Certification Information (SAR) THIS DEVICE MEETS THE GOVERNMENT'S REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO FREQUENCY ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD. Your phone is a low-power radio transmitter and receiver. When it is turned on, it emits low levels of radio frequency energy (also known as radio waves or radio frequency fields). Governments around the world have adopted comprehensive international safety guidelines, developed by scientific organizations, e.g. ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection) and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.), through periodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. These guidelines establish permitted levels of radio wave exposure for the public. The levels include a safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health, and to account for any variations in measurements. 48 Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is the unit of measurement for the amount of radio frequency energy absorbed by the body when using a mobile phone. The SAR value is determined at the highest certified power level in laboratory conditions, but the actual SAR level of the phone while operating can be well below the value. This is because the phone is designed to use the minimum power required to reach the network. All models of Huawei’s mobile phone are designed to meet radio frequency exposure guidelines. Before a phone model is available for sale to the public, it must be tested according to the technical standard-EN 50361 and does not exceed the limit established by the European Council Recommendation: 1999/519/EC for safe exposure. The tests are performed in using positions (that is, at the ear) as required by the EN50361 for each model. For body worn operation, this phone has been tested and meets FCC RF exposure guidelines when used with an accessory that contains no metal and that positions the handset a minimum of 1.5 cm from the body. Use of other accessories may not ensure compliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines. The SAR limit adopted by the 1999/519/EC is 2.0 watts/kilogram (W/kg) averaged over ten gram of tissue. The highest SAR value for this device type when tested at the ear is 0.846 W/kg. The SAR limit adopted by USA is 1.6watts/kg averaged over one gram of tissue. The highest SAR value reported to FCC for this device type when test for use is 1.24W/kg. 49 12 Index A C adjusting earpiece volume, 13 calculator, 31 call mute, 13 end or reject, 3 privacy, 13 Inbox, 21 alarm, 30 make or receive, 3 animation, 34 voice mail, 22 any key answer, 35 call duration, 29 auto answer, 36 call history auto key guard, 38 dialed, 28 auto off, 36 missed, 28 auto retry, 36 received, 28 call restrict, 38 call setting B call forward, 35 backlight, 34 call waiting, 35 banner, 34 charging battery, 8 battery contrast, 34 charging, 8 installing, 6 removing, 7 50 copy all, 26 text, 16 D extras alarm, 30 delete all calculator, 31 call history, 29 game, 30 dialed, 29 sw version, 31 inbox, 23 message, 23 missed, 29 F outbox, 23 phone, 26 format phonebook, 26 date, 34 received, 29 time, 34 R-UIM card, 26 dialing international toll call, 11 recently called number, 11 G game, 30 group display add, 25 animation, 34 delete, 25 backlight, 34 rename, 25 banner, 34 view, 25 contrast, 34 I E inbox, 21 entering number, 19 inbox message call, 21 symbols, 19 51 delete, 21 forward, 21 reply, 21 save to phonebook, 21 N new, 24 int’l call, 36 O K outbox, 22 keybeep length, 32 outbox message delete, 22 edit, 22 L forward, 22 re-send, 22 language, 36 P M phone lock, 37 making call, 11 PIN lock, 37 memory status power off, 33 message, 23 power on, 33 phonebook, 27 powering off, 10, 11 messages powering on, 10, 11 inbox, 21 outbox, 22 voice mail, 22 write, 20 minute alert, 36 mute, 13 52 R received call, 28 record number, 13 record option copy, 24 key tone, 32 delete, 24 keybeep, 32 write message, 24 power off, 33 ring ring mode, 32 mode, 32 ring tone, 32 tone, 32 SMS recv tone, 33 R-UIM card SMS send tone, 33 copy all, 26 delete all, 26 volume, 32 speed dial, 25 installing, 10 removing, 10 T time S time format, 34 scratchpad, 13 search, 24 time zone, 35 tone setting alarm, 32 auto key guard, 38 key, 32 call, 35 ring, 32 display, 34 SMS recv, 33 factory set, 39 SMS send, 33 msg, 23 phone, 36 privacy, 39 security, 37 U user identity module, 9 time, 34 sound alarm tone, 32 53 V W voice mail, 22 writer message call, 22 save, 20 delete, 23 send, 20 voice mail number, 23 volume, 32 Ver:1.10 54 BOM:31016226
