TheForward/Reversehandle(6)islocatedontherightsideoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure5).Thehandlehasthree
distinctpositions:FORWARD(A),NEUTRAL(B),andREVERSE(C).Pushthehandleuptooperatethevehicleinthe
forwarddirection,orpullthehandledowntooperatethevehicleinreverse.Theenginecanbestartedonlywhen
thehandleisintheNEUTRAL(middle)position.TheenginemustbeatidlebeforeshiftingtheForward/Reverse
handle.SeeprecedingWARNINGSandCAUTION.
Thisvehicleoperatesatareducedspeedinreverse.
ACCELERATORPEDAL
Theacceleratorpedal(1)isthepedalfarthesttotheright(Figure5).
WiththeenginerunningandtheForward/ReversehandleintheFORWARDorREVERSEposition,vehiclespeed
willincreaseastheacceleratorpedalispressed.Whentheacceleratorpedalisreleased,itwillreturntotheoriginal

BRAKEPEDAL
Thebrakepedal(2)islocatedtotheimmediateleftoftheacceleratorpedal(Figure5).T osloworstopthevehicle,
pressthebrakepedal.
PARKBRAKEHANDLE
Theparkbrakehandle(5)islocatedbetweenthedriverandpassengerseats(Figure6).T oengagetheparkbrake,
rstapplypressuretothebrakepedal,thenpullupontheparkbrakehandleuntilhandlelatchesintoplace.To
disengage,liftleverbeneathhandle,thenpushhandledown.Foradjustmentofparkbrake,seePerformance

FRONTAXLECONTROL
Thefrontdriveunitengagementlever(3)islocatedontherightsideoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure5).Thehandlehas
twopositionsmarked4X4and4X2.Pushthehandleuptoengagethefrontwheeldriveunitorpushthehandledown
todisengagetheunit.Theengagementleverwasdesignedtobeshiftedwhilethevehicleisinmotionsomomentumis
notlostwhileoperatingonslipperyterrain.Thelevershouldalsobedisengagedwhilethevehicleisinmotion.
WARNING
•Donotoperatethevehicleonimprovedsurfaces(concrete,asphalt,etc.)in“4X4”mode.Doingso
increasessteeringeffort,tirewear,andshiftingeffort.
DIFFERENTIALLOCKCONTROL
Thereardifferentiallockcontrolhandle(4)islocatedontherightsideoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure5).Thehandle
hastwopositionsmarkedDIFFwithalockedpadlockiconandDIFFwithanunlockedpadlockicon.Pushthehandle
uptoengagethedifferentiallockorpullthehandledowntodisengagethedifferentiallock.

LOWOILPRESSUREWARNINGLIGHT
Thelowoilpressurewarninglight(9)islocatedontheinstrumentpaneljusttotheleftofthesteeringcolumn(Figure
5).Ifthewarninglightcomesonwhiletheengineisrunning,theoillevelshouldbecheckedandoiladdedtothe
engineasnecessarybeforevehicleusecontinues.Thevehicleshouldneverbedrivenwhenthelowoilpressure
warninglightremainslit.Ifthewarninglightgoesonandoff,thevehiclemaybedriven,butoilshouldbeaddedat
therstopportunity.Iftheoilleveliscorrectandthewarninglightremainslit,haveatrainedtechniciancheckthe
vehicle.SeefollowingCAUTION.
CAUTION
•Failuretoaddoilimmediatelywhenthelowoilwarninglightstaysonmayresultinpermanent
enginedamage.
FUELGAUGE/HOURMETER
Thefuelgaugeandhourmeter(8)arehousedtogetherontherightsideoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure5).Thefuel
gaugeoperateswhenthekeyswitchisintheONpositionandallowstheoperatortomonitorthefuellevelinthevehicle.

pullsmoothlyoutoftheretractor.
Toreleasetheseatbelt,pressthebucklereleasebutton(1)andallowthebelttoretract(Figure7).Ifthebeltdoesnot
retractsmoothly,pullitoutandcheckforkinksortwists.Thenmakesureitremainsfreeoftwistsasitretracts.

Usethefollowinglist,inadditiontothePre-OperationandDailySafetyChecklistonpage20,asaguidetoinspectthe
vehicledailyforproperoperation.Anyproblemsshouldbecorrectedbyadealer/distributororatrainedtechnician.
•Forward/ReverseControl:Checkforproperoperation.SeeControlsandIndicatorsonpage13.
•Brakes:Besurethebrakesfunctionproperly.Whenbrakepedalisfullypressedundermoderatepressure,the
vehicleshouldcometoasmooth,straightstop.Ifthevehicleswervesorfailstostop,havethebrakesystem
checkedandservicedasrequired.Whenthebrakepedalisfullypressedunderheavypressure,thepedalshould
feelrmandthedistancebetweenthebackofthepedalandtheoorboardshouldbeaminimumof1.25inches(3.2
cm).Brakesmustbemaintainedsothebrakepedalcannotbepressedtotheoorboardunderanycircumstance.

4.Besureallpassengersareseatedwiththeirseatbeltsfastenedandareholdingontohandholds.Drivershould
havebothhandsonthesteeringwheel.
5.Makesurewheelsareturnedindesireddirectionandnothingisinyourpath.
6.MakesuretheForward/ReversehandleisintheNEUTRALposition.
7.Pressandholdthebrakepedal.
NOTE:Iftheairtemperatureisbelow65°F ,thechokewillberequired.Atairtemperaturesabove65°F ,itmaynot
benecessarytousethechoketostarttheengine.
8.Startthevehicle:TurnthekeytotheSTARTpositionandholditthereuntiltheenginestarts.Activatethechoke
asnecessary.Iftheenginedoesnotstartafter10-15seconds,releasethekeyandrepeattheprocedure.Once
theenginestarts,releasethekeyanditwillreturntotheONposition.Theenginewillidleinneutral.
9.Releasetheparkbrake.
10.Keepthebrakepedalengaged,andselectdirectionoftravelbyplacingtheshifthandleinthedesiredposition

The4X2vehiclefeaturesadrivetrainwithalockingreardifferential.The4X4vehiclealsofeaturesanopenfront
differential.Innormaloperation,thereardifferentialdrivesthetwowheelsatvaryingspeedsasrequired.Under
conditionswithlowtraction,thedifferentiallockmaybeengagedallowingbothwheelstobecomelockedanddrive
atthesamespeed.Onthe4x4vehicle,thefrontdifferentialmayalsobeengagedtoprovideadditionaltractionin

•Whenservicingthevehiclewithpartofthevehicleonjackstands,donotoperatetheenginewiththe
Forward/ReversehandleineithertheFORWARDorREVERSEposition.Thefour-wheeldrivesystem

•Thediameterofalltiresonthevehiclemustbeequal;otherwisethefour-wheeldrivesystemwillnot

bulbs,lubricants,trimpieces,seats,routinewearitemssuchasthechargerplugandreceptacle,brakeshoes,
belts,brushes,bushings,drivebuttons,enginemounts,matsandpads,maintenanceadjustments,cosmetic
deterioration,anditemswhichdeteriorateorfailduetoexposureorordinarywearandtear.Batteries,battery
charger,onboardcomputer,andsolid-statespeedcontrollerarecoveredunderseparateHusqvarnawarranties.
AlsoexcludedfromanyHusqvarnawarrantyisdamagetoavehicleorcomponentresultingfromacauseother
thanadefectincludingunreasonableorunintendedstrainoruse,improperinstallationofaccessories,installation
ofpartsoraccessoriesthatarenotoriginalequipment,overloading,accident,alteration,abuseorneglect.
Transportationexpensesforwarrantyservicesarealsoexcludedfromthiswarranty.
3.VOIDINGOFWARRANTY:

MANUALANDMAINTENANCEANDSERVICEMANUALWASNOTPERFORMEDATTHETIMEANDIN
THEMANNERSPECIFIEDINSUCHMANUALS.
4.SOLEREMEDY:
Husqvarna’sliabilityunderthislimitedwarranty,orinanyactionwhetherbaseduponwarranty,contract,
negligence,strictproductliabilityorotherwise,shallbetherepairorreplacement,atHusqvarna’soption,ofthe
vehicleorcomponentthereofthatHusqvarnadeemstobedefective.Replacementshallmeanfurnishing,during
theapplicablelimitedwarrantyperiod,anewvehicleorfactory-reconditionedvehicleorcomponentthereofthatis
identicalorreasonablyequivalenttothewarrantedproductorcomponentatnocosttothepurchaser.Repairshall
meanremedyingadefectinthevehicleorcomponentthereofatnocosttothepurchaserduringtheapplicable
limitedwarrantyperiod.IfHusqvarnaelectstorepairthevehicle,itmayprovidefactory-reconditionedpartsor
components.AllpartsandcomponentsreplacedunderwarrantyshallbecomethepropertyofHusqvarna.

YOURWARRANTYRIGHTSANDOBLIGATIONS:
TheCaliforniaAirResourcesBoard(“CARB”)andHusqvarna(“HUSQVARNA”)arepleasedtoexplaintheemission
controlsystemwarrantyonyour2009vehicleengine(the“emissionwarranty”).InCalifornia,newsmalloff-road
engines(“SORE”)mustbedesigned,builtandequippedtomeettheState’sstringentanti-smogstandards.
HUSQVARNAshallwarranttheemissioncontrolsystemonthevehicleenginefortheperiodsoftimelistedbelow
providedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglectorimpropermaintenanceofyoursmalloff-roadengine.
Youremissioncontrolsystemmayincludepartssuchasthecarburetororfuel-injectionsystem,theignitionsystem,the
catalyticconverterandrelatedhoses,belts,connectorsandotheremissionassembliesorcomponents.
Whereawarrantableconditionexists,asdenedherein,HUSQVARNAwillrepairyourvehicleengineatnocostto
youincludingdiagnosis,partsandlabor.
MANUFACTURER’SWARRANTYCOVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfortwoyearsfromthevehicles’dateofpurchase.Ifanyemission-related
partonyourHUSQVARNASOREisdefective,thepartwillberepairedorreplacedbyHUSQVARNA.

-Asthevehicleengineowner,youareresponsiblefortheperformanceoftherequiredmaintenancelistedinyour
owner’smanual.HUSQVARNArecommendsthatyouretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyourvehicleengine,
butHUSQVARNAcannotdenywarrantysolelyforthelackofreceiptsorforyourfailuretoensuretheperformanceof
allscheduledmaintenance.
-Asthevehicleengineowner,youshouldhoweverbeawarethatHUSQVARNAmaydenyyouwarrantycoverageif
vehicleengineoraparthasfailedduetoabuse,neglect,impropermaintenanceorunapprovedmodications.
-YouareresponsibleforpresentingvehicleenginetoaHUSQVARNAdistributioncenterassoonasaproblemexists.
Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedinareasonableamountoftime,nottoexceed30days.Ifyouhaveany

HUSQVARNAEXPLANATIONOFEMISSIONCONTROLWARRANTY:
1.WARRANTY:
HUSQVARNAwarrantstotheultimatepurchaserandeachsubsequentpurchaserthattheSOREandrelated
emissionsequipmentisdesigned,builtandequippedsoastoconformwithallapplicableCaliforniaenvironmental
emissionregulations;andfreefromdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipthatcausethefailureofawarrantedpartto
beidenticalinallmaterialrespectstothatpartasdescribedinHUSQVARNA’sapplicationforcerticationwithCARB.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedatetheengineorequipmentisdeliveredtoanultimatepurchaserorrstplaced
intoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwoyearsfromthedateofpurchase.
2.COVERAGE:
Subjecttocertainconditionsandexclusionsasstatedbelow,thewarrantyonemission-relatedpartsisasfollows:
(1)Anywarrantedpartthatisnotscheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenanceinthewritteninstructions
supplied,iswarrantedforthewarrantyperiodstatedabove.Ifthepartfailsduringtheperiodofwarrantycoverage,
thepartwillberepairedorreplacedbyHUSQVARNAaccordingtosubsection(4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedor
replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfortheremainderoftheoriginalwarrantyperiod.
(2)Anywarrantedpartthatisscheduledonlyforregularinspectioninthewritteninstructionssuppliediswarranted
forthewarrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuchpartrepairedorreplacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedforthe
remainingoriginalwarrantyperiod.
(3)Anywarrantedpartthatisscheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenanceinthewritteninstructionssupplied
iswarrantedfortheperiodoftimebeforetherstscheduledreplacementdateforthatpart.Ifthepartfailsbefore
therstscheduledreplacement,thepartwillberepairedorreplacedbyHUSQVARNAaccordingtosubsection(4)
below.Anysuchpartrepairedorreplacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfortheremainderoftheperiodprior
totherstscheduledreplacementpointforthepart.
(4)Repairorreplacementofanywarrantedpartunderthewarrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedatawarranty
station*atnochargetotheowner.
(5)Notwithstandingtheprovisionsherein,warrantyservicesorrepairswillbeprovidedatallofourdistributioncenters
thatarefranchisedtoservicethesubjectenginesorequipment.
(6)Theengineorequipmentownerwillnotbechargedfordiagnosticlaborthatisdirectlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof
adefective,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,providedthatsuchdiagnosticworkisperformedatawarrantystation*.
(7)HUSQVARNAisliablefordamagestootherengineorequipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedbyacovered
failureunderwarrantyofanywarrantedpart.
(8)Throughouttheengineorequipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,HUSQVARNAwillmaintainasupplyof
warrantedpartssufcienttomeettheexpecteddemandforsuchparts.
(9)Anyreplacementpartmaybeusedintheperformanceofanywarrantymaintenanceorrepairsandmustbe
providedwithoutchargetotheowner.SuchusewillnotreducethewarrantyobligationsofHUSQVARNA.
(10)Add-onormodiedpartsthatarenotexemptedbytheAirResourcesBoardmaynotbeused.Theuseof
anynon-exemptedadd-onormodiedpartsbytheultimatepurchaserwillbegroundsfordisallowingawarranty
claims.HUSQVARNAwillnotbeliabletowarrantfailuresofwarrantedpartscausedbytheuseofanon-exempted
add-onormodiedpart.
