Forward/ReversehandleintheNEUTRALposition,turnthekeyswitchtotheOFFposition,andremove
thekey.Chockthewheelswhenservicingthevehicle.
Improperuseofthevehicleorfailuretoproperlymaintainitcouldresultindecreasedvehicle
performance,severepersonalinjury,ordeath.
Anymodicationorchangetothevehiclethataffectsthestabilityorhandlingofthevehicle,or
increasesmaximumvehiclespeedbeyondfactoryspecications,couldresultinseverepersonal

Wearsafetyglassesorapprovedeyeprotectionwhenservicingthevehicle.Wearafullfaceshieldand
rubbergloveswhenworkingonornearbatteries.
Donotwearlooseclothingorjewelrysuchasrings,watches,chains,etc.,whenservicingthevehicle.
Useinsulatedtoolswhenworkingnearbatteriesorelectricalconnections.Useextremecautionto
avoidshortingofcomponentsorwiring.

TheserialnumberofeachHUV4213vehicleisprintedonabarcodedecalmountedontheframedirectlyabovethe
acceleratorpedal(Example:SH0501-583947)(Figure3).Thereisalsoasecondserialnumberdecalmountedon
thefrontbodyframebehindtheinstrumentpanel.Theinstrumentpanelmustberemovedtoviewthisdecal.See

OFF,ONandSTART.T ostartthevehicle,placetheForward/ReversehandleintheNEUTRALpositionandturnthe
keypasttheONpositiontotheSTARTpositionandholduntiltheengineisrunningsmoothly.Releasethekeyandit
willreturntotheONpositionandtheengineshouldidle.Theenginewillcontinuetoidleuntilthekeyisturnedtothe
OFFposition.SeefollowingWARNING,CAUTIONandNOTE.

vehicleintheforwarddirection,ortowardsthepassenger(REVERSE)tooperatethevehicleinreverse.Theengine
canbestartedonlywhenthehandleisinthestraightupposition(NEUTRAL).Theenginemustbeatidlebefore
shiftingtheForward/Reversehandle.SeeprecedingWARNINGandCAUTION.
Husqvarnavehiclesoperateatareducedspeedinreverse.Thereversebuzzerwillsoundasawarningwhenthe

PARKBRAKE
Theparkbrakehandleislocatedbetweenthedriverandpassengerseats.T oengagetheparkbrake,rstapply
pressuretothebrakepedal,thenpullupontheparkbrakehandleuntilhandlelatchesintoplace.T odisengage,pull
uponthehandleandpressthebuttonontheendofthehandle.Pushhandledown.SeefollowingWARNING.
WARNING
Theparkbrakehasmultiplelockingpositionsandshouldbermlylockedtopreventvehiclefrom
rolling.
LOCKOUTCAM
Thekey-startvehicleisequippedwithalockoutcamthatallowstheenginetobestartedonlywhenthe
Forward/ReversehandleisintheNEUTRALposition.Thelockoutcam(yellow)islocatedonthebackofthe
Foward/Reversehandleinsidetheenginecompartment(Figure8).

LOWOILWARNINGLIGHT
Thevehicleisequippedwithalowoilwarninglight,locatedontheinstrumentpaneljusttotherightofthesteering
columnandkeyswitch(Figure11).Ifthewarninglightcomeson,oilshouldbecheckedandaddedtotheengineas
necessarybeforecontinuingtousethevehicle.Thevehicleshouldneverbedrivenwhenthelowoilwarninglight
remainson.Ifthewarninglightgoesonandoff,thevehiclemaybedriven,butoilshouldbeaddedattherst
opportunity.Iftheoilleveliscorrectandthewarninglightstayson,haveatrainedtechniciancheckthevehicle.
SeefollowingCAUTION.
CAUTION
Failuretoaddoilimmediatelywhenthelowoilwarninglightstaysonmayresultinpermanent
enginedamage.

Pulltheheadlightcontrolknobouttoturntheheadlightsonandpushtheknobintoturntheheadlightsoff.
NOTE:Usingtheheadlightsforextendedperiodsoftimewithouttheenginerunning,orwiththeengineidling,will
dischargethebattery.
LIGHTBARCONTROL
Thelightbarcontrolisatoggleswitchlocatedontheinstrumentpanelaboveandslightlyleftoftheheadlightcontrol
knob.Placethetoggleswitchintheupperpositiontoilluminatethelightbarlightsandinthelowerpositiontoturnthe
lightbarlightsoff.
SEATLATCHANDADJUSTMENT
Theseatsarehingedtoalloweasyaccesstotheenginecompartment.Alatchattherearofeachseatbottomkeeps
theseatfrommovingonitshingeswhilethevehicleisinoperation.T odisengagethelatch,grasptheseatbackand
pullrmlyinaforward/upwarddirectionuntilthelatchreleases.Toengagetheseatlatch,pushdownrmlyontheseat
backuntiltheseatlocksintoplace.SeefollowingWARNING.

shouldnotgomorethanhalfwaytotheoorboard,andvehicleshouldcometoasmooth,straightstop.Ifthebrake
pedalgoesmorethanhalfwaytotheoorboard,orifthevehicleswervesorfailstostop,havethebrakesystem
checkedandadjustedasrequired.Whenbrakepedalisfullypressedunderheavypressure,pedalshouldfeelrm
andfootpadshouldbeaminimumof2inches(5.1cm)fromoorboard.Brakeadjustmentmustbemaintainedso
thebrakepedalcannotbepressedtotheoorboardunderanycircumstance.

Differentiallockcable:Withthewheelsatrest,pullthedifferentiallockhandletowardtherearofthevehicle
(lockedposition).Thedifferentiallockarmattheotherendofthecableshouldmoveapproximatelyone-halfinch
(12.7mm)downward.Whenthedifferentiallockhandleisplacedbackintotheunlockedposition,thedifferential
lockarmshouldmoveapproximatelyone-halfinch(12.7mm)upward.

YournewHusqvarna("Husqvarna")vehicleenginecomplieswithboththeU.S.EPAandStateofCaliforniaemission
regulations.However,theuseofgasolinepoweredgolfcarsinareasofCaliforniathatdonotattainthefederalozone
standardsisillegal.PleaserefertotheAirResourcesBoardinformationathttp://www.arb.ca.gov/enf/enf.htmfor
compliance.
YOURWARRANTYRIGHTSANDOBLIGATIONS:
TheCaliforniaAirResourcesBoard("CARB")andHusqvarnaarepleasedtoexplaintheemissioncontrolsystem
warrantyonyour2008vehicleengine.InCalifornia,newsmalloff-roadengines(SORE)mustbedesigned,builtand
equippedtomeettheState’sstringentanti-smogstandards.Husqvarnamustwarranttheemissioncontrolsystem
onthevehicleenginefortheperiodsoftimelistedbelowprovidedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglectorimproper
maintenanceofyoursmalloff-roadengine.Youremissioncontrolsystemmayincludepartssuchasthecarburetoror
fuel-injectionsystem,theignitionsystem,andcatalyticconverter.Alsoincludedmaybehoses,belts,connectorsand
otheremission-relatedassemblies.Whereawarrantableconditionexists,Husqvarnawillrepairyourvehicleengine
atnocosttoyouincludingdiagnosis,partsandlabor.
MANUFACTURER’SWARRANTYCOVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfortwoyears.Ifanyemission-relatedpartonyourequipmentisdefective,
thepartwillberepairedorreplacedbyHusqvarna.
OWNER’SWARRANTYRESPONSIBILITIES:
-Asthevehicleengineowner,youareresponsiblefortheperformanceoftherequiredmaintenancelistedinyour
owner’smanual.Husqvarnarecommendsthatyouretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyourvehicleengine,but
Husqvarnacannotdenywarrantysolelyforthelackofreceiptsorforyourfailuretoensuretheperformanceofall
scheduledmaintenance.
-Asthevehicleengineowner,youshouldhoweverbeawarethatHusqvarnamaydenyyouwarrantycoverageif
vehicleengineoraparthasfailedduetoabuse,neglect,impropermaintenanceorunapprovedmodications.
-YouareresponsibleforpresentingvehicleenginetoaHusqvarnadistributioncenterassoonasaproblemexists.
Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedinareasonableamountoftime,nottoexceed30days.

HusqvarnawarrantstotheultimatepurchaserandeachsubsequentpurchaserthattheSOREorequipmentis
designed,builtandequippedsoastoconformwithallapplicableregulations;andfreefromdefectsinmaterialsand
workmanshipthatcausethefailureofawarrantedparttobeidenticalinallmaterialrespectstothatpartasdescribedin
Husqvarnasapplicationforcertication.Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedatetheengineorequipmentisdelivered
toanultimatepurchaserorrstplacedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwoyears.
2.COVERAGE:
Subjecttocertainconditionsandexclusionsasstatedbelow,thewarrantyonemission-relatedpartsisasfollows:
(1)Anywarrantedpartthatisnotscheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenanceinthewritteninstructions
supplied,iswarrantedforthewarrantyperiodstatedabove.Ifthepartfailsduringtheperiodofwarrantycoverage,the
partwillberepairedorreplacedbyHusqvarnaaccordingtosubsection(4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedorreplaced
underwarrantywillbewarrantedfortheremainderoftheperiod.
(2)Anywarrantedpartthatisscheduledonlyforregularinspectioninthewritteninstructionssuppliediswarranted
forthewarrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuchpartrepairedorreplacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedforthe
remainingwarrantyperiod.
(3)Anywarrantedpartthatisscheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenanceinthewritteninstructionssuppliedis
warrantedfortheperiodoftimebeforetherstscheduledreplacementdateforthatpart.Ifthepartfailsbeforethe
rstscheduledreplacement,thepartwillberepairedorreplacedbyHusqvarnaaccordingtosubsection(4)below.
Anysuchpartrepairedorreplacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfortheremainderoftheperiodpriortotherst
scheduledreplacementpointforthepart.

(7)Husqvarnaisliablefordamagestootherengineorequipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedbyafailureunder
warrantyofanywarrantedpart.
(8)Throughouttheengineorequipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,Husqvarnawillmaintainasupplyofwarranted
partssufcienttomeettheexpecteddemandforsuchparts.
(9)Anyreplacementpartmaybeusedintheperformanceofanywarrantymaintenanceorrepairsandmustbe
providedwithoutchargetotheowner.SuchusewillnotreducethewarrantyobligationsofHusqvarna.
(10)Add-onormodiedpartsthatarenotexemptedbytheAirResourcesBoardmaynotbeused.Theuseofany
non-exemptedadd-onormodiedpartsbytheultimatepurchaserwillbegroundsfordisallowingawarrantyclaims.
Husqvarnawillnotbeliabletowarrantfailuresofwarrantedpartscausedbytheuseofanon-exemptedadd-onor

Therepairorreplacementofanywarrantedpartotherwiseeligibleforwarrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfrom
