños hacia abajo.

7.0 Asegurar el sistema de
seguridad para niños en
su vehículo
NO AJUSTAR DEBIDAMENTE LAS CORREAS DEL
ARNÉS DEL NIÑO AUMENTA EL RIESGO DE SUFRIR
LESIONES SERIAS O LA MUERTE EN CASO DE
UNA CURVA CERRADA, PARADA REPENTINA O
ACCIDENTE. Cumpla detenidamente estas instrucciones y las del manual del propietario de su vehículo
para asegurarse que el sistema de seguridad para niños
esté debidamente ubicado, colocado y asegurado
apretadamente en todo momento.

7.1 Con un cinturón del vehículo para la
falda solamente

Antes de comenzar, asegúrese de que el LATCH esté
guardado. Vea la Sección 8.1, Guardar el LATCH y el
anclaje, página 32. Si su vehículo está equipado con
puntos de sujeción del anclaje, saque la traba del
anclaje de la barra de almacenamiento, caso contrario,
asegúrese de que el anclaje esté guardado.

7.2 Con un cinturón del vehículo para la

Cuando usa un cinturón combinado aprobado para
falda/hombro, este sistema de seguridad para niños
está equipado con una traba que se usa para asegurar
la parte del hombro del cinturón para que no se afloje
ni mueva durante el uso. Usted debe usar la traba
provista en el sistema de seguridad para niños cuando
usa un cinturón combinado para falda/hombro para
asegurar el sistema de seguridad para niños.
Antes de comenzar, asegúrese de que el LATCH esté
guardado. Vea la Sección 8.1, Guardar el LATCH y
el anclaje, página 32. Si su vehículo está equipado

7.3 Con LATCH

Los vehículos nuevos tienen uno o varios asientos
equipados con sistemas de anclaje LATCH. Si el
vehículo viene equipado con el sistema LATCH, se
pueden ver los puntos de anclaje inferiores en el pliegue
del asiento del vehículo. Si no están visibles, pueden
estar marcados con el símbolo que sigue Ë.

Vea el manual del propietario de su vehículo para
informarse sobre las ubicaciones exactas, la
identificación de los anclajes y los requisitos para
su uso con el sistema de seguridad para niños.

El LATCH se define como anclajes de 280 mm (11
pulgadas) entre los puntos de anclaje. Graco no
recomienda usar el sistema LATCH en la posición central
si el espacio es más de 280 mm (11 pulgadas) a menos
que se lo recomiende en su manual del dueño del vehículo.

7.4 Uso del anclaje

Todas las posiciones del asiento LATCH tienen puntos
de anclaje. Si desea usar el anclaje, consulte el manual
del propietario de su vehículo para determinar los

sujetador del anclaje, podría ser posible instalar uno.
Contacte al concesionario de su vehículo para

7.5 Uso de la reclinación

Puntos importantes que recordar

2. Instale su sistema de seguridad para niños en un
avión de la misma manera que lo instala en un

3. Verifique que el cinturón del asiento de la aeronave

8.3 Accesorios (en ciertos modelos)
Nunca ponga objetos filosos o con punta en el
apoyavasos. En un accidente, estos objetos podrían
golpear a su niño y causar serias heridas.

EL USO CONTINUO DEL SISTEMA DE SEGURIDAD
PARA NIÑOS PODRÍA CAUSAR DAÑOS AL
ASIENTO DEL VEHÍCULO. Use una estera, toalla
o frazada fina con el sistema de seguridad para
niños para proteger el tapizado.
PIEZAS DE METAL Y DE PLÁSTICO: limpiar con un
jabón suave y agua fresca. NO USE BLANQUEADOR
NI DETERGENTES.
LAS CORREAS DEL ARNÉS Y LAS CORREAS
DEL LATCH se pueden limpiar a mano o cambiarse.
NO SUMERJA LAS CORREAS EN AGUA. Hacerlo
podría debilitar las correas. NUNCA planche las
correas del arnés.
SI LAS CORREAS DEL ARNÉS tienen cortes, están
muy dobladas o deshilachadas, debe cambiarlas.
EL AJUSTADOR DE LA HEBILLA Y EL ARNÉS
pueden limpiarse con un trapo húmedo.
NUNCA LUBRIQUE LA HEBILLA. Si la hebilla o
el ajustador del arnés se pega o no se mantiene
apretado, verifique que no haya ningún objeto extraño
tal como comida, suciedad, etc. Saque los objetos con
pinzas y/o límpielas con una escobilla de algodón. Si
no puede lograr que el arnés se mantenga apretado
con la hebilla trabada con seguridad, no use este
sistema de seguridad para niños. Llame a Graco al
1-800-345-4109 para comprar un arnés o hebilla
de repuesto.
NUNCA USE UN SISTEMA DE SEGURIDAD PARA
NIÑOS USADO o un sistema de seguridad cuya
historia no conoce.
LA FUNDA DEL ASIENTO se puede limpiar con
una esponja húmeda usando un jabón suave y agua
fresca. De ser necesario, se puede sacar la funda
para limpiarla. NO use el sistema de seguridad para
niños sin la almohadilla del asiento.

Para lavar la almohadilla del asiento

1. No es necesario sacar el arnés para sacar la
almohadilla del asiento. Simplemente destrabe la
traba y hebilla del arnés, abra las costuras cerca de
las ranuras del arnés en la almohadilla del asiento
y levante suavemente la almohadilla sobre la tapa
del botón de ajuste. Pase la correa de la entrepierna
a través de la ranura. Algunos modelos podrían tener
correas elásticas que deben sacarse antes de que se
pueda levantar la almohadilla del asiento.
NO use el sistema de seguridad para niños sin la
funda del asiento.
2. Lave la funda a máquina en agua fría en el ciclo
delicado y séquela al aire. NO USE BLANQUEADOR.
Invierta el proceso para volver a instalar la almohadilla
del asiento. ASEGÚRESE de que el arnés pase a través
de las ranuras de la almohadilla del asiento que están en
línea con las ranuras en el respaldo del asiento.
