Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: When using product, basic safety precautions should

Read all instructions before using this product!
1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
2. Keep children away. Children must never be allowed in the work area. Do not let them handle
machines, tools, or extension cords.
3. Store idle equipment. When not in use, products must be stored in a dry location. Always lock up the
Airplane and keep out of reach of children.
4. Do not force product. It will do the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was intended. Do
not use inappropriate attachments in an attempt to exceed the tool capacity.
5. Use the right product for the job. Do not attempt to force a small product or attachment to do the work
of a larger industrial product. There are certain applications for which this product was designed. Do not
modify this product and do not use this product for a purpose for which it was not intended.
6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they can be caught in moving parts. Wear
restrictive hair covering to contain long hair.
7. Check for damaged parts. Before using, any part that appears damaged should be carefully
checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for alignment
and binding of moving parts; any broken parts or mounting fixtures; and any other condition that may
affect proper operation. Any part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by a qualified
technician.
8. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of
any other parts will void the warranty. Approved accessories are available from Harbor Freight Tools.

9. Do not use this product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on
prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any
doubt, do not operate the product.
10. Use eye protection. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles.

Assembly
Your Magnetic Base will require some assembly as described in the following steps. To assist you with as-
sembly and operation please refer to the Parts List located on the last page of this manual.
Step 1) Thread the Upright Post with Lock Nut (#2) onto the Base (#1).
Step 2) The Upright Post Swivel (#3) should be slid into place on the Upright Post with Lock Nut
(#2). Turn the Upright Post Swivel clockwise to secure it in place. Insert the Snug Gauge
Rod (#4) through the Upright Post Swivel (#3).
Step 3) Slide the Indicator Clamp (#5) onto the Snug Gauge Rod (#4).
Operation
Settings and Adjustments
When making adjustments, make certain that all thumbscrews are fully tightened and Swivels are secure
when adjustments are complete.
The Magnetic Base can be attached to flat or round surfaces. For use on a Q.A. table, it can reach out 12”. It
can be set to many different positions.
Step 1) Set the Base (#1) in the desired position. Turn the Dial counterclockwise to “ON” to engage
the Magnet.
Step 2) Loosen the thumbscrew on the Upright Post Swivel (#3) and move the Upright Post Swivel
(#3) and the Snug Gauge Rod (#4) to the desired location.
Step 3) Position the Indicator Clamp (#5) as desired.
Step 4) Turn the Fine Adjustment (#6) knob to fine tune the position of the Snug Gauge Rod (#4).

Note: Part# 7 (5/16” Adjustment Bushing) fits into part# 5. It will allows you to clamp 5/16” stem dial
indicators. Without the bushing it will clamp 3/8” stem dial indicators. The bushing is held in place with a
small hex stud.
