ITEM 41147 12” 41148 18” 41149 24” 41150 36” 41151 42” Bolt CutterS JAW GAP ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS Bolt cutter jaws are set at the factory. However, it is a good practice to “fine tune” them prior to each use. 1. The two screws on the side of one of the handles perform the following: • Hex head screw located on the jaws end of the adjustment link sets the jaws gap at their tip end. • Hex screw with washer at the handle end of the adjustment link sets the jaws gap at the joint end. Note 1: Before each adjustment, open the jaws slightly. When closing the jaws, make sure that the jaw heels do not press against one another. 2. Correctly set jaws will have a uniform gap along the length of their edges. To verify the gap, place a sheet of paper between the jaws and fully close them. They should hold the paper in place. Note 2: Do not turn the screws more than 1/6th of a turn (one flat of the hex) at a time. WARNING 1. 2. 3. 4. To prevent serious injury: Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles during use. Never use on live electrical circuits. Keep fingers clear of sharp blades. Keep out of children’s reach.
