Caution & Warning
Failure to do the following may result in a decrease in
performance of the apparatus, trouble, breakage, deformation,
discoloring, electric shock, smoke, burning, or other dangers.
Warning
Do not disassemble or modify the product.
Do not insert alien substances such as an iron plate,
a plastic, paper. Do not insert an IC card that is out of the
standard.
While ACCESS LED turns on red, do not remove IC card
and an AC adapter.
When an abnormal smell, emission of smoke, fire or sound
is found, pull up a AC outlet immediately and do not use
them.
The AC adapter must use exclusive use AC adapter of the
attachment.
Caution
・Do not use this apparatus in moist or dusty environments.
・Do not leave this apparatus in high temperature or high
humidity environments and do not exposed to direct
sunlight.
・Do not drop the products from the desk, and do not apply
a strong shock.
・Do not insert the IC card with oil or dust to a Reader/Writer.
・Do not insert IC card upside down, do not insert IC card
revers direction, especially embossed card.
・Do not extend the cable.
・Please do not wipe it with benzene and thinner, alcohol.
・Please do not use IC card which puts the seal and the label,
etc.

1.Introduction
M−660A(670A,680A) is interface device for organization of IC card
system with connecting to external facilities such as PC by RS-232C
interface.
Before using this apparatus, read this manual and follow the instruction
for proper operation.

4.Operation
4.1 Connection
1)Connect the attached AC adapter to the “DC IN” of the back
side of apparatus, make sure that “POWER” of the back side of the
apparatus must be “O”.
2)Connect the attached RS-232C cable to “RS-232C” of back side of
apparatus and serial interface of PC.
4.2 Power on (preparation of communication)
1)Set the “POWER” switch of back side of the apparatus to “I” side.
Then, POWER LED light on. Preparation is finished.
If you put power on, when IC card is still inside, IC card will be ejected
by automatic ejection. In that case remove IC card from the
apparatus
and power off. Power on again.
4.3 IC card insertion
Insert IC card with “contact”on the upper surface.
Since this apparatus is motor driven, if you insert IC card part of the
way, it will be inserted automatically.
When the motor does not rotate, it is not ready, so do not insert
IC card unreasonably.
4.4 Power off
After ejection of IC card, turn off the power switch. Power LED
light off.

4.6 LED
1) The apparatus has 2 LED on the front. they have following
functions.
POWER: Power source ON, OFF and error.
ACCESS: Communication with IC card.
