EG59 USER MANUAL
Main Features:
You can do much more with phone then make and receive
a call.
Bluetooth Wireless
Your phone supports Bluetooth wireless connection. You
connect your phone with an optional Bluetooth headset or
Bluetooth car kit to make hands free calls, or with a set of
Bluetooth stereo headphones to listen to music stored on
your phone.
Music player
You can manually load music files by attaching your phone
to the computer as a removable storage device. Use an
optional set of Bluetooth stereo headphones to listen to
music stored on your phone. Use an optional removable
TF memory card with your phone to store even more
songs.
Photos
Your phone is designed to be used in a camera mode. Just
aim and shoot to take a photo, you can send to your
friends.
Videos
Your phone can record videos in multimedia.
Alarm
Your phone’s alarm can work when the phone is powered
on or off, which helps you not to miss every important
moment of your life.
Large Capacity Phonebook
Up to 500 records can be stored in your phone’s
phonebook. Each record can have name, mobile number,
home number, office number and other contents.
Safety information
For safety, use only an adapter approved by Hisense.
Hisense does not bear responsibility for any faults that may
arise due to non-conformation to this guide. Example:
 Do not, in any way, cause a short-circuit. It may start a
fire or the phone may explode causing injury.
 Do not create a sudden impact on the battery by
throwing it.
 Do not dispose off batteries by putting them in a fire.
They may explode or catch fire due to the electrolyte
within.
Caution
Do not use the phone with a car battery.
Avoid using the phone in high temperature or humidity.
Avoid spilling any liquid on this phone. If the phone
gets wet, Switch off phone and turn off AC power
supply.
Keep the phone dry. Submersion, humidity, and liquids
contain minerals that may corrode internal electronic
circuits.
Do not store or use the phone in dusty or dirty areas
as this can damage the moving parts.
Do not store the phone in hot/ cold areas.
Do not attempt to open it. Non-expert handling of the
phone could damage it. Consult your authorized
Hisense dealer for assistance.
Do not drop, knock or shake the phone. Rough
handling may break the internal circuit boards.
Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or
strong detergents to clean the phone. Wipe it with a
soft cloth that has been slightly dampened in a mild
soap and water solution.

Do not paint the phone. Paint can clog the phone’s
moving parts and prevent proper functioning.
During lightning, do not touch the power plug or the
phone line. It may result in an electric shock or death.
Do not install the phone under direct sunlight or on an
uneven surface.
Before using the plug, check the available power
voltage. Inaccurate power voltage may cause fire and
damage.

Main LCD
Icon area
Display the current CDMA network signal
strength. The more bars show, the stronger the
signal is. When there is no network signal
available, it displays ×.
Display the current GSM network signal
strength. The more bars show, the stronger the
signal is. When there is no network signal
available, it displays×.
Indicate that is on the phone.
Indicate that is in roaming state.
Indicate that there are new message.
Indicate that that the phone is in silence mode.
Indicate that that the phone is in outdoor mode.
Indicate that that the phone is in meeting mode.
Indicate that that the phone is in standard
mode.
Indicate that that the phone is In-car mode.

2. Date and time
You can set to Display the time and date.
Installing the Battery
Align the golden connectors on the battery with the
corresponding connector on the phone and push the
opposite end of the battery until it snaps into the place.
Note:
Your phone is designed to be used only with Original
batteries and chargers. Use of other batteries or charger
may cause damage to your phone and the warranty will be
void.
Removing the Battery
Make sure your phone is powered off or you will loose any
unsaved information.
Button up the middle of the bottom battery and pull it out.
Inserting card
Before installing the card, always make sure the phone is
switched off and then remove the battery.
Your phone must work with an active card provided by your
service provider.
1. Slide the SIM card carefully into the SIM card slot.
2. Make sure that the golden connectors on the card are
facing downwards and the beveled corner is on the right.
Insert the battery and casing.(make sure the UIM card on
the bottom)
Note:
If no card is inserted or your card is damaged, then your
phone’s LCD will display “Insert card” when it’s powered
on.
If your card is PIN-locked, your phone will display “unlock
PIN”. You must enter PIN before the phone can start
operations. Please contact your network service provider.
When inserting card, please keep it away from possible
damage caused by static, scratch or bend, and put it where
is not available for children.
Charging the Battery
New batteries are shipped partially charged. Before you
can use your phone, you need to charge the battery, as
indicated by the following instructions. Some batteries
perform best after several full charge/discharge cycles.
Plug the travel charger into your phone’s connector port
with the arrow facing up.
Plug the other end of the travel charger into the appropriate
electrical outlet (100~230VAC).
When your phone indicates that the battery is fully charged,
press the release tab and remove the travel charger.
Note:
Before charge, make sure the battery is installed in the
phone.
The battery can discharge gradually even when your
phone is powered off. If the battery is drained for a long
time, the information stored in the phone could possibly be
lost.
If this makes no effect, stop charge and send the charger
for repair.
If the battery’s charge is extremely low, the LCD may not
light even when charge has begun. After a period of charge
then the LCD can light.
Battery Level Indicator
Your Phone is equipped with a Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery
which can be recharged before completely drained.
Battery Level Indicator changes according to the battery’s
charge volume as below:
Full charge
Partial charge
Low charge
Extremely low charge
If the charge continues to get low, the Indicator begins
flashing. When the charge becomes drained, your phone
gives an alert and the message of “Low battery” is
displayed on the screen. Several minutes later your phone
will alert again and then turn off automatically.
Battery performance
Local network conditions, phone’s settings, game and
music playing, data services and frequent operations can
affect battery’s standby time.
The battery performance is also affected by charge state,
temperature.

Basic functions
Turning Your Phone On and Off

Press and hold Power (RED Phone icon) key for
more than 2 seconds to turn on your phone.
If “Pin Code Check” is set on, the phone will prompt
you to enter the PIN number. If only you input proper
PIN number, the phone can enter idle display.
Press and hold Power Key for more than 2 seconds
to turn off your phone.
Making a Call
Your phone offers a variety of ways to make a call,
including Speed Dialing and dial from Call Logs and
phonebook.
Making a Call using the Keypad
To make a call using the keypad from idle display:
Press Numeric keys to dial the phone number.
If you make a mistake, press Clear key to delete last digit.
Press and hold Clear key to delete all numbers.
If you want to dial extension number at one time, long
press Right Soft key to input “P” and follow with extension
number.
You can dial up to 40 digits at one time.
Press Send key to make the call.
For the extension number, you need to press Send key
again.
To end the call, press Power key or Left soft key.
If the phone have two nets working, press G send key
using GSM net, press C send key using CDMA network.
Notice:
When you enter the numbers, holding 0 can enter “+”.
Making a Call Using Phonebook
To dial directly from a Phonebook record from idle display:
Press Right Soft Key to enter phonebook menu, press up
and down key to search your contacts.
Select a phone number and press Send key to dial it.
If one record has more than one phone number stored and
you dial it directly, the first number is selected and dialed
out.
To end the call, press or End/Power key.
Making a Call with a Speed Dial
After setting your Speed Dial numbers, press and hold the
following keypad (Numeric) to dial automatically using your
network.
Answering a Call
When you receive a call, your phone rings and/or vibrates
and displays an incoming call message. At the same time it
displays the using net service.
Press Talk key to answer the call.
Press Power key (RED Phone Icon) to reject the incoming
call.
Note:
When you are talking with the phone and another phone is
calling, you can choose to receive or reject it. Talk key to
receive the call or Power key to reject the call.
Read a Message
When a new message is received, your phone will alert
according to your settings and the message unread icon
will be displayed. Press Left Soft key to read it.
Recent Calls
■ Dialed Calls
Press CDMA Send key to view dialed calls list from idle
display. Select the record you want with Up/Down keys and
press Send key to dial it, or press OK key to view its detail.
■ Received Calls
Press Down key to view the received calls list from idle
display. Press UP key to view the missed calls list from idle
display. Press left/right key, you can view CDMA received,
GSM received and all received. Select the record you want
with Up/Down keys and press Send key to dial it, or press
OK key to view its detail.
When viewing list of incoming/received/missed calls, press
Right Soft key to pop up the submenu. You can do with it.
Entering Text
Multiple methods are provided making it easy for you to
enter names, numbers, and messages on your phone.

Let the phone predict each
word as you enter it. Enter
English words.
Input polish.

Enter letters.

Enter numbers only.
Whenever in a text-entry screen, press # key to selecting
input method.
Press 1 key to enter punctuations and symbols in any
text-entry method except number method. Use Up/Down
key to scroll to other page, use Left/Right key to scroll in
one line.
Press a number key one or more times to select a letter,
number, or symbol showing.
Using English or polish Entry Method
Predictive Text Entry lets you enter a word using one
keypad per letter. This software analyzes the combination
of letters you have entered using an intuitive word database,
and creates a suitable word automatically.
Alternative words and letter combinations are shown at the
bottom of the display. The word choices are updated with
each keypad. Press Up/Down key for other choices.
Press Left/Right key to highlight the word you want.

Press * key to change the words to initial character
capitalized, all capital characters, or all lowercase
characters.
Press OK key to enter the word at the cursor location. A
space is automatically inserted after the word.
Note:
The database of the predictive input software contains
20,000 most frequently used words. If the word you desired
is not in the word choices, you can enter it by Tap Method.
Enter letters
Press the keyboard to enter the letters one by one. You can
press one key many times to choose the right letter,
number or symbol.
Entering Numbers
Press corresponding numeric key to enter the desired
number.
Text Entry Submenu
When entering texts, press Right Soft Key to display
submenu.
Eg: press “3” to enter paste mode. Use Left/Right Direction
Keys to move to the position you want to paste the copied
texts and press OK to paste them.
Note:
Press the number key to select the corresponding function
in the submenu directly. E.g.: if the submenu has pop up,
press “7” to select an expression.

Fun
Music player
You can play the files saved in phone or TF card.
You can connect your phone to a computer and manually
copy or sync music files from the computer to phone
memory or to an optional TF memory card in the phone.
Attach the USB cable to the USB port on your phone and to
an available USB port on your computer.
All songs: view all songs list.
Playlists: view different list as: recently played, most
played or recently added.
Artists: view different artists’ songs.
Albums: view different albums list.
Genres: view different genres list.
Press left soft key, you can do:
1. Play: play the current song.
2. Refresh library: refresh the phone’s library.
3. Music library details: view the library details.
Video player
Play the files saved on the phone.
Press left soft key to select file, press the side key to
modulate volume.
Camera
Take photos
Select it to preview and press the left soft key to view the

function menu on both sides to make different settings:

Recorder
Press the OK key to begin the record, then press OK key to
stop the record, then the phone save the file automatically.
Press left soft key to view the option:
1. Play back: play the just record.
2. Record list: view the saved record list.

Games
There are 3 games in the phone, you can view the help to
play.

Phbook
Search
From Idle screen, press left soft key to view Main menu,
select Phonebook and press OK to view Phonebook
menu.
Press the left/right key search the entries by the name,
position or group.
Cap the edit casing, input the name, position or group.
Press up or down key to select the right record, enter
corresponding list.
Add
You can select add to card 1, card 2 or phone.
Let you add records to your phonebook. Select Name and
press OK key to input the name for your record.
When stored to phone, one record can have up to four
numbers: mobile number, home number, office number
and Fax phone. Every number being able to have up to 32
digits each. If you don’t want to take use of one/two of them,
just press direction key to skip. You can fill in Email-1,
Email-2, Additional name, Address, Corporation, title,
birthday, remark for the new addition.
When inputting phone numbers, you can input P (pause)
with Right Soft key.
e.g.:123456P213
e.g.: 123456P213
After finishing input of numbers, you can group your record
under up to 21 categories.

Then you can select one ringtone for this record.
Group settings
There are 99 groups on the phone.
Select one of them, you can set the call rington, SMS
rington or edit the group name.
Press OK key to save the setting.
Speed dial
Press number key to enter the number. Press the left soft
key to view the option menu.
If set the speed dial, hold the key can call out the number
direction.
Own number
View and edit the card number.
Press left soft key to save the set.
Memory status
View the record saved on the phone or card.
Phone management
You should input the password, the default number is 0000.
You can select copy entry from phone to card or the
opposite.
Delete the entry by phone, card or selected.

Brew
View the brew files.
Audio
View the record and voice list.
Other
View the vCalendar and vCard list.
Picture
View the photo list.
Video
View the video list.
Click the phone and TF card icon to view the list.
Click the function icon, you can do:
1. Create folder: create a new folder.
2. Delete: delete the file.
3. Sort: according by name\ date\ size to sort.
4. Properties: view the folder’s properties.

Calls
You can view the list about the recent calls, missed calls,
received calls, outgoing calls, rejected calls and call time.
When view the call list, press the left soft key to view the
option menu:
1. Send: send message to the number.
2. Delete: delete the current number or all number.
3. Save: save the number to the content.
4. Call: call the number.
5. IP call: select the set IP number and call out.
6. Edit before calling: edit the number and call out.
7. Add as speed dial: set the number as speed number.
8. Add as blacklist: set the number as black number.
Select the call time, you can view the dialed timer or
received timer. Press the left soft key to reset to 0.

Messages
Create SMS
Cap to enter the edit a new message.
You can input the content with the keypad.
Press left soft key to view the “option”, you can do:
1. Save: save the message to the draft box.
2. Select text: select the text to view.
3.
4. Copy: copy some words to other place.
5. Paste: insert some paste or expressions.
6. Cut: cut some words to other place.
7. Delete: delete the selecting text.
8. Insert template: insert different template.
9. Insert number: select one number and insert to the
message.
End the message, press OK key to input the number and
send the message.
Note:
If the message editing is interrupted by incoming calls,
alarm clock, power off, the entered texts will be saved
temporally. Next time you enter “Create message”, the
phone will ask you if the last edit should be continued. If
you select “no”, the last edit will be discarded.
Inbox
Select and enter Inbox.
The messages in the Inbox are displayed.
Press Left/Right key to view inbox, outbox, draft.
Use Up/Down key to select the message, and then press

OK key to view its detail. Use Up/Down key to scroll the
texts.
When reading the message, you can:
Press the G Send key to edit a new message. Press the C
send key to edit a new MMS.
Press OK key / left soft key to view the sub-menus.
Sent
View the sent
Outbox
Select and press OK key to enter Outbox.
The message will save to outbox if fails to send.
The messages in the Outbox are listed.
Use Up/Down key to select the message, and then press
OK key to view its detail. Use Up/Down key to scroll the
texts.
Press left soft key to view the option menu.
Drafts
Select and press OK key to enter Drafts.
The messages in the Inbox are displayed. Use Up/Down
key to select the message, and then press OK key to view
its detail. Use Up/Down key to scroll the texts.
CDMA Voice mail
View the voice message.

Settings
Send mode: select different mode.
Preferred storage: select different storage.
Validity period: you can set the validity time is maximum,
1 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, 1 week. Your message is sent to
the network first, and then forwarded to the recipient if his
phone can be accessed. Validity period is a time period,
after which the network will delete the message
automatically without sending it when the recipient’s phone
keeps inaccessible, for example powered off or with Inbox
fulfilled.
Delivery Report: you can Activate or Deactivate the status
report. Delivery report is a confirming notification from the
network when your message is sent to the recipient
successfully.
Note:
This function depends on your local network and the
functionality of your recipient’s phone.
You can set enable or disable to display the delivery report.
My signature: when using the signature, you can edit the
content.
CDMA priority: you can set the priority about the
message.
Set CDMA replay number:
Input the number and press left soft key to save it.
Scheduled SMS
Create scheduled SMS: edit a new message and set time.
Scheduled SMS: view and edit the reserved message.

Expired Scheduled SMS:: view the expired reserved
message.
When arrived the set time, the phone will send the
message automatically.
Multi-recipent delivery report
Choose and view the group delivery report.
SMS manager
Select copy\ to memory card\ delete the message.
Memory status
You can view the phone and card messages saved in the
box.

Power on/off
You can use the following feature to turn Bluetooth power
on or off:
You can turn on or turn off the power. You can view the
status about the bluetooth.
Device’s Name
You can edit the device’s name.
Visibility
Select on or off the visibility.
Services
Set the FTP services, Dial-up networking or auto load
vCard as on or off.
My Devices
You can find new device, spot “search BT device” to find a
new device.

There 10 alarms to selected.
You can set the mode, ringtone and time. Set it on or off.
In alarm mode, you can set daily, weekly or specify date in
a week.
In alarm ring, you can select ring from fixed ring, my audio,
MP3 or Records.
When you repeat times, select once, twice or 3 times.
Set the interval as 5,10,15minutes.

Select and enter profile.

Music
You can play the files saved in phone or TF card.
You can connect your phone to a computer and manually
copy or sync music files from the computer to phone
memory or to an optional TF memory card in the phone.
Attach the USB cable to the USB port on your phone and to
an available USB port on your computer.
All songs: view all songs list.
Playlists: view different list as: recently played, most
played or recently added.
Artists: view different artists’ songs.
Albums: view different albums list.
Genres: view different genres list.
Press left soft key, you can do:

Tools
Alarm
There 10 alarms to selected.
You can set the mode, ringtone and time. Set it on or off.
In alarm mode, you can set daily, weekly or specify date in
a week.
In alarm ring, you can select ring from fixed ring, my audio,
MP3 or Records.
When you repeat times, select once, twice or 3 times.
Set the interval as 5,10,15minutes.
Calendar
scroll to calendar and press OK key to display Schedule.
Select the right date, press the left soft key, you can do like
this:
1. Add event: add the new schedule, fill in the
corresponding option. You can set title, date, time,
and the mode of the repeat.
2. Scheduled SMS: edit scheduled SMS.
3. Task list: view the task list.
4. View: view the daily or weekly task.
5. Delete: delete current day or delete all.
6. Memory status: view the phone’s memory status.
7. Settings: select the time to delete the saved
calculator.
Memo
View the memo list. Press the left soft key to view option:

Edit the English templates\ expressions and .com.
Unit Converter
Convert the length, weight, volume, area or temperature.
Input one number in one edit casing, the phone will gave
the other number with different unit.

Select “AON”, select the unit, then input the numbers,
Then select “CNY”, view the different result.
Query home zone
You can query china information\ country code\add home
zone.
Input the number, press the OK key to view the home zone.
Clock
World clock
A world map is displayed. Press Left/Right key to move the
square icon which represents the city’s location. The city’s
name and local time are displayed below.
Time check
Change the status as on, then you can select the interval
and edit the start and end time.
Birthday reminder
Select “recent birthdays”, view the recent birthday list.
Select “set alarm”, you can change the status as on, then
you can alarm time and rington.
Stopwatch
Select and view stopwatch.
Split timing: select “start”, “timing” and “stop” to control the

Lap timing: record the current lap time, the operation can

1. CDMA -IP set
You can set CDMA IP numbers.

Call Waiting
When Call Waiting is activated, if you are in a call and
another call is incoming, there will be an alert and the new
calling number will be displayed on the screen. You can
choose to answer it or reject it. If the new call is answered,
the former one will be hold and you can toggle between the
two calls by Send key.
Unconditional forwarding
When activated, all calls to your number will be forwarded
to a designated number unconditionally.
Select on and press OK key to input a number to which all

your calls will be forwarded. Select off to disable it.
Forward if busy
When activated, all calls to your number will be forwarded
to a designated number if you are in call.
Select on and press OK key to input a number to which all
your calls will be forwarded. Select off to disable it.
Forward if no answer
When activated, all calls to your number will be forwarded
to a designated number if they are not answered.
Select on and press OK key to input a number to which all
your calls will be forwarded. Select off to disable it.
Divert if unreachable
If the call can’t reach the other side, it will be diverted to the
set number.
Cancel all diverts
Cancel all set diverts.
4. GSM supplementary service
Call waiting
When Call Waiting is activated, if you are in a call and
another call is incoming, there will be an alert and the new
calling number will be displayed on the screen. You can
choose to answer it or reject it. If the new call is answered,
the former one will be hold and you can toggle between the
two calls by shuttle in the option.
Call forward
When Call divert is activated, if you are busy when there
are some call coming .You can divert this call to another
number.
Call barring
When Call barring is activated, you can barring some
numbers to your phone.
5. Select GSM operator

6. Select GSM band
The detail can ask the local operation.
7. CDMA international prefix
Set the status as “on” or “off”.
If set it as “off”, when user call out number with “+”, the
phone will displace the “+” as the prefix.
8. Refusal SMS
You should edit the content.
9. Other
Press the left/right key to set the answer method as
pressing any key or answer key.
Set the minute alert as on or off.
Set the headset auto answer as on or off.
Security setting
Input the password, the default one is 0000.

press OK key to select the security items.
2. Phone lock
Set the phone lock as on or off.
3. change password
Input your old password first, then input new password,
then input new one again to confirm it.
4. blacklist
set the phone reject number or SMS reject number.
Press the number key to enter the number.
Press the left soft key, you can save or delete the numbers.
5. set PIN
You can check PIN and change PIN.

6. restore to factory setting
Reset all settings to be those of coming out of factory. The
phone’s password will be needed.
After resetting, the phone will power off automatically.
When the phone is powered on again, all settings has been
reset.

High-speed Data Service
This mobile phone supports CDMA 1x High-speed data
service. Connecting the phone to the PC by dedicated data
line, Users can surf in internet anytime and anywhere.
Operation step :
First, connect the dedicated data line. The USB end is
