• DO NOT reach for a unit that has fallen into water. Unplug it immediately.

• DO NOT use while bathing or in the shower.

• DO NOT place or store the unit where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.

• Stop using this unit if there is an unusual noise or smell.

• Unplug this unit when not in use for a long period of time.

• Do not touch the water or any parts of the unit that are covered by water while the

unit is on or plugged in.

• Do not wash, adjust, or move this unit without first unplugging it from the electrical

Unique Features and Specifications

Ultrasonic Technology

This humidifier uses ultrasonic high frequency technology to convert the water into

1-5 million super particles that are dispersed into the air evenly.

Oscillating Head

The humidifier features a motorized nozzle that oscillates 120°. The oscillating head

can also be stopped at any point in the oscillation cycle to target the mist in a

specific direction.

Night Light

A useful night light feature is included for your convenience.

Auto Shut Off Protection

When the tank is empty the unit will shut off automatically.

lug unit in to a 120 volt AC electrical outlet. Turn the POWER knob clockwise to

turn unit on.

ATTENTION: When the water in the tank is almost empty the red indicator light in

the tank will turn on and the power will shut off to indicate to the user to refill water.

Mist Adjustment Setting

Mist adjusts from Lowest output ( ) to Highest output ( ). To increase the mist

output, turn the MIST adjustment knob clockwise. To decrease mist output, turn the

MIST adjustment knob counter-clockwise. (Fig.2)

Night Light

Press the NIGHT LIGHT ( ) button to turn on the night light. The light at the bottom

of the water tank will turn on, illuminating the tank. (Fig.2)

Oscillation

When the humidifier is producing mist, press the OSCILLATION ON/OFF ( ) button

to turn on the motorized oscillation feature. The nozzle at the top of the unit will

oscillate in a 120° range from side to side. To target the nozzle and mist in a fixed

direction, press the OSCILLATION ON/OFF ( ) button when the nozzle is at the

desired position and the nozzle will stop and direct mist to the desired area only.

NOTE: The oscillation feature will not operate if the humidifying function is not

operating. Oscillation feature will only work when mist is being produced.

How To Use

CAUTION: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the

other). To reduce the risk of shock, this plug is intended to fit only one

way in a polarized outlet. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse

the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.

DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature. To do so could result in an

electric shock hazard.

1. Remove the oscillation nozzle. To remove the nozzle,

turn the ring on the bottom of the nozzle to the left

until the Locator icons on the head, ring and base

all line up and are aligned with the UNLOCK ( )

position. Lift up to remove the nozzle and set aside.

2. Raise the flip-up handle on the water tank and

remove the tank from the humidifier base by lifting it

up and away.

3. Turn the tank upside down – remove the tank cap by

turning it counter-clockwise.

4. FIll the water tank with clean, cool (not cold) water.

We recommend using distilled water if you live in a

hard water area.

How To Fill

CAUTION: Before filling unit with water, turn power off and unplug unit from outlet.

NOTE: Always use two hands to carry the water tank.

5. Replace the tank cap by turning clockwise until tight.

6. Install the tank back on the base of the unit. Make

sure the tank is firmly seated.

7. Place the oscillating nozzle back on the unit making

sure that the locator icons on the head and ring are

aligned with the locator icon ( ) on the base above

the UNLOCK ( ) icon.

8. Lock into place by turning the ring to the right

until the Locator icon ( ) is aligned with the

LOCK ( ) position.

5. Place the tank back on the base.

6. Place the oscillating nozzle back on to the unit and lock into place by turning

the ring to the right until the locator icon is aligned with the LOCK position.

(Fig.10)

Note: The demineralization cartridge has no top or bottom. Either side can face

upward.

Cleaning and Care

CAUTION: Before cleaning the unit, turn power off and unplug unit from the outlet.

About White Dust

Use of high mineral content hard water may cause a white mineral residue to

accumulate on surfaces in the room near the humidifier. The mineral residue is

commonly called “white dust.” The higher the mineral content (or, the harder your

water is), the greater the potential for white dust. The white dust is not caused by a

defect in the humidifier. It is caused only by minerals suspended in the water.

How and Why To Use Demineralization Cartridges:

The HoMedics demineralization cartridge will help reduce the potential for white

dust, a deposit of minerals left behind from using hard water in your humidifier.

The cartridge should be replaced every 30 – 40 fillings. The cartridge may need

to be replaced more often if you are using very hard water. Replace the cartridge

when you notice an increase in white dust build-up. If white dust still forms

around the humidifier after a new cartridge has been installed, consider using

distilled water. To purchase new demineralization cartridges, model # HUM-

HDDC4-6CTM, go back to the retailer (where you purchased your humidifier), or

visit www.homedics.com

If you live in an area with hard water, or use a water softener, we

recommend using distilled water for better results from your humidifier.

Never use water softening additives in your humidifier.

Installing Instructions

1. Remove demineralization cartridge from packaging and let it soak in water

for 10 minutes.

2. Remove the oscillation nozzle. To remove the nozzle, turn the ring on the

bottom of the nozzle to the left until the locator icons on the head, ring and

base all line up and are aligned with the UNLOCK position. Lift up to remove

the nozzle and set aside. (Fig.4)

3. Raise the flip-up handle on the water tank and remove the tank from the

humidifier base by lifting it up and away. (Fig.5)

4. Place the soaked demineralization cartridge down onto post and into the

matching slot in the humidifier base. (Fig.12)

To Clean the Water Tank:

Remove the tank from the humidifier base by

lifting it from the main unit. Unscrew the tank cap

and rinse inside the tank with clean water.

To remove any scale or build-up, use a 50/50

mixture of vinegar and lukewarm water to clean

the inside of the tank.

Suggestion: Clean the water tank once every

two to three weeks, depending on your water

conditions.

To Clean the Ultrasonic Membrane:

Put a small amount of mild dish soap on the

surface of the ultrasonic membrane, then pour in

some water and let soak for five minutes. Brush

clean with a soft-bristle brush (not included) and

rinse.

Suggestion: Clean the membrane once every

two to three weeks, depending on your water

conditions.

NOTE: Never submerge the base in water or

any liquid.

To Clean the Outer Surfaces:

Clean the surface of your humidifier with a clean,

damp, soft cloth as often as needed.

HoMedics sells its products with the intent that they are free of defects in manufacture and

workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original purchase, except as noted below.

HoMedics warrants that its products will be free of defects in material and workmanship under normal

use and service. This warranty extends only to consumers and does not extend to Retailers.

To obtain warranty service on your HoMedics product, contact a Consumer Relations Representative

by telephone at 1-800-466-3342 for assistance. Please make sure to have the model number of the

product available.

No COD’s will be accepted.

HoMedics does not authorize anyone, including, but not limited to, Retailers, the subsequent

consumer purchaser of the product from a Retailer or remote purchasers, to obligate HoMedics in

any way beyond the terms set forth herein. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse

or abuse; accident; the attachment of any unauthorized accessory; alteration to the product; improper

installation; unauthorized repairs or modifications; improper use of electrical/power supply; loss

of power; dropped product; malfunction or damage of an operating part from failure to provide

manufacturer’s recommended maintenance; transportation damage; theft; neglect; vandalism; or

environmental conditions; loss of use during the period the product is at a repair facility or otherwise

awaiting parts or repair; or any other conditions whatsoever that are beyond the control of HoMedics.

This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the country in which the

product is purchased. A product that requires modifications or adoption to enable it to operate in any

other country than the country for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or authorized,

or repair of products damaged by these modifications is not covered under this warranty.

THE WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN SHALL BE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY. THERE

SHALL BE NO OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY

OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS OR ANY OTHER OBLIGATION ON THE PART OF THE COMPANY

WITH RESPECT TO PRODUCTS COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY. HOMEDICS SHALL HAVE NO

LIABILITY FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL

THIS WARRANTY REQUIRE MORE THAN THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF ANY PART OR PARTS

Perilla de encendido

ATENCIÓN: cuando el agua dentro del tanque está por agotarse, la luz indicadora

roja del tanque se encenderá y la energía se apagará para indicarle al usuario que

debe volver a llenarlo de agua.

Configuración de ajuste de niebla

La niebla se ajusta desde la emisión mínima a la más alta. Para aumentar la emisión

de niebla, gire la “MIST” ( ) perilla de ajuste hacia la derecha. Para disminuir la

emisión de niebla, gire la “MIST” ( ) perilla de ajuste hacia la izquierda. (Fig.2)

Veladora

Presione el botón NIGHT LIGHT ( ) de la veladora. La luz en la parte inferior del

tanque de agua se encenderá, iluminando el tanque.

Oscilación

Cuando el humidificador está produciendo niebla, presione el botón OSCILLATION

ON/OFF ( ) para encender la función de oscilación motorizada. La boquilla en

la parte superior de la unidad oscilará en un rango de 120º de lado a lado. Para

apuntar la boquilla y la niebla en una dirección fija, presione el botón OSCILLATION

ON/OFF ( ) cuando la boquilla esté en la posición deseada y la misma se detendrá

y dirigirá la niebla únicamente al área deseada.

NOTA: la función de oscilación no funcionará si la función de humidificación no

está en funcionamiento. La función de oscilación sólo funcionará cuando se esté

produciendo niebla.

Modo de uso

PRECAUCIÓN: este artefacto tiene un enchufe polarizado (una paleta

es más ancha que la otra). Para reducir el riesgo de descargas, este

enchufe está diseñado para calzar de una sola forma en un tomacorriente

polarizado. Si el enchufe no encaja completamente en el tomacorriente,

invierta el enchufe. Si aún así no encaja, póngase en contacto con un

electricista calificado.

NO intente destruir esta característica de seguridad. Hacerlo podría tener

como resultado un peligro de choque eléctrico.

1. Cómo retirar la boquilla de oscilación. Para retirar la

boquilla, gire el anillo que se encuentra en la parte

inferior de la boquilla hacia la derecha hasta que

los íconos de ubicación del cabezal, el anillo y la

base se alineen y estén alineados con la posición

UNLOCK ( ). Levante para retirar la boquilla y deje

a un lado.

2. Levante el mango abatible del tanque de agua

y retire el tanque de la base del humidificador

levantándolo y quitándolo.

3. Dé vuelta el tanque, quite la tapa del tanque

girándola hacia la izquierda.

4. Llene el tanque de agua con agua limpia y fresca (no

fría) del agua. Le recomendamos usar agua destilada

si vive en un área con agua dura.

Cómo llenar

PRECAUCIÓN: antes de llenar la unidad con agua, apague la corriente y

desenchufe la unidad del tomacorriente.

NOTA: Siempre use las dos manos para realizar el depósito de agua.

5. Vuelva a colocar la tapa del tanque girándola hacia la

derecha hasta que esté ajustada.

6. Vuelva a instalar el tanque en la base de la unidad.

Asegúrese de que el tanque esté asentado

firmemente.

7. Coloque la boquilla oscilante de vuelta en la unidad

asegurándose de que los íconos de ubicación ( )

de la cabeza y el anillo estén alineados con el ícono

de ubicación de la base sobre el ícono UNLOCK

( ).

8. Trabe en su lugar girando el anillo hacia la derecha

hasta que el ícono de ubicación ( ) esté alineado

con la posición LOCK ( ).

5. Vuelva a colocar el tanque sobre la base.

6. Vuelva a colocar la boquilla oscilante en la unidad y trábela en su lugar girando

el anillo hacia la derecha hasta que el ícono de ubicación esté alineado con la

posición LOCK (trabar). (Fig.10)

Nota: El cartucho de desmineralización no tiene ningún principio o al final. Cualquiera

de las partes puede mirar hacia arriba.

Limpieza y cuidado

PRECAUCIÓN: antes de limpiar la unidad, apague la corriente y desenchufe la

unidad del tomacorriente.

Sobre el polvo blanco:

El uso de agua dura con alto contenido mineral puede causar la acumulación de un

residuo mineral blanco en las superficies de la habitación cerca del humidificador.

El residuo mineral se llama comúnmente “polvo blanco”. Cuanto más alto es el

contenido mineral (o más dura es su agua), hay más posibilidades de que se forme

el polvo blanco. El polvo blanco no se debe a un defecto en el humidificador. Es

causado solo por los minerales suspendidos en el agua.

Cómo y por qué usar cartuchos de desmineralización:

El cartucho de desmineralización HoMedics ayudará a reducir la probabilidad de que

se forme polvo blanco, un depósito de minerales dejado por el uso de agua dura en

su humidificador. El cartucho debe reemplazarse cada 30 a 40 veces que se llena

el humidificador. Es probable que el cartucho tenga que ser reemplazado con más

frecuencia si usa agua muy dura. Reemplace el cartucho cuando note un aumento

en la acumulación de polvo blanco. Si aún se forma polvo blanco alrededor del

humidificador luego de haber colocado un cartucho nuevo, considere usar agua

destilada. Para comprar cartuchos de desmineralización nuevos, modelo N.º HUM-

HDDC4-6CTM, vuelva a la tienda minorista (donde compró su humidificador) o visite

www.homedics.com

Si vive en un área que tiene agua dura o usa un ablandador de agua, le

recomendamos el uso de agua destilada para obtener mejores resultados

de su humidificador. Nunca use aditivos para ablandar el agua en su

humidificador.

Instrucciones de instalación

1. Retire el cartucho de desmineralización del envase y remójelo en agua durante

10 minutos.

2. Retire la boquilla de oscilación. Para retirar la boquilla, gire el anillo que se

encuentra en la parte inferior de la boquilla hacia la izquierda hasta que los

íconos de ubicación del cabezal, el anillo y la base se alineen y estén alineados

con la posición UNLOCK (destrabar). Levante para retirar la boquilla y deje a un

lado. (Fig.4)

3. Levante el mango abatible del tanque de agua y retire el tanque de la base del

humidificador levantándolo y quitándolo. (Fig.5)

4. Coloque el empapado cartucho de desmineralización en el poste y dentro de la

Quite el tanque de la base del humidificador levantándolo

de la unidad principal. Desenrosque la tapa del tanque y

enjuague el interior con agua limpia. (Fig. 14)

Para quitar sarro o acumulación, use una mezcla de vinagre

y tibio agua (50/50) para limpiar el interior del tanque.

Sugerencia: limpie el tanque de agua una vez cada dos o

tres semanas, dependiendo de las condiciones del agua.

Limpieza del membrana ultrasónico:

Coloque una pequeña cantidad de detergente suave para

vajilla sobre la superficie del membrana ultrasónico, luego

vierta un poco de agua y remoje durante cinco minutos.

Cepille para limpiarlo con un cepillo de cerdas suaves (no

incluido) y enjuague. (Fig. 15)

Sugerencia: limpie el membrana una vez cada dos o tres

semanas, según las condiciones del agua.

NOTA: Nunca sumerja la base en agua ni en ningún otro

líquido.

Limpieza de las superficies externas:

Limpie la superficie de su humidificador con un paño limpio,

húmedo y blando tanto como sea necesario. (Fig. 16)
