When working with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 there will come a time when you may need to include information from
another object type inside of a label. This can be achieved using a Reference Text component inside of a label.
In the following example, a lot line needs to include point number information to create a course label (see Figure
1).

To create this label we will use multiple components (see figure 2)

In this label, the FROM POINT and TO POINT components are reference text. To add reference text
components from the create text component drop down select Reference Text (see figure 3).

In this example, we are going to add a Cogo Point component for the FROM POINT and a Cogo Point
Component for the TO POINT (see figure 4).

When adding this label to an object you will be prompted to select the Cogo Point for the reference text
component. The name of the component in the label style is what will appear in the command line prompts (see
figure 5).
