Do not connect any voltage source to the audio connector. If you connect an external device or headset, other than those approved for use with this device, to the audio connector, pay special attention to volume levels.Parts of the device are magnetic. Metallic materials may be attracted to the device. Do not place credit cards or other magnetic stripe cards near the device for extended periods of time, since the cards may be damaged.Some of the accessories mentioned in this user guide, such as charger, headset, or data cable, may be sold separately. Note: You can set the phone to ask for a security code. Press the scroll key and select Settings. Scroll right to Privacy & Security, and select Screen Lock > Screen Lock > On, and create a four-digit code. Note, however, that you need to remember the code you created, as HMD Global is not able to open or bypass it.Insert the SIM, memory card and batteryTo use the phone, you need a micro-SIM card. If you have a dual-SIM phone, you need a micro-SIM card and a nano-SIM card.Use only original micro and nano-SIM cards. Use of incompatible SIM cards may damage the card or the device, and may corrupt data stored on the card.Use only compatible memory cards approved for use with this device. Incompatible cards may damage the card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card. Note: Switch the device off and disconnect the charger and any other device before removing any covers. Avoid touching electronic components while changing any covers. Do not connect incompatible products.KEEP YOUR DEVICE DRYYour device is not water-resistant. Keep it dry.GLASS PARTSThe device screen is made of glass. This glass can break if the device is dropped on a hard surface or receives a substantial impact. If the glass breaks, do not touch the glass parts of the device or attempt to remove the broken glass from the device. Stop using the device until the glass is replaced by qualified service personnel.PROTECT YOUR HEARINGTo prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods. Exercise caution when holding your device near your ear while the loudspeaker is in use.SARThis device meets RF exposure guidelines when used either in the normal use position against the ear or when positioned at least 10 mm away from the body. The specific maximum SAR values can be found in the Certification Information (SAR) section of this user guide. For more info, go to www.sar-tick.com. When a carry case, belt clip or other form of device holder is used for body-worn operation, it should not contain metal and should provide at least the above-stated separation distance from the body. Note that mobile devices may be transmitting even if you are not making a voice call.2.If the battery is in the phone, lift it out.3.Slide the micro-SIM in the SIM1 slot. If you have a memory card, slide it in the memory card slot.4.If you have a dual-SIM phone, slide the SIM2 holder to the right and open it up. Place the nano-SIM in the SIM2 slot face down, close down the holder and slide it to the left to lock it in place. Both SIM cards are available at the same time when the device is not being used, but while one SIM card is active, for example, making a call, the other may be unavailable.5.Put back the battery.6.Put back the cover. Note: On dual SIM capable devices, both SIM1 andSIM2 slots support 4G networks. However, if your SIM1 and SIM2 are both LTE SIM cards, the primary SIM supports 4G/3G/2G networks, while the secondary SIM can only support 3G/2G. For more information on your SIM cards, contact your service provider.Remove the memory cardOpen the back cover, remove the battery, and slide the card out.Important: Do not remove the memory card when an app is using it. Doing so may damage the memory card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.Remove SIM 1Open the back cover, remove the battery, and slide the SIM card out.Remove SIM 2Open the back cover, remove the battery, slide the SIM2 holder to the right and open it up. Remove the nano-SIM, close down the holder and slide it to the left to lock it in place.Switch your phone on or offPress and hold the power key.To switch your phone off, press and hold the power key until Power Off is shown. Then press the power key again.Charge the battery1.Plug the charger into the wall outlet.2.Connect the charger to the phone. When done, unplug the charger from the phone then from the wall outlet.If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before the charging indicator is displayed.Set which SIM card to usePress the scroll key and select Settings > SIM Manager.To choose which SIM to use for calls, select Outgoing Calls and the SIM you want to use.Make a call1.Type in the phone number.To type in the + character used for international calls, press and hold *.2.Press . If asked, select which SIM to use.3.To end the call, press  .Answer a callPress .Send and receive messages1.Press the scroll key to open the apps list.2.Select Messages > New Message.3.In the To field, type in a phone number or the name of a contact in your contacts list.4.Write your message.5.Select Send. If asked, select which SIM to use.You can send text messages that are longer than the character limit for a single message. Longer messages are sent as two or more messages. Your service provider may charge accordingly. Characters with accents, other marks, or some language options, take more space, and limit the number of characters that can be sent in a single message.Camera1.To switch the camera on, press the scroll key to open the apps list, and select Camera.2.To take a photo, press the scroll key.Keep a safe distance when using the flash. Do not use the flash on people or animals at close range. Do not cover the flash while taking a photo.Listen to radioTo listen to the radio, you need to connect a compatible headset to the phone. The headset acts as an antenna.Search for radio stations and listen to radioPress the scroll key to open the apps list and select FM Radio.To search for available stations, scroll left or right.To save a station, select Options > Add to favourites.To switch to a saved station, select it from the list.To change the volume, select Options > Volume, and scroll up or down.To turn off the radio, select Pause.Listen to musicYou can listen to your MP3 music files with the music player. To play music, you need to store the music files on a memory card or the phone memory.1.Press the scroll key to open the apps list and select Music.2.Scroll right to Songs to see all your saved music. To listen to a song, select it. You can also select music from Albums or Artists.After-sales supportIf you need assistance after purchasing your phone, or if you have queries on the warranty that applies to your phone, you may contact the distributor or the store where you bought your phone. Keep your receipt as proof of purchase for warranty purposes.Find your model number and serial number (IMEI)If you need to contact your care point or your service provider, you may need info such as the model number and the serial number (IMEI). You need a subscription with a service provider.Maximum transmit power Using some features and services, or downloading content, including free items, require a network connection. This may cause the transfer of large amounts of data, which may result in data costs. You may also need to subscribe to some features.Emergency calls Important: Connections in all conditions cannot be guaranteed. Never rely solely on any wireless phone for essential communications like medical emergencies.Before making the call:• Switch the phone on• If the phone keys are locked, unlock them.• Move to a place with adequate signal strength.1. Electrical and electronic products contain a lot of valuable materials, including metals (such as copper, aluminum, steel, and magnesium) and precious metals (such as gold, silver, and palladium). All materials of the device can be recovered as materials and energy. Crossed-out wheelie-bin symbolThe crossed-out wheelie-bin symbol on your product, battery, literature, or packaging reminds you that all electrical and electronic products and batteries must be taken to separate collection at the end of their working life. Do not dispose of these products as unsorted municipal waste: take them for recycling. For info on your nearest recycling point, check with your local waste authority.Battery and charger infoUse your device only with an original BV-6A rechargeable battery. Charge your device with AC-18 charger. Charger plug type may vary. HMD Global may make additional battery or charger models available for this device. Battery and charger safetyAlways switch the device off and unplug the charger before removing the battery. To unplug a charger or an accessory, hold and pull the plug, not the cord. When your charger is not in use, unplug it. If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge over time.Always keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F) for optimal performance. Extreme temperatures reduce the capacity and lifetime of the battery. A device with a hot or cold battery may not work temporarily.Accidental short-circuiting can happen when a metallic object touches the metal strips on the battery. When the Product is used in a way that is different from its ordinary use, such as:a) errors or damages caused by:i) exposure to moisture, to extreme electromagnetic field (such as damages caused by microwave oven), to dampness, to extreme thermal or environmental conditions or to rapid changes in such conditions, corrosion, oxidation, spillage of food or liquid, or to influence from chemical products, (ii) using your Product with, or connecting it to, any product, accessory, software, or service not manufactured or supplied by Manufacturer, (iii) any products combined with your Product by a third party, (iv) damage or errors caused by hacking, cracking, viruses, or other malware, or by unauthorized access to services, accounts, computer systems, or networks; or (v) other acts beyond Manufacturer’s reasonable control. b) If your Product's serial number, the mobile accessory date code, or the IMEI number has been removed, erased, defaced, altered or if these are illegible in any way.B. Not using your Product in accordance with the user guide.C. If your Product, has been (i) opened, repaired or modified by non-authorized third parties, or (ii) repaired with unauthorized spare parts. D. If you have not installed the latest software updates that are publicly available for your Product within a reasonable time of their release. You won’t be able to enforce this Warranty if you refuse to give possession of the Product to Manufacturer for analysis and investigation.This Warranty is not valid Outside of the Covered Country and doesn’t cover:1. User guides; 2. Any (i) third party software, settings, content, data, or links installed or downloaded onto your Product at any time, or (ii) Manufacturer and third-party services or enabling clients even if preinstalled by Manufacturer (please read the terms and conditions that may accompany the services as those will define your rights and obligations); 3. Any (i) normal wear and tear, (ii) reduced charging capacity of the battery resulting from its natural end of Product life, or (iii) pixel defects in your Product’s display that are within the scope of industry standards; and4. SIM card and/or any cellular or other networks or system on which your Product operates. If this Warranty does not cover your Product or the issue based on which it requires service, Manufacturer reserves the right to charge for the repair or replacement of your Product, as well as a handling fee.4. Limitation of Manufacturer’s liabilityTo the extent permitted by applicable law(s), Manufacturer shall not under any circumstances be liable, either expressly or implicitly, for any:1.Damages or losses of any kind whatsoever resulting from or relating to loss of, damage to, or corruption of, content or data or the re-creation or transfer thereof even if such loss, damage, or cor ruption was a r esult  of (i) a Defect  in you r Prod uct or  (ii) an a ttemp t to repair your Product; and/or2.Loss of profit, productivity, functionality, business, contracts, revenues or anticipated savings, increased costs or expenses, or for any indirect, consequential or special loss or damage.To the extent permitted by applicable law, Manufacturer’s liability shall be limited to the purchase value of your Product.The limitations in this clause 4 shall not apply in case of Manufacturer’s negligence or intentional misconduct or in case of death or personal injury resulting from Manufacturer’s proven negligence.5.
