Hytera Communications PT580HF4 TETRA Digital Portable Terminal User Manual

Hytera Communications Corporation Ltd. TETRA Digital Portable Terminal

User Manual

Preface
Thank you for purchasing Hytera TETRA digital trunking terminal. It has a large
transective TFT color display, and supports both TMO and DMO modes. The
benets that this terminal delivers will refresh your experience and enable you
to be responsive to emergent situations.
To derive optimum performance from the terminal, please read this manual
and the supplied Safety Information Booklet before use.
This manual is applicable to the following model:

your product.
Term Explanation
Key Operation
Short press: to press a key and release it quickly.
Long press: to press a key and remain holding it down for a
predened period (1.5 seconds by default).
Hold down: to press a key and remain holding it down.
Individual Call
Individual call is a simplex or duplex call initiated by a single user
to another user, involving the calling party and the called party
only.
Group Call
Group call is a simplex call initiated by a single user to a group of
users, involving the calling party and all the group members.
Telephone Call
Telephone call is usually a full duplex call initiated between
PT580H and a PSTN subscriber (such as telephone user or mo
-
bile phone user).
To send or receive telephone calls, the terminal must operate in
TMO mode, and must be authorized to access public network
through PSTN gateway. Telephone call is a network service. For
more details and availability of the service, please contact your
service provider.
Emergency Call
Emergency call has the highest priority, and is very helpful for
the user to request help when emergency occurs. Generally, it
is set to group call type. Emergency call can break off any non-
emergency calls in progress.
DMO (Direct Mode Operation)
DMO mode allows terminals to communicate directly with each
other in simplex mode, without network restriction. But functions
that require network access such as telephone call will be
disallowed.
TMO (Trunking Mode Operation)
TMO mode allows terminals to communicate with each other via
the TETRA network, in half duplex or full duplex mode. Functions
that require network access are supported.
To operate in TMO mode, the terminal must be granted authori-
zation by your service provider, and must be within the network
coverage.
Air Interface Encryption
An encryption method helpful for protecting message transmitted
over the air. It encrypts data and signaling transmitted between
the base station and terminal, to protect the message from eaves-
dropping.
PT580H Hytera 英文说明书 00(RoHS).ind2 2 2010-12-8 17:26:44
The radio is not intended for use by general population in an
uncontrolled environment. It is only for occupational use and only
applied to work-related conditions. The radio must be only used by
users, who are fully aware of the hazards of the exposure and who
are able to exercise control over their RF exposure to qualify for
the higher exposure limits.
Full Duplex
Full duplex allows the ability to communicate in both directions
simultaneously.
Half Duplex
Half duplex allows the ability to communicate in only one
direction at a time. Two-way communication is possible, but not
simultaneously.

RF Radiation Information
RF Radiation Prole
Radio Frequency (RF) is a frequency of electromagnetic radiation
in the range at which radio signals are transmitted. RF technology
is widely used in communication, medicine, food processing and
other elds. It may generate radiation during use.
RF Radiation Safety
In order to ensure user health, experts from relevant industries
including science, engineering, medicine and health work
with international organizations to develop standards for safe
exposure to RF radiation. These standards consist of:
United States Federal Communications Commission, Code
of Federal Regulations; 47CFR part 2 sub-part J;
American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/Institute of
Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) C95. 1-1992;
Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) C95.
1 – 1999;
International Commission on Non - Ionizing Radiation
Protection (ICNIRP) 1998;
PT580H Hytera 英文说明书 00(RoHS).ind3 3 2010-12-8 17:26:44
FCC Regulations
Federal Communication Commission (FCC) requires that all radio
communication products should meet the requirements set forth in
the above standards before they can be marketed in the U.S, and
the manufacturer shall post a RF label on the product to inform
users of operational instructions, so as to enhance their occupational
health against exposure to RF energy.
Operational Instructions and Training
Guidelines
To ensure optimal performance and compliance with the
occupational/controlled environment RF energy exposure limits in
the above standards and guidelines, users should transmit no more
than 50% of the time and always adhere to the following procedures:
Your product radiates measurable RF energy
only while it is transmitting (during talking),
not when it is receiving (listening) or in standby mode.
Keep the product at least 2.5 centimeters away from your body
during transmission.
EU Regulatory Conformance
As certied by the qualied laboratory, the product is in compliance
with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of
the Directive 1999/5/EC. Please note that the above information is
applicable to EU countries only.

Troubleshooting
Symptom Solution
The terminal can not be powered
on.
Please check whether battery power is too low or whether the battery fails to function due to damage
or improper installation.
Network registration fails or
network can not be found.
1. Please check the signal strength and see whether your terminal is within the network coverage.
2. Contact the network administrator, and conrm whether the terminal has acquired appropriate
authorization.
3. Check whether your terminal is in TMO mode.
The terminal is unable to make a
call.
1. Please check the signal strength and see whether your terminal is within the network coverage.
2. Check whether the called party is within the network coverage.
The terminal is unable to call or
receive from a specic group.
1 Check whether your terminal is a member of the target group.
2 Check whether your terminal is authorized to access the target group.
The terminal is unable to make a
call in DMO mode.
1. The called party is out of coverage.
2. The called party is not in DMO mode.
Half duplex transmission is
terminated. Overlong time of transmission makes the timer expire.
Normal call is interrupted. Check whether a terminal is making a pre-emptive priority call or emergency call.
For the same status message, the
content displayed at the sending
party and at the receiving party
varies.
Please check whether both parties have assigned the same content for this status message ID.
Abnormal disconnection occurs
during a call.
1. Check the signal strength in TMO mode.
2. Check whether you are in a place where the signals can be shielded (such as basement and
tunnel) and whether the other party is out of coverage.
3. Check the battery strength.

Appendix 2 SSI&TSI Dialing Rules
This terminal supports these dialing methods: SSI&TSI, PAB SSI&TSI, PAB
and PSTN. Each method shall follow a specic dialing rule. Cur-
rently, this terminal is only capable of checking SSI&TSI dialing
rules. When you want to call a PAB or PSTN subscriber, please
input the target number directly through the keypad. SSI&TSI di-
aling rules are as follows:
For target number less than 8 digits, input it directly;
For example, when MCC = default value, MNC = default
value and ISSI = 504, you just need to input 504 or
00000504 to make the call;
For target number with 9 -13 digits, input MNC+ISSI;
In t his c ase, I SSI must b e 8 digit s lon g, and add 0
before the first digit to supplement the balance when it
is less than the said length. For MNC, input it as it is.

For target number over 13 digits, input MCC+MNC+ISSI;
In this case, IS S I must be 8 di g it s long, MNC must

Add 0 before the first digit to supplement the balance
