-2-2. Set the doorbell button jumpers to matchthe chime receiver channel. This buttonworks with channel U, V or W or jumper anddip switch receivers. The doorbell button isready to use for channel "U".1. Open the transmitter button case. Insert aflat blade screw driver into notch on bottom,push in on the tab, and twist the screwdriver.Heath/Zenith reserves the right to discontinue andto change specifications at any time without noticewithout incurring any obligation to incorporate newfeatures in previously sold products.
-3-Set the jumpers 1 thru 7 to match the chimereceiver.  For receivers with switches:  jumper onfor switch up, jumper off for switch down. Mount the Button.Snap the front of button back onto the case.The button can bemounted by using the 2holes in the back of thecase, or double sidedtape can be used.If the chime doesn't sound when you press thedoorbell button, see page 6 for troubleshooting.3. Before mounting, test the doorbell rangeby holding the button where you want tomount it and pressing the doorbell button.
-5-Battery ReplacementRemove back cover and oldbattery.  Replace with an alkalinetype A23 12 V battery. The positiveterminal should be at the top ofthe case.Regulatory InformationThe user is cautioned that changes or modifica-tions not expressly approved by the partyresponsible for regulatory compliance could voidthe user's authority to operate the equipment.This device complies with RSS-210 of IndustryCanada. Operation is subject to the following twoconditions: (1) this device may not cause harmfulinterference, and (2) this device must accept anyinterference received, including interference thatmay cause undesired operation.
-6-Chime doesn't sound:• Make sure the doorbell button and the chime channelsare the same (See page 3).• Check orientation of  doorbell button battery.• Check the doorbell button and chime batteries, replaceif necessary.Batteries are OK, but the chime doesn't work:• Don't mount the chime or doorbell button on metal or nearmetal studs. This reduces the transmitter range. Use 1/4"to 1/2" wood shims to move the chime or doorbell button offthe metal surface.• Don't mount the chime too close to ground level concreteslabs. This may also reduce the range. Mount the chimeaway from the floor.• Try different locations for the chime closer to the doorbellbutton. Also try to orient the chime at a different angle toincrease the range.The range of the doorbell depends on location, tempera-ture and battery condition.If you are having problems with this product, pleasetry the solutions listed below.  If you continue to haveproblems, consult your warranty.Troubleshooting
-7-YOUR HEATH/ZENITH FIVE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTYThis is a "Limited Warranty" which gives you specific legal rights. Youmay also have other rights which vary from state to state or province toprovince.For a period of five years from the date of purchase, any malfunctioncaused by factory defective parts or workmanship will be corrected at nocharge to you. Batteries are not covered. To  obtain a refund or areplacement, return the product to the place of purchase.Not Covered - Repair service, adjustment and calibration due tomisuse, abuse or negligence, light bulbs and other expendable itemsare not covered by this warranty. Unauthorized service or modificationof the product or of any furnished component will void this warranty inits entirety. This warranty does not include reimbursement for incon-venience, installation, setup time, loss of use, or unauthorized ser-vice.This warranty covers only Heath/Zenith assembled products and isnot extended to other equipment and components that a customeruses in conjunction with our products.This warranty is expressly in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied,including any warranty, representation or condition of merchant ability orthat the products are fit for any particular purpose or use, and specificallyin lieu of all special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.Repair or replacement shall be the sole remedy of the customer and thereshall be no liability on the part of heath for any special, indirect, incidental,or consequential damages, including but not limited to any loss of businessor profits, whether or not foreseeable. Some states or provinces do notallow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, sothe above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.  Retain receipt forwarranty claims.
