Verify that installation surface has no hidden utility lines before drilling or driving screws. 2. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles during installation. 3. Mount securely before use. 4. Install only according to these instructions. Improper installation can create hazards. 6. Keep bystanders out of the area during installation. 7. Do not install when tired or when under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication. 8. At least two people are needed to move this product. 9. Place the Safe on correct surface. Only use this Safe on a stable, level, clean and dry surface that is capable of sustaining the load. 5. Keep installation area clean and well lit. Use Precautions 1. Keep closed and locked whenever unattended. RISK OF CHILD ENTRAPMENT AND SUFFOCATION. Check inside before closing. Do not allow children to play with or near safe. Keep keys and codes away from children. 2. Keep clear of door when closing. 3. Position batteries in proper polarity and do not install batteries of different types, charge levels, or capacities together. 4. Use as intended only. 5. Inspect before every use; do not use if parts are loose or damaged. 6. Maintain product labels and nameplates. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement. Page 2 7. Do not store Keys inside of the Safe. Place the emergency keys in a location outside of the safe making sure they are in a secure location that you can find. 8. Warning: The brass components of this product contain lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects (or other reproductive harm). (California Health & Safety code § 25249.5, et seq.) 9. The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator. 10. The Safe is not fireproof. Item 93575 Installation 1. Choose where you want to mount the Safe. The supplied mounting Bolts are for mounting in concrete. To mount to another surface, use appropriate 3/8" bolts (not included). 4. Open the Safe by using the included key. Install 4 “AA” batteries aligned with the markings in the battery compartment. Set up a PIN code, as explained below. 2. If you are mounting on a shelf, make sure the shelf is weight rated to safely support the Safe and its contents. 5. Situate the Safe where you want it and draw marks through the four mounting holes onto the mounting surface(s). Some mounting configurations may use only two holes on the Safe - for better security, use all four. 3. If you are mounting on a wall or floor, make sure no wires, pipes, or cables are hidden behind the drill path for mounting the screws. 6. Move the Safe and predrill the holes for the 3/8" Bolts. Fit the Safe over the drilled mounting holes and secure it with the Bolts. Operation Programming your personal PIN 1. Open the Safe, as explained above. Make sure the batteries are properly installed. 2. Press the Red Button on the inside of the door near the hinges. The unit will beep twice and the yellow light will illuminate. See Figure A. 3. You only have thirty seconds to enter your PIN. Select your 3 to 8 digit PIN and input it on the Keypad. A beep will sound for each key pressed. 4. Press the letter “B” to confirm your PIN. After you press “B”, the unit will beep twice to confirm you’ve successfully inputted your PIN. Red Button Figure A General Operation 1. To open the Safe, input your PIN, press the letter “B”, and turn the Knob clockwise. 2. The unit will beep twice and the green light will illuminate, indicating that the Safe is now open. 3. After entering your PIN, you have 5 seconds to turn the Knob and open the Safe. After 5 seconds, the mechanism re-locks. 4. If the mechanism re-locks, repeat Step 1. If incorrect numbers are entered and the letter “B” is entered three times, the Safe will lock up for 20 seconds. Using the Override Key If you forget or lose your PIN, you can gain access to the Safe by using your Override Key. The Key fits in the keyhole shown in Figure B. 1. Remove the small panel covering the keyhole. 2. Insert your Key and turn it counterclockwise to open the Safe. Wipe the unit clean with a lint free cloth. 2. Red and green lights will illuminate on the control panel when the batteries are low. To replace the batteries, open the Safe and remove the Battery Cover inside the door. 3. Remove used batteries. Dispose of them properly or recycle them. 4. Insert 3 new “AA” batteries. Position batteries in proper polarity and do not install batteries of different types, charge levels, or capacities together. Replace the Battery Cover. To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise. If our inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. We will return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.
