ad lib the trivia contest. Still a
great time & we did have an official meeting
with an election for trustees. The caterer provided an excellent meal with fantastic appetizers along with fruit & veggie tray. I just
wanted to thank all the candidates who ran
for election to the board at this meeting & the
trustees who agreed to run for office and were
voted on at our first meeting in January. See
the results in this newsletter. Please read the
newsletter for important information about
club policy & upcoming events. Don’t forget
about the website as well because we will update it regularly. You may see a few changes
in this newsletter because we have a new editor & publisher. She is ZYC member Beth
Bronkar. Thank you Beth for helping out &
giving me a break.

PLEASE let me know if there is someone we need to
thank. I know there are others out there just let me

WHAT’S NEW & COMING SOON:
Suggestion Box Update: The only suggestion we
have had since last was to have “Boot Brushes” outside
the doors of the clubhouse. We at first thought this was a
good suggestion & not a bad idea. However, after some
discussion we decided not to purchase them. We thought it
would be more of a mess with these outside than it was
worth. We also hope that if a member has muddy boots
that they have the courtesy to take them off before they
enter the clubhouse room and track in mud. As
always
if anyone has any suggestions but wants to remain anonymous please put a comment in the suggestion box. We
do read all of them & appreciate the comments.

Web Site: This is a great way to stay informed. If you
can’t find your newsletter or forget a date of meeting, just
check the website for all of this information. If there is
something you want me to add, let me know & I’ll put on
there. We are still looking for some advertisers to sponsor
this website. We need at least six to help offset the costs a
bit but definitely will accept more. These ads will get
mentioned in newsletter as well.

JANUARY 24, 2012 TRUSTEES MEETING
COMMITTEE CHAIRS & REPORTS
Finance Committee: Maggie Collins reported to the board our account balance, noted that all bills are paid & that the club is in
great financial shape for the new year. If any members want to know more details of the accounting of the club please attend the
Installation Banquet where we will give a complete report of our club’s standing. Also if anyone is interested in helping Maggie with
the finance committee please contact us and let us know. I am sure Maggie can use some help from time to time.
FUND RAISING: Jeff Miller reported that our first fund raiser of the year will be the Super Bowl Football Chart so please buy a
square and help the club out and take a chance on winning some big money! Our next big fund raiser we will have will be the 2nd
annual Salty Dog Golf outing at the Clubhouse. We will have a combined Chicken Roast and Golf Outing on July 7th. This will be
the Saturday after July 4th . We will extend the course to18 holes of golf this year and the dinner will be the Chicken Roast we usually have on the 4th of July. Since the 4th occurs on a Wednesday this year we thought it would workout better to have the Golf Outing
and the Chicken Roast the Saturday after the 4th. Anyone who wants to serve on this committee or has any ideas of a fund raising event or function please let Jeff know.
GROUNDS: Mike Fisher reported that we will need to put a new roof on the well pump station. We also will be putting up a fence
in the front part of our property close to Linden to prevent people from driving on our property out front and leaving large rutts in
the yard. It will be much like the one at the left of the driveway coming in to the clubhouse. The club did purchase a large used
storage shed much like the one we have but twice the size to be used for storage of items that we did not feel would be protected if
they were placed in the old shed. The new one will have electric and work benches inside. Decorations and other building supplies
currently in the clubhouse showers can be stored in this shed. The lawn mower and other outside tools will be stored in the old shed.
If anyone has any ideas on ways to improve our grounds or wants to serve on this committee please contact Mike.
BUILDING: Dave Page reported that all the light ballasts in the clubhouse have been repaired and all else seems well. Coat racks
or hooks will be installed in the hallway going to bathrooms. Also a new cork board may be put up for members use. The other cork
board is to be used for club announcements and not for personal use by members. This new cork board can be used by members and
the other will be controlled by the board. It should go without saying but …”keep it clean” when posting something on the new
board.
Clubhouse Rentals are available to members at the same price as last year at $200.00. General Public can rent for $400 with a $100
deposit. We are allowing members to have first dibs on dates for the first three months on the year. After March we will open it up to
general public. Members can always book a date when ever but if you know you want a date later in the year put your date down
now so it is not reserved by someone else. As promised before, the trustees will not over book the clubhouse and we will keep dates
open for our members during holiday weekends and special events.
If anyone would like to assist Dave with building duties and lend a hand please contact him.
DOCKS : Jay Fisher and committee will be updating the electric service on the docks with new “quick connects” electrical wiring.
This will most likely be a three-year project due to the expense but hope to have a few new connects each year and all to be done
within three years. The Dock Assignments are being put together at this time so if you are considering dockage please see Jay so he
can put you on the list. We have Dock Rules, Regulations and a Dock Lease Agreement that must be filled out if you dock.
PUBLIC RELATIONS: Jeff Hardwick is in the process of putting together a promotional brochure to be used for membership
recruitment. We will have over 1000 printed and sent out to Chamber of Commerce members in a direct mailer. If anyone would
need some brochures to help promote the club and get some new members signed up just let Jeff know. We will have extras. The
Web site is constantly updated and we are also very involved with the new “MRAC” Muskingum River Advisory Council. This
council tries to involve representatives from all areas of the River from Coshocton to Marietta to use our resources and ideas for
River Improvements. We also will be involved in the River Clean Up day that several organizations come together to help clean up
the river and its banks. If anyone has any ideas about PR, Website or anything that will help to promote the club please give
Jeff a call. He can use all the help he can get.
ZYC INVESTMENT GROUP: As you all should know by now that by purchasing 52% of the land that surrounds the Yacht Club
we also have become an integral part of the Zanesville Investment Group. Not a lot to report on at this time other than that we will
renew the Farm Lease of our land to Bell Farms this year so it will be business as usual. It was corn last year so I am thinking it will
be soy bean this year. Tom Colopy is President, Jim Crowley is Treasurer with Becky Mitzel serving as Secretary. The entire board
of trustees serve on this committee and make decisions as a whole group along with the rest of the Investors.
